Imo, JC4 lacks what made JC3 my favorite game: Style and Charm. The story in 3 and the minor details in the background had just felt more entertaining to watch and be a part of, like when you would liberate a military base in 3 and a captive English reporter would release a fake story of what happened to cover up it’s destruction, getting more desperate and tired as more bases are destroyed.
A captured Scottish reporter, if you didnt know that was David Tennant in Just Cause 3 I enjoyed taking out outposts and hearing the cover ups afterwards which I feel jc4 missed out on

One thing I loved about Just Cause 4 was the front lines; if you ever wanted a break from the campaign whilst still enjoying some great action, you could go to the front lines, where a constant battle is being fought.
The story was also better in 3, I mean 4 had a good potential but the cut scenes were sloppy and felt like made in a rush, they also should have added the expansion pack or a little more too the story at the end. In 3 we had a big boss fight and 4 we didn't even crash into the villan ourselves.
However, although that's true, Just Cause is never about the story anyway. It's all about the gameplay and which is why I still would play Just Cause 3
Should've ended at 3, Rico saved his home, that would be a good end. Started playing 4 a few weeks ago because it was free with ps plus and I finally beat 3. Good to see I'm not the only one disappointed.
Gas station explosions in 3 were some of may favorite things. Placing mines and detonating them only to be blown back by the force of the explosion was super cool.

Honestly, if JC4 had the more dynamic water aesthetics of JC3, a LOT more ammo, as well as having a more vibrant, larger and more sensibly diverse open world, then it would've been perfect in my opinion. Btw, what I mean with the world is that the map of JC4 is built around the weather gimmick, where there's just a large desert, a large rainforest, a large plains area, and a snowy set of mountains in the middle to seperate it all. I'm not a designer or a dev, so I can't really give a really good example of how to do it better, but the layout of the world doesn't feel real, or that it makes sense in a lot of ways. Yes, it's a video game and far from real life, but then I would point to Medici as the counter-argument. Easily one of the best designed and (in my opinion, as a sucker for the Mediterrarean) most beautiful open worlds that I can think of.
In my opinion, Just Cause 3 on all ultra settings is the best high-graphics experience I've ever had- ESPECIALLY when it rains. The puddles and reflections are so defined and just amazing.

I love taking a Helicopter In JustCause3 and landing it in the middle of a heavily dense field. It’s awesome how the foliage reacts to the wind from the propellers. If you haven’t really noticed this before, you should definitely try and give it a look see the next time you find yourself playing JustCause3.
I think the tornado should have been stronger and pulled the player in at a much farther distance, its weird seeing trucks that are 40x the weight of you get sucked up like a strand of hay, but you just sit there unaffected.
But it looks REALLY bad on PlayStation because they have a god awful motion blur I just hope that in the future they will at least let you turn THAT off because it is awful
To be honest it's shit like that that makes me love this series so much. I wonder if the AI is crap in those aspects intentionally, because it's hilarious to me.
Just Cause 4 is a reaaaaaally fun and cool game, most vídeos only show this part that looks like Brazil but there’s a snowy place and another one that look just like Just Cause 3
The playerbase speaks for itself. At the time of writing, JC3 has around 1k active players on Steam while JC4 has only 400ish. It's actually impressive how JC3 managed to keep it's playerbase despite the end of it's support and not having a dedicated multiplayer mode.

The water looks really good at 5:16, it gets everything right about how water becomes more opaque as things get deeper, and it gives a perfect color offset. But at the same time, when you get up close it kinda looks like a moving version of school ceilings tiles.

Rico design in Jc3 looked so much better. Especiallt the grapple glove. It just doesn't looks as cool in 4, which sucks since the cover arts makes it seem otherwise.
And thehook mechanics ruined Rico, in jc3 you could have 1 heavy weapon, 1 normal weapon and 2 handguns, in just cause 4 you can only have 2 guns, and thecontrols in ps4 and xbo are ruined

One thing i really appreciate about Just Cause games is the scale of their environments, really blows most other fictional open worlds out of the water.
Jc4 gameplay was awesome and story aswell and being creative but I loved to re-opress stuff like in jc3. And black hand voice was much deep and graphics like you said exactly.
I actually liked 4 lightning system in general a bit more, there's the factor of nostalgia, but I liked the darker vibe although that doesn't mean it's better, 3 graphics at it's all is far more superior, but the gameplay is the same and better while getting even more polished, and you have to consider the factor that the crisis of balancing the performance on all platforms especially console, without mentioning that some changes are intentional like sounds and effects, it doesn't necessarily has to be realistic since it can be bad or even harmful, but the water is is a no no, anyways that's my humble opinion, thanks
Give it 4 months and it will be cheap af, JC games always become dirt cheap after a few months because theyre nothing but reused textures and reskined maps, the game its nothing more than a sandbox.
It was worth it to me, and I've played JC2 and JC3 (finished JC3). I think it was the best game in the series especially in terms of storyline. No doubt it has a lot more you can do than in JC3. Also, most of these problems have been fixed. The waterfalls have changed, water in general has been tampered with (to an extent) but was overall a great game to get. And I spent $50 on it.
Dude, motion blur CAN sometimes be fun to use in cinematic fun games, but that and depth of field shouldn't just obfuscate the image, it should reduce the render rate behind that effect to increase fps. Some games just blur distant stuff and hammer your pc with high quality assets
Honestly, JC4 still looks really solid on it's own. Just because it's not as good as JC3 doesn't mean it's bad. All the hate I was hearing, I was expecting much worse of a downgrade.

JC3 water and original Crysis underwater were insane. Remastered Crysis water and JC4 water are as good as Mario 64.

I love taking a Helicopter In JustCause3 and landing it in the middle of a heavily dense field.
It’s awesome how the foliage reacts to the wind from the propellers.
If you haven’t really noticed this before, you should definitely try and give it a look see the next time you find yourself playing JustCause3.

I think the tornado should have been stronger and pulled the player in at a much farther distance, its weird seeing trucks that are 40x the weight of you get sucked up like a strand of hay, but you just sit there unaffected.

The playerbase speaks for itself. At the time of writing, JC3 has around 1k active players on Steam while JC4 has only 400ish.
It's actually impressive how JC3 managed to keep it's playerbase despite the end of it's support and not having a dedicated multiplayer mode.

Just cause 4 looks like an Indian teacher
The water looks really good at 5:16, it gets everything right about how water becomes more opaque as things get deeper, and it gives a perfect color offset.
But at the same time, when you get up close it kinda looks like a moving version of school ceilings tiles.
The only thing Just Cause 4 did better than 3 was the explosion sounds

Rico design in Jc3 looked so much better. Especiallt the grapple glove. It just doesn't looks as cool in 4, which sucks since the cover arts makes it seem otherwise.

They tried to bring the typical brown n' bloom color effects to the game and it became bland. JC is supposed to be exagerated and bright-colored.

I actually liked 4 lightning system in general a bit more, there's the factor of nostalgia, but I liked the darker vibe although that doesn't mean it's better, 3 graphics at it's all is far more superior, but the gameplay is the same and better while getting even more polished, and you have to consider the factor that the crisis of balancing the performance on all platforms especially console, without mentioning that some changes are intentional like sounds and effects, it doesn't necessarily has to be realistic since it can be bad or even harmful, but the water is is a no no, anyways that's my humble opinion, thanks
I’m split on jc4. I’ve never wanted and not wanted a game at the same time
Give it 4 months and it will be cheap af, JC games always become dirt cheap after a few months because theyre nothing but reused textures and reskined maps, the game its nothing more than a sandbox.
It was worth it to me, and I've played JC2 and JC3 (finished JC3). I think it was the best game in the series especially in terms of storyline. No doubt it has a lot more you can do than in JC3.
Also, most of these problems have been fixed. The waterfalls have changed, water in general has been tampered with (to an extent) but was overall a great game to get. And I spent $50 on it.

Dude, motion blur CAN sometimes be fun to use in cinematic fun games, but that and depth of field shouldn't just obfuscate the image, it should reduce the render rate behind that effect to increase fps. Some games just blur distant stuff and hammer your pc with high quality assets

Patches eliminated some of the issues. Also now vehicles leave trails in fields like they did in JC3 and Rico leaves footprints in sand and snow.
