Mark, yesterday I’ve had my first Westvleteren XII, I drank it on a special moment. Now I understand why it has been voted best beer in the world. It’s a cracking beer, I wish that I had bought more of it, but in the future I’ll go to the abbey to pick a crate of this amazing beer up, and I’ll only open a bottle on special occasions.
I tried a bottle of last year's one funny enough on Sunday just gone as had to make room for the new one that would be coming out anytime soon. I can't remember what it tasted like when I tried it last year but I do remember that it was very good and that I liked it, however when I tasted it this time It did remind me of a kind of Belgium style beer and I did say to the brother-in-law it was a bit like one of the la trappe beers that he had bought me as a Christmas present in a gift box set with glass last year, I think that's why he didn't like it, as he's not into those style of beers unlike me as I'm not into the type he is, he prefers IPAs and other types of craft beer that just are not to my taste at this current time.
@@TheBierHooligan not tried this year's one as yet but I have got it to chill down, but the fact that the brother in law said it tastes like the other beers that I drink says it all.
Are they doing these again this year Mark?
