Very interesting they found locations to dig for lead by looking for a white 5 leaf flower called leadwort, it only grows in lead rich soil. Iv been exploring deep underground in the lead mines where I live.
some nice little wanders over your last 2 or 3 vids. its just good to get out in the fresh air mate. got about 6 good rides in over the festive period. atb again.
Hi Nick i'm back lol. Cut right back on my utube time both viewing and uploading but i'm back watching me regulars. Nice walk , your daughter dye her hair or it just go dark thats what happened to me when i was young and had hair. Its been a quieter outdoor year for me so far. ATB.
Great video nick, thanks for sharing had a little explore there this morning before heading over to sedling mine, found a couple of samples, covered in mud just got them soaking in ocadilic acid to see if it clears them up.
I haven’t got a clue what it is, I’m struggling to clean it up, it feels very heavy for its size and I suspect has a lead vien running through it. Where could I get it identified?
It's a whole industrial infrastructure there Nick that's now nicely covered by mother nature. A good mooch about but no crystals on this occasion. All the best. Mark
@@NorthernWayfarer-Alice that's class she's looking out . Thankfully my wife is very outdoor orientated too so a lot of hols and weekend aways will be based on that so fingers crossed Saorlaith will pick up the love of it too .
Hi nick don't think there was any fluorite for this site main minerals were the lead then reworked it for witherite just like settlingstones mine nearby. alstonite had been found here too

It is like a gently creeping carpet - reminds me of 'War of the Worlds.'

That small building with the two equally sized small low windows. Looks like a typical wages office. Where the workers would be paid. 👍🏻
Hi remember me
@@NorthernWayfarer-Alice thanks , hope you and your family had a nice christmas/new year.
