Weaver Economy Skiver Review

In today’s video I will be reviewing the Weaver Economy Heritage Leather Skiver. While this leather splitter is built very stoutly, there are a couple of features that I would like to be different. My hope it that by watching my video you can make an informed decision when investing your money. I do try and purchase the best, each time I decide to invest in a tool. Last fall most of the companies selling leather splitters were out of stock or the model was much more then I was comfortable spending. I am able to make the Economy Heritage Leather Skiver do the work I need done. I just wish that the leather splitter had an adjustment to thickness that was more defined. Not so much reliant on adjust and test, repeat. I’ve tried using pre-skived pieces of leather as a guide. That resulted in mixed outcome. If the Weaver Economy Heritage Leather Skiver is the tool in your price range then it might be the best tool for you. One last thing. The Leather Splitter / Leather Skiver did not come with a manual. It was mostly try and then problem solve the issue that I was having. Weaver really should consider creating a manual for the Economy Heritage Leather Skiver.

@@jcmamcknight some great ideas. I do end up with a fairly large amount of this material. At time if the price is right I purchase thicker leather than I want and split it down.
