Everyone keeps saying this, but Microprose is yet to actually release anything of consequence. Its just announcements and then silence. I. of course, want them to succeed in bbringing a lot of these titles to life, but until it happens, I'm a skeptic.
From now onwards we should be living the renaissance of flight simulators with the advent and with the increasing sophistication of VR technology. Military, civil aircrafts from every era, there are plenty of iconic planes and missions.
I didn't know they were back at it again. I've played their sims back in the 90's. Fleet Defender, Falcon 3.0 etc. And Combat air Patrol, i loved flying the F/A18. Are planes selectable, i see a Harrier is used in this video?
You can fly several aircraft, though the other ones are currently only partially implemented (basically only a 3d model and maybe some tweakes to the flight model), they lack proper cockpit view. But even the Harrier needs some more work done before I can recommend this. But if you want to support the project even if it's still raw, feel free to jump in.
This looks like it could have a lot of potential, i will be keeping my eye on this i may possibly buy it soon and play it myself while they are working on it. Looks like it worth trying and having it in my library!
So Microprose got this and TCA and they're both Harrier games. Kinda wild to they're both staring the same plane being completely independently developed
it's an interesting and unique plane that was also very iconic in the '90s and early '00s, during the original Microprose era, thanks to True Lies and Red Alert 2 among others.
I don't find the fact that it is AV8 only very appealing, it would have been nice to be able to ride an F14/F18 or something like the CAP1. I think the AMIGA version of CAP was really great at the time. Now that SF2 is dead, I think it will sell well if it targets the target audience in the middle of DCS and SF2. I think the game will live longer if it's modder friendly.
Maybe not right now, it still feels as a tech demo. But with Microprose backing and possibly guidence this will eventualy end up being good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
The inclusion of the detailed pilot model is something I wish more flight sims had, so that's already damn perfect. I hope this is a sign that the game will be finished at some point, it seems pretty interesting.
In DCS, Harrier was always broken somehow. After the Razbam thing, now it looks like it's going to get worse. With a Jane's F-15 level avionics this sim would be a great alternative.
Wouldn't say it was broken. Just very demanding of setup (good, precise HOTAS is mandatory to be able to VTOL). But now it may get broken which will be a pity since Razbam's Harrier is a lot more detailed than CAP2's, despite them being different modifications.
@@wrmusic8736 The target designating and SSS switchology was a mess for me 2 years ago. A year ago, the bomb fall line in CCRP was unusable, now the SA Cue on the TPOD display is off, and if you designate a target and drop dumb bombs in CCRP they always go short. So yes, I say it always was broken somehow.
I refunded this a couple or three years back. It showed lots of promise but was let down by the dev. I can't persuade myself to part with the cash a second time (when I can't refund it) until I'm positive it's going forward. Hopefully Microprose has bought into pushing it forward and not just bought into the dev's promises, like many of us did. Time will tell.
Yeah, it needs more work. Personally I think it shouldn't be released now in a state like this. Some of the older builds seemed more functional (although had smaller scope). In the end the time will tell. I'll be looking at the progress and will definately recommend it when it delivers on its promises. Right now I can only say that if you're willing to support it buy it, but if you want a working game you will have to wait.
I love DCS but I stopped playing with switches a long time ago. I use hot starts or auto starts most of the time now. And the other user meant flaming cliffs three; the low fidelity module they sell in DCS
@@robertrossi9364 Ah ok, FC3 is okay, but the planes dont feel "complete". I use autostart too, but I think that is disabled in Multiplayer if I remember correctly. I try concentrate now with the F18 on AA, the Harrier for AG, and the Apache as Helicopter. I will add a Button Box to work the radar, and start up, maybe MFD Buttons to, when my new screensetup works out. What pisses me of is that there is no professional Tutorials, the info in the youtube videos is sometimes outdated or a button binding does not work.
I forgot this had dropped; seeing it have a pulse I may need to pick it up. I agree tho, hardcore, if the initial focus is set in stone it will flourish the necessity for more dynamic additions to the game. As it stands focusing on the initial design will get it golden. I REALLY have high hopes for this personally, I mean, it's Microprose!
If they manage to give this game a good campaign with very cool missions and a dynamic campaign (with coop?) it may be a welcome addition to the brilliant but somewhat dull DCS. There's nothing wrong with DCS as a serious simulator but as a game it can be a bit boring. I used to love Microprose games as a child.
Why does it look like there's vaseline on the camera lens? That excessive blur is a total bummer. Especially for a pilot with supposedly good vision (I guess there's a waiver for anything, if you know whom to ask...)
It's a nope from me. This dev had his chance and blew it, far too long between updates, only adding features to keep the sales up. I really think it should have been removed from Steam years ago.

This I can take or leave, but if it's anything like as good as falcon BMS, i'm 100% dying to see what they can do with the falcon 5 IP.
