Easily the last one at 12:45 is the top one so far. I mean that one will be hard to top. Also question, the goal I would imagine is to get the cap off leading to the sewer end of the trap first before opening the one on the house/apartment side trap first to prevent it pooling and it being a little bit more of a pain in the ass, so....how often would you say the first cap you open turns out to be the house/apartment cap vs the sewer cap one? I see in a few of these that happened and in I think 2 of them it surprised you.
Never, when opening the cap I already know which direction it is but for some strange reason the vibration ends up popping off the cap which does catch me off guard 🙄

I grew up back east outside of Philly (way outside) and can't remember drain pits like you show. Those are some really old houses from the looks of the construction. Is there some sort of "p" trap between the first cover (that has pressure built up) and the second when you pop that one off it drains down? I can't imagine how nasty that gets if you have to dig up and replace lines buried 10 or 15 feet below grade. THIS is why I chose A/C as a career. (But being in a 150 degree attic or on top of a blazing hot roof is no cake walk).

SUGGESTION: How about putting like a metal strainer of sorts w/holes over the 2nd drain to keep all of the paper towels, debris and wipes from falling right back into the other drain when the tops are removed!?
Then the entire pit would fill with sewage, poop and paper, grease ect. And everything eles that would clog up the tiny holes.

Honest question here. I am not a plumber.
When you take off the outlet cap and it is dry, why would you not act to unblock the trap before popping the inlet cap in order to lessen the flooding/gushing shit storm?
I mean, I'm not complaining about the show that happens when you pop both caps, but it would just seem more practical.
Not at the time the clog is under the inlet cap and is further down the line, when that happens you have to jump the trap pushing the cable in backwards which is a real pain in the @$$ or constantly going up the vent instead of going towards the clog.
if I understand the question, it is not "why not unclog from the far side of the trap," it is "if you have to clean the trap anyway, why not do it before you make the gusher happen?" I see sometimes that it is hard to tell what exactly is going to happen but in other cases I think "that's going to go everywhere because the trap is blocked." Sometimes I'm wrong about it and sometimes I'm spot on. Maybe a 100% cleared trap still can't handle the gusher but viewers can't learn that because they don't see the trap being cleaned first. I'm a big fan, thanks for the videos.

Yes yes. A love these vids. I would love to do your job. It’s job satisfaction eh. The drains in Scotland are so different compare to ware you are. It’s the man hole the drains get done from. Never from the home first. That’s a last resort to go in threw the house.
