DK: "Haha, April fools, we're doing crime stories now!" Literally fucking everyone: _"Ayo that's actually kinda lit."_ DK: *_"Oh fuck we're gonna have to do crime stories now."_* And thus, Detective Ridiculous was born. And gee boyo McFuckket am i glad it was.
I am also going to agree with bricky about the weaving of the tale with just enough info at any given time, thus creating a more riveting story. Good job dk
Tonite on Ridiculous Gear: Bricky presses x to doubt, DK smokes like a chimney and Shy wonders when these two little detectives will find out about her crime she commited in 1956 on tuesday outside New Mexico 104, Las Vegas.
This one seemed to end on a brighter note compared to some of the other mysteries talked about. It seems this time, too many things happened against Julian’s favor for him to presumably commit the perfect crime and just when he thought he could turn it around, someone managed to miraculously survive the ordeal and would’ve probably been the start of his downfall if he had not off himself. Still a horrific event to have happened for the girl who essentially got anxiety up to her 30s, unaware whether Julian was still alive or not sounds rough, but Im glad she managed to make it out of that and rebound to a happier life.
Can I just say how happy I am that DK gets to lead a show? He started this as a joke, and seeing them turn it into a full thing is really awesome to see.
THIS TIME on _Ridiculous Gear: Detective Edition_ , DK steals the Lindbergh Baby, Bricky wrestles the Mothman, and Shy discovers the bones of Amelia Earhart in a back alley dumpster.
When DK begun talking about the poor 11 y/o old i actually had to pause a second because i felt tears on my eyes. Poor baby, what she had to go through
i can imagine going through Julian's mind would be a sort of scewed like, morbid ego about it like "they dont deserve to put me in jail i know im got when this kid tells the story BYE"
Aww man…watched this on Father’s Day in Australia & DK mentions his dad, I saw my dad on Father’s Day for the last time a few years ago…it’s hit the feels. But DK, that’s a great way to see off your dad an uncle
Femoral artery is easily accessible near the groin, not very deep, often accessed for catheters to treat heart attacks. You can feel it pulsing if you try hard enough
Given he served in Korea, I'd imagine Julian would have flown the B-47 Stratojet, basically a fighter jet in heavy bomber form, although it is possible his plane was a Superfortress. Not the most important detail to be stuck on but for some reason a guy like him flying a plane as dope as the Stratojet simply makes sense in my head.
Brickey let's do a little math here she's 11 in the 70s that's 50 years ago. So somehow her kids are all in their 40s. Either she started pumping them out real quick when she came of age or they're more likely in their thirties currently.
I like that bricky mention his ego in his suicide. People that are this egotistical believe the world wouldn’t survive without them. I guess for him, the world didn’t matter as much as consequences. It always makes me angry that these people don’t get proper punishment though. Also, is shy holding a rocket launcher in the thumbnail?
I love that what was intended to be an April fools joke has now evolved into a complete series; love the energy of Bricky and DK switching roles, and its always a treat to see more content come out from the Ad Ric team.
Can you please consider covering the weird incidents in Noel Alaska that the movie the fourth kind is based on,there's a whole lot of mysterious shit that happened at the time. There's alot of people that point to this story as proof of aliens but personally I think it was a story of when hypnosis is used in a malicious way.
Oh man. That is insane. 30 combat missions as a bomber pilot is insane. I think expected survival rate of bombers in ww2 in Europe was like 2 missions? Maybe less than 1?
11:25 My great-uncle flew one of those I think! He was one of the few that returned from a couple missions and even survived a crash once or twice!😎 Rest in Peace, Lestor!
Spoilers by the by: I feel a contributing factor to this guy committing suicide is the fact he had anxiety, and if his crimes were revealed, he will forever have to deal with the fact that people know he's a murderer and will automatically dislike or fear him, and I don't know if someone who has anxiety could live with that.
Loved the episode, the storytelling was extremely enjoyable. Could I make the suggestion of having a trigger warning at the beginning of your episode? Just for topics like suicide it can be rough for some people and a warning would be appreciated. Can't wait to hear more!
I feel like cutting the it at 54:26 would've been ridiculously funny. Completely out of sorts with the rest of the time of the episode, so probably not a good idea but it would've been funny
2:26 Speaking of the funeral industry being crooked, My Grandmother passed away in summer 2020 (non-covid), and she still doesn't have a tombstone over her grave. They gave us a BS excuse at the funeral itself, and they've been telling us it's a supply chain issue ever since.
i am very slightly disappointed there was no "super duperrault" joke anywhere, but only slightly. Series finale: DK and bricky go out with a bang (probably quite literally), and live-stream their GTA inspired crime spree.
DK can you just nut up and do a full on part-time podcast about all these not-well-known unsolved massacres/murders bc everyone does the same topics and I’ve never heard of this one before. Also sorry I told you to shut up bc I was hanging out with Shy. I was in fact not hanging out with Shy. I’d probably be dead if I was.
I’m gonna request, can you NOT go into the ugly details of how someone unalives themself. My nightmares would most likely be less nightmarish. Now if you excuse me, I’m gonna watch this episode 24 times.
Oh, sure, loooooooove the American bombers, uh-uh, bet my grandmother loved them too when they dropped loads after loads of high ordinance over her 10 years old head as she had to run for the bunkers, back in the second war.
What a time to be alive, where a joke becomes a whole, serious, series.
So hyped for this!
For this guy to constantly get re-insured, his premiums had to be *insane.*
it was the 30's/40's... maybe guys like him are the _reason_ why premiums get so insane now
“I lived, bitch.”

Jee boyo Mcfuckette. That will be the name of my son
“Gee boyo mcfuckket” is the most beautiful phrase I have ever been blessed with reading
I guess the kind of people who like grimdark fantasy are the same kind of people who like true crime history.
Who'd o' thunk?

Do you really think burying this beef under a pile of burnt rubble will bring closure to this family fire chief?
"Yeah."
Isn't it a little stupid that you can't drive a fire truck while being the chief of the fire fighters?
"Yeah."
Can I just say how happy I am that DK gets to lead a show? He started this as a joke, and seeing them turn it into a full thing is really awesome to see.

When DK begun talking about the poor 11 y/o old i actually had to pause a second because i felt tears on my eyes. Poor baby, what she had to go through
I can imagine what the Coast guard/navy went through seeing her.
DK’s storytelling has gotten so good! DetRic has become a welcome sign of each new month. Loving the series yall. :)
Brickyard comment on the funeral industry is right. My house is still in severe debt after paying for my grandpas funeral service.

Hugs for DK, that funeral sounds amazing
I look forward to these detective episodes every time. Kinda prefer them to the regular episodes too
as someone born and raised on Oahu I enjoy the fact you guys did a traditional burial at sea
This was a really interesting episode. I completely agree with Bricky's statement at the end. Well done DK 😃

Idk man as someone with anxiety that seems very far-fetched
Or maybe he just didn't want to spend the rest of his life inn jail, it could be that simple.
YESSS TRUE CRIME PODCAST LETS GOOOOOO
DK sounds like SteveO in this episode. Rest in peace papa-DK, your son is doing good stuff.
I don't know if it would be on the show because of how semi recent it was, but I'd like to see dk and bricky cover the Casey Anthoney case
Mebbe not a huge mystery but I loved it, I've never heard this story!
Take note that I'm legit wacthing this near a Hawaiian beach at 12:31. :o
If ever there was a time for DK to record some absurd Philip J Fry dialogue, this is it.

Love this series background
So like did she see her sisters corpse in the raft Julien was escaping in ? Is that what made her let go of the rope ?
Eva Gabor was married 5 times; Zsa Zsa Gabor was married 9 times! Magda Gabor was married 6 times. Just an FYI DK.
