      @@TheD736 yeah, the boxes if unmodified wouldn't be great in that regards, but few actually do that. I encourage you to look up what people have done with them. It's not difficult to make them into comfortable living spaces that can be moved across country (or even overseas) on a whim. There's companies that rent them out as mobile office spaces (think for large, ongoing construction projects), and I got to say I've found those comfortable in HOT summers and fairly cold winters. Not saying they're perfect or without drawbacks, but they've got a lot going for them over RV/travel trailers, tiny homes (mobile or stationary), and traditional home building.

    The background details seem to suggest meth use and the daughter being killed and the picture taken make me think they were killed in drug gang action. Maybe they were scoping out the property to set up a lab and they were forced off the road by "competitors." There's no way the killers would've known about the money and even if the victims told them they might have thought it was a delaying tactic.

    • @Luminousreign
      @Luminousreign ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It was obviously this lol, true crime has to tell the story kind of funky to even remotely hide that. They were involved with a larger group, the guy staying in their house and teaching them how to cook is a give away. The reason the money was left at the scene is because it sends a message. They thought they were doing a deal, so they gathered up their money and went and waited,but it was an ambush.

  • @Basically_Anybody
    @Basically_Anybody ปีที่แล้ว +181

    Theory: the parents were making and selling drugs. Living in the middle of the woods makes for easy hiding of production, the money could have come from sales, and the family-only view of the site would allow the parents to check how a drug lab could be set up without having to sneak around a real estate agent.
    Money might have been to make an immediate offer for the land if they decided it was suitable.
    For the deaths: possible execution, Bobby shot because it's personal and/or he fought back, wife and daughter get throat cut or strangled.

      This feels like the most likely explanation to me--the parents were making drugs, or they found a drug stash and were trying to get money for it. This also doesn't preclude the white supremacists from being involved; there's a definite Venn diagram overlap between "drug dealers" and "white supremacists".

  • @ThePitofSidLord
    @ThePitofSidLord ปีที่แล้ว +68

    My theory; The Jamison's made drugs, they went out to inspect the property planning on using it to set up a drug lab away from the risk of being discovered by neighbors. The shipping container house is commonly used by preppers as a cheap bunker, and are usually buried in dirt (so no windows for prying eyes) after being set up for off-the-grid living. They met their regular buyer there so they could figure out the best spot to do deals on the property too, maybe the dealer was financing the property purchase and/or drug lab set up. While there, they also did a deal, hence the money. After stashing the money in the truck they returned to continue inspecting the property. Their client decided to do some of the drugs, which the Jamisons participated in. Either intense paranoia set in for them from the drugs and/or it was just a bad batch of drugs, and it resulted in the deaths one way or another through some sort of drug induced psychosis.

      Why did the family bring money in the first place if they were going to sell drugs?

    As for not being able to tell the causes of death, wild animals will take parts of bodies. They could be lined up right next to each other, but an arm got dragged off. Also, they could only confirm that the father had a hole in the back of the head. The other skulls could have been crushed or otherwise broken, making it impossible to determine if they had a hole. A .22 doesn't always leave the skull, even at close range. That could explain why they couldn't find an exit either.

    In 2013 outside of a town in Ga not too far from where I grew up, construction workers doing a highway expansion found the mostly skeletal remains of someone who had been missing for about 8 years. The authorities determined that it was the remains of a man in his early-60's who had been missing, they had determined that he was shot in the back with a .308, a common round used in deer hunting. The man who was killed had no history prior to his disappearance of any history of Alzheimer's or similar illnesses, his remains were found face down and it looked like to the authorities that his remains had been stashed. The authorities ruled that it was a careless hunter who saw some movement and shot what they thought was a deer, and then found out "Oh no, I just killed a guy! I can't go to jail!", then hid the body. The remains were found a few miles from the missing person's house and only a couple of dozen yards from the edge of the highway. There had been a search of the area and no one found the body. Where I grew up, everyone knows at least one person who was killed or witnessed someone being killed by a careless hunter. The state and local authorities did an extensive search of the area for 4 months and the family and friends of the missing man carried on searches for 18 months after that. The area they found the missing(now manslaughtered, possibly murdered) individual's remains was a heavily forested area.
    At some point they left the truck, maybe they had a huge fight, some words were said in the heat of the moment, and the wife grabbed their daughter and left the truck, maybe she had a "Fuck this, I'm out!" moment, maybe she thought that her life and the life of her daughter was in danger, maybe she had been off her meds for a few days and wasn't in the right state of mind, and she went off into the woods with the daughter in tow, regardless, shortly afterwards the husband stormed to follow after them into the woods. Along came a hunter who failed to regard the number 3 rule of firearms safety: Be sure of your target and what's beyond it, saw some movement thinking it was a deer or a bighorn sheep or whatever was in season and shot. When the hunter came up where they thought was an animal they were hunting, it was a case of "Oh no, I just killed a man and there's 2 witnesses! I can't go to jail!", killed the wife and daughter, and stashed their remains. Think about all the missing person's cases that happens in rural areas where there is a lot of hunters, there is a good chance that at least some of them are killed because someone while out hunting was being irresponsible by not confirming their target and what's beyond it, shoots at some movement thinking it was an animal they were hunting, only to find out it was a person, then says "Oh no, I just killed someone! I can't go to jail!", then stashes the body where they know no one will find it.

    • @woodlefoof2
      @woodlefoof2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      So the problem with that one for this case is the lack of bullet holes on the wife and child’s bodies.
      A hunter would just shoot them, you could argue that maybe he shot a kidney or the bullets didn’t hit the skeleton, but the frantic nature of that while 2 people run scream etc not to mention your own panic.
      It’s not impossible, I just don’t see it. Hunter wouldn’t have strangled both the wife and child if he had a gun to shoot with.
      Obviously them being lined up shows the bodies were tampered with. A Hunter could have easily moved them. But there’s still the lack of skeletal damage.

    There are plenty of organs too shoot at that will kill you, and then decompose. And a 1000 volunteers isn't that much to search a big area like that. And depending on time of day and light conditions when they were in the area the bodies were found in the could easily have missed them.

    The lined up bodies implies completely another party and execution. The amount of money and behavior must mean something about drugs. Why would they even be moving out there? To start doing meth stuff? The bodies not found could mean they where kidnapped before brought back and killed. Regardless of not all the bodies having holes in the skulls i feel the position of the bodies heavily implies execution. but why would the bodies stay lined up after 4 years? That picture of Madison is haunting. That poor kid.

    • @__-tp4tm
      @__-tp4tm 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't particularly believe that they were lined up for an execution.
      The bodies weren't found in the search- doesn't mean the search parties just didn't find them that day, but could also suggest a group of people behind it.
      If you've got a group of radical racists or fanatics, kidnapping someone to a shared housing or hall wouldn't be too unlikely. In general, the man's body is the most likeliest to suffer heavier blows, cause a man that knows they won't be freed alive would probably try something, or in case wife/daughter get abused. Then, the female skeletons probably showed barely big bone damage, as they'd be strangled or cut.
      At one point, you need to get rid of the bodies, with my theory they'd drive the bodies out in the wilderness and heave them over and onto the ground. Time did the rest to hide their traces.
      Of course I'm open to other theories, but haven't exactly found this in the comments so far.

    • @__-tp4tm
      @__-tp4tm 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also a small addition -
      With the talk about the man's crazy father that might or might not have had some connections in the criminal underworld so to speak, radical meet ups of certain groups ready to kidnap/kill people would probably partly consist of more criminal personalities within said group.
      Doesn't need to be, but you've got a father that wanted his son dead and didn't shy back from trying himself. With no conclusion of conflict in the time before his death, an influencial senior criminal with connections could easily give way for the motivation to screw that family in particular. The whole family disappearing and found way later would suggest people that aren't completely foreign to that place, who can easily pass everyday's life there with no attention to their name.
      Sooo many possibilities :o

    32000 dollars isn't an addiction meth buy, it's a retail meth buy, either up front or past debt, and you would absolutely use cash for that. And you bring your kid and dog to make it less likely that the other guy won't kill you, especially if the relationship is already on shaky ground. You'd put your child in that danger because you're a meth dealer, and likely a user, and are already not thinking straight. The seller is unfortunately the type of person who will clip a kid because he was planning on doing it anyway and your brought them. So far this sounds like a deal gone bad.

    I'm REALLY confident about my theory. The mother killed the father with the .22 and killed herself and her daughter with the meds. Nothing crazy just a very sad story that unfortunately happens quite often.
    You go all the episode taking the grandma's words like holy gospel, but despite all my respect for that grieving lady I just can't do the same. She says her mentally unstable daughter would never have killed her granddaughter because she loved her too much, but that means nothing to me, especially if her psychiatric condition could have been exacerbated by drugs. She is emotionally involved in the story, of course she doesn't want to think her darling daughter would do such a thing. People do kill people they love though, a lot more than they kill strangers actually. The methlab theories sound crazy to me, it could have been ghosts or aliens though.

    Ngl the Hunters finding the car and then the bodies sounds sus, maybe they accidently shot bobby thinking he was an animal and then they strangled or did some other thing to the Wife and child to not leave witnesses, the bodies are wayyy too perfectly placed for any of the two parents or animals to be responsible, also the lack of the gun would mean that someone must have taken it, also, if they were left to elements they wouldnt stay in line, a bear or Wolf would move around the Bones, they 100% burried the bodies and then 4 years later either the elements uncovered them or they dug them back up for some reason

    I speculate (purely from listening to the evidence listed below) that they weren't making drugs (meth), but potentially had the conversation to start selling. The trip to Red Oaks was the start of a front to meet a distributor, who either lived in or was going to "set up shop" with the Jamison family in Red Oaks, and the Jamison family would be the distributors. This may also be too specific of a speculation, however the take away is that they were looking to start selling.
    How I envision the story: the distributor, who either lived in the area, so supported by no other vehicles going through the area or planned ahead with going to the area a day or two before and after without interacting with the local populace, met the family and realized they were bad for business. This was due to mental instability in both partners (bipolarity in the wife and the instable mental state caused by pain pills). Due to them meeting face to face he had to get rid of them, hence the "executioner style" bodies found later in 2013. This theory would support why there was no evidence of forced removal. Furthermore, the question as to why would they'd bring their dog and daughter was either instructions by the distributor (who wanted to ensure all possible ties would be in one area) or the beginning of an actual move to the area to start this venture. As far as the search goes, the distributor held the bodies of the three after murdering them either out in the wilderness or in a controlled environment in which the distributor operated. The elements could clear most of the evidence if the murder was outside, which in my theory would only be the blood of the father, as the mother and child, as pointed out in another commenter's post, were strangled. If the distributor was from the local area, they would have likely pre-established relations that could steer the search party away from their property. Furthermore, once the initial search cleared the surrounding area of the car, which would have been day 1 of the search, the distributor would then bury the bodies close to the initial scene of the crime.
    My initial speculation is founded with the following thoughts: in a poor financial decision and in an area where crack is prevalent, it isn't a reach to consider the option of becoming a seller. There seems to be foul play in a remote area, so someone pre-established would make sense. Of course there are holes in this theory as there would have had to be some proof of contact or something the suggest this, however, I think if you discredit someone who has been in the game for awhile, you are doing yourself a disservice. Its easy to believe the intelligence level in rural Oklahoma is low, but then you are putting aside the potential outliers which lay in most societies. I think the possibility of someone who preplanned all of this is possible. The missing bag from the car? Evidence of contact between the family and this distributor.
    If there are other facts i missed that could disprove this please let me know!

    Another theory: They had $35k in CASH. I doubt they were just junkies, they were possibly dealers, and scoping a new site for making. Why else would you want a single cargo crate on such a large property? Ventilation would be perfect. But then, they may have stepped onto someone else's turf and capped to end a conflict of intrest

They say they want to buy the land you're on... *That's worse.* So you have only one option... (Actualy, you have many, but again, at least from my limited knowlage of meth, dealers tend to use.) Nobody's gonna know, and if they find out, you and your shit's long gone.

    the father only had one hole in his head, right? typically bullets make 2 an entry and exit.
    22 caliber however, usually have such a low velocity that they dont leave the body. so it is entirely possible that the mother's gun was used. on the father.

    Honestly, this is one of the most confusing ones we've got so far.
    So first, I don't think it's possible it'd be the wife. Even if she was upset, even if she did get the husband out, it's be almost physically impossible to convince him to go almost 3 miles off, and kill him. And even if she did, she wouldn't bring the kid with to watch the father's death (from what we know she really cared for and lived the daughter), so both mom and kid getting killed by meth heads, then being placed side by side is unlikely, since they'd need to go back, find the car, and kill the girl, then drag her back, which would imply the mom left the child unsupervised to go kill her dad, on the side of the street, where anyone would stop by and take her, something which seems unlikely.
    Speaking of, Methheads are also unlikely. One, because of the reasons above, and 2,because theyd ransack the car, and the money would be gone. I don't even think it's plausible considering that. Also, if there are methlabs in the woods, why put the corpses back there, and invite further investigation in your area of business, so long after? So, Methheads, or drug dealers do not sound likely to me.
    So, that leaves grandpa, demons/the mexican inquisition and the white extremists.
    I don't think it'd be the inquition, aka religious extremists, mostly due to how no ill intent was noted by the priest, and nothing we know would suggest them doing it.
    I think it'd be either grandpa or the white extremists. And I don't think the grandpa would be ordering hits from the nursing home xd
    Here's what I think happened
    The family was distress. Both parents loved the daughter very much, and wanted what's best for her, so, I don't think they'd uproot her whole life just to go and live in the middle of nowhere. Unless they believed that was better than staying. They took everything they needed to get off the grind, all their money so they'd be untraceable by banks, all their stuff, etc.
    They were off while packing due to fear, I'd think, looking out in the distance worrying if the car that'll kill them will come round the corner.
    These were people fearing for their lives. They went off, wanting to stay safe somewhere secluded. However, something happened on the road. Somewhere after meeting the man that lived in the area, they found something that made them stop. I don't think they'd come out willingly. Even if a person they trusted showed up, and both the parents came out, it'd need to be a VERY close friend or relative, that's not of the father's side cause the parents would likely not trust them, to get the kid to also willingly come out, to talk with this person, and I don't think any close, trusted friend would lure them out to kill them.
    I'm imagining they saw something that had the parents come out to investigate. My thought, with some dramatization is this:
    They're driving and they see a person down by the side of the road. Dad stops to check in on them, like good Christians would, and mother comes out too to help, cause of dads Injury. Suddenly, bunch more guys jump out of the bushes. Guns are drawn, wife waves hers around, but she's quickly persuaded to lower it, or else she, husband, kid and dog (Not the dog!) are dead.
    They're put in a car, take the wife's gun away, and the family is taken away and kept prisoners for a while, at least until the search was off, before getting killed, left to decompose for a bit perhaps, then placed back. Father shot, quick and easy, while wife and kid likely something that wouldn't fracture them and leave evidence.
    The reasons I believe that are simply.
    Bricky really dropped the ball here I think with the search analysis. Cause, even if it's a big area, here's the thing. Searches do both, the grind method, where each square is individually checked, and the fresh eye method, meaning multiple people check the same place separately. And even assuming human eyes still miss them over weeks of search, these are corpses. They decompose and they smell. And they had DOGs. Even if human eyes and noses miss them, search dog noses wouldn't. So, the bodies must have been taken out of the area, then placed back to make it look like people just missed them.
    Now, why I think they were held prisoners? Well, the bodies were found 4 years later. Now, hunters obviously go in these woods. Even if we assume, which I find it unlikely, that they were placed back at the two year mark, and the hunters missed these uncovered, from what I understand, and clothed corpses, cause if they weren't clothed it's obvious they've been tampered with, they'd still need to be somewhere for the 2 previous years. Cause hiding these corpses somewhere for 2 years, and their smell, would be difficult, cause then they'd need to unhide/dig them up and get them back in the woods. Which, why do that if you already hid the corpses successfully for 2 years?
    So,taking everything into account, I think the most likely culprit would be the extremists group. I don't think grandpa's friends would keep them prisoners for a while, even if gramps didn't die 2 months after. Only scenario that makes sense, with the info provided I think, is the white extremist group, though where theyd keep them, I would not know. I'd imagine alive or dead, in a place in a neighborhood mostly populated by members of the group? Idk, let the FBI figure something out as well xd

      One small criticism, they have a kid with them, a young kid. They grew at that age, I'm pretty sure forensics would have found very weird that the missing 6 years old is in fact an eight years old. So, I think they were not kept prisonners in some place, or not longer than the search at least.
      They were just never found because bad luck, I guess, maybe they were hidden in a place difficult to access that hunters don't visit often?
