Have to says, it’s very weird seeing the Rick stars I grew up with playing in a setting like this, subdued crowd, no longer being mobbed by crowds, aging. It’s just surreal. Glad he’s still around. He brought us all a lot of pleasure. Thanks Myles.
This was like his hometown, little festival. I don’t believe you have been to Nova Scotia. Sure, Halifax is their bigger city, but the population is small, and the place is much more laid back than many places. I loved it when I spent a couple weeks there on my motorcycle ( it was after Labor Day and colder than I expected-camped every day but one ), PEI and the Madgelin/Madeline islands.
Huge musical influence on me, first saw April Wine in 1977 opening for RUSH ... INCREDIBLE! It must be so humbling for Myles to play to a small crowd as this after doing huge arenas and stadiums. I'm so happy to see him still doing what he loves and the music I love!
April Wine was my FIRST concert. I saw the show at QEH that became their first Live album so I relive it every time I pop it on the turntable 😄 This show happened in the neighbourhood that Myles grew up in, so was more of a homecoming event, and one of the few times he's played with Jim (a founding member) since he left April Wine, so I felt it needed to be captured . Saw April Wine last Saturday at CosmoFest (free concert) along with Kim Mitchell and Big Wreck. Long time members Myles Goodwyn and Brian Greenway were killer (bassist and drummer were excellent also). They can still play and sing amazing.

When I heard that April Wine had actually covered this song by Lorence Hud I liked the original a lot as well, but there was way too much reverb. I got to thinking that an acoustic version would be best of all, and I was right!
