Eh it really doesnt taste THAT great. Unless you’re using milk from from like grassfed cows and the milk is unpasteurized then theres really not much flavor to it. Plus it costs more cause heavy cream is just as expensive and the yield is just too low if not less than buying sticks of butter. Just buy the butter. Waste of money and time especially if you live in the US
You should definitely not use a steam wand that is on an espresso machine to steam both the milk and the hot chocolate mix together. The super high pressure that comes out reverses for a little bit when shut off and sugar from the hot chocolate mix can go inside the steam wand. After a while this built up sugar will crystalize causing the steam wand to break.
I took a baking class and learned about Valrhona being the best chocolate. At first I thought it was just bakers being snobby, but after tasting baked goods and hot chocolate made from Valrhona, I realized they were serious. The reason consumers don't know this is because Valrhona isn't known for being eaten directly. But in cooking and baking, it is THE BEST. It makes all other baking chocolate/cocoa powder taste like garbage in comparison.
This is literally my family's progression. Swiss miss (heck we even have the same milk frother). Then leveraging our Jura steamer w/ whole milk. Then to the pan w/ local milk and chocolate. I should add that during this all was a transition to Costa Rica when I say local, I mean local. Even my littles (

My favorite type of Hot Chocolate is Mexican Hot Chocolate!! I love the mixture of cocoa powder, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, and a touch of CAYENNE! I love spicy chocolate combo that give u a little kick in the neck! Happy Holidays Sonny!
