    as a more experienced player (200 hours+ ) I suggest as loner or any faction that has it available you take the 45 acp pistol ( you dont need an smg , well aimed pistol shots work just fine) with best armour and gas mask and use the rest of the points on medkits ibuprofen for your legs and maybe a container if you like artefact hunting as yadulin is just as expensive but has only 1 use while ibuprofen are 3 uses

    I would definitely recommend starting in truck cemetary as military, you can run south immediately & wipe the bandit base (if you're a veteran or competent shooter) which has a guaranteed AN-94 drop from Pug. If you're lucky this will roll a high condition/usable barrel.
    From here you can run directly south again to the Farmstead to clear out the professional to expert loners for more gear.
    Push to Meadow from here, as soon as you get into the instance from Dark Valley there are three more bandits in the car park to your right - wipe them again for more gear. After this push towards Cordon & there are 3-4 more loners you can easily pick off in the middle of the village.
    If all goes well & you're a good player, you have easily got 20-25 stalker kills here within the first 10-20 minutes, possibly usable guns/armor, meds, cigs then truck on to Agroprom.

      Huh I never considered that. DV bandit base is one of the more feasible bases to wipe early game (Due to bad bandit gear down south) so this makes sense. Just have to have enough ammo for it, as the base is crawling with bandits so probably a good idea to use your starting cash on ammo (If you're confident you can take the place over) and the early game AN-94 is HUGE. all you need is the barrel tbh as you can drag and drop the rest of the parts. Good recommendation! I'll keep it in mind for future runs

    Great tips ! But i would love to give some idea for improvement for your starting item.
    I think the meds selection could be improved a little bit by picking ibuprofen instead of yadulin. It is true that ibuprofen doesnt heal all limbs (it doesnt heal head and torso iirc), but the dizzyness effect of ibuprofen is minimal compared to what yadulin would do to you.
    Also the radioprotectant is, in my opinion, a non essential for the early playthrough since you wouldn't be around a highly radiated area anyway. And even though you wanted to go artifact hunting, i think some vodkas and cigarettes would do the job just fine and if the rads stay long enough to make your character cough and lose some main HP, there is always the campfire trick to heal it up.
    Lastly the sleeping bag, this could be preferential, but if this tips are geared towards new player, then the sleeping bag could be purchased a little bit later down the road since i supposed new players wont be out and about at night where sleeping spots arent available. And speaking from my own experience, i've never sleep outside the usual crowded base such as rookie village and farm in cordon, hangar and flea market in garbage, or duty base in rostok.

    If playing as a Loner, I'd ditch the sleeping bag, because if you're playing in the southern parts of the Zone, you're never too far away from a bed. Cordon has 2 beds, Meadow has one, Garbage has 2 beds, Rostok has one, Agroprom has one in the tunnel and one in the military base, but you're obviously not gonna go there, Yantar has one, Wild Terrytory has one, Dark Valley has 2 beds, Darkscape has one, Army Warehouses has 2 beds, only Truck Cemetery has no beds. Even though the game gives you advice to use a sleeping bag over the free beds, because there's a chance you'd wake up earlier than intended, because they are "uncomfortable" and other stalkers are "noisy", it actually rarely happens for your character to wake up earlier. Another argument going against taking the sleeping bag from the beginning screen is that if you start out in Cordon and do Fanatic's tutorial, there is a good chance that he will give you one for free at the end of it. I'd imagine that if you use the sleeping bag out in the open, there is a chance that mutants or an emission or a psy storm will kill you in your sleep, so I generally wouldn't recommend getting a sleeping bag at the start. These 50 points are better used for Yadulin or Anti-rad.

    I can recommend loadouts for Invictus runs, with any faction that has a rifle with mounted optics [K98 and Mosin] you take the mosin and 50 points armor, that's it. Everything else, including meds, food, whatever can be found through gameplay

    Renegades don't have a base or traders, so starting at great swamps doesn't make any sence cause you have to run to Dark Valley anyway and with redliner jacket you can outrun any mutant. I mean ANY. Even fracture. Even chimera. So it's just better to take antistalker weapon on start since they are the one who can kill you and mosin + redliner is by far the best choise with a simple tactic to run away when someone gets too close. Same works with starting as Sin because The Knot artifact gives you same speed as redliner.

    You actually don't need the sleeping bag as a Loner when you start out in cordon. The second "tutorial" quest where you have to find the artifact grants you one. So that's just wasted points.

    • @vasilzahariev5741
      @vasilzahariev5741 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Fanatic's reward is not always a sleeping bag, it's sometimes a sharpening stone or a quick release system. But still, getting a sleeping bag from the starting menu is such a waste...

    While I get where you are coming from ... starting with the Thompson and taking Meds for points is a safe way for noobs to get totally frustrated and turned off by the game within the first 5 hours
    While it is true that .45 is a good caliber, especially if using hydrashock against mutants, the thompson is one of the worste if not the worste guns in the game. The sight picture actively prevents you from not getting suckerpunched, the recoil wastes 2/3 of the bullets you put through it (and .45 is an expensive round) and it is literally a throw away gun as it can't be upgraded meaningfully.
    Taking meds is a complete waste of points as they will provide the noob with some false sense of safety as they have meds and therefor getting hurt doesn't matter but this will lead to a spiral of constantly having to buy new meds because they constantly get hurt and therefor preventing actualy gear progress
    The TOS indeed is the best all around starter and the Mosin is the best cheese-starter as it will allow you to easily take out even high level stalkers with a single shot, therefor providing you with easy and early gear progression. The arguement that you need to be a 'good shot' doesn't apply as you need to be a good shot anyways if you step out of the Cordon and if you learn it early, it'll make it way easier then not having to properly aim and 10 o 15 hours later getting totally wrecked without exception because you never spent the time learning how to ADS and instead took on bad habits.
    Progression and survival in Gamma is less about getting better gear but more about getting gear that helps you taking on good habits and prevent bad habits ;)

      @@Z.A.D.D. Your welcome, speaking from experience, I also started out by using the SMGs and taking meds, totally screwed my first few hours, especially as you WILL die anyway as quite a few curveballs Gamma throws at you can only be avoided by knowing that they'll come.
      I soon after changed to starting with the mosin or the tos and only taking bandages if any meds at the start and it's a way smoother experience since then, especially as most early quest provide you with additional meatshields, making it even more useful to go for the long range option to trigger a fight and then just hang back and collect the scraps

    Interesting, I always choose PP-19 myself never really considered how much more effective .45ACP is in game. My counter point aside from ammo and mag availability(I play with mag redux) is optics availability and since your syarting weapons are going to be a mainstay at least early game having a modern PCC with a pic rail means you'll have optics available sooner if you can get them mounted to the Thompdon at all which I don't know.

    • @Z.A.D.D.
      @Z.A.D.D.  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Mag redux would definitely change around a few choices yes, also if you value optics that too. I just find starting with a fully auto .45acp with access to hydra shok and fmj a great choice plus its slightly cheaper than the 9mm variants. (Also most traders seem to have .45acp as well) Ive always had good performance with it, as well as the extra points being useful for starting meds.

      @@Z.A.D.D. I always choose Vityaz because iron sights on thompson is absolutely atrocious for me atleast. I can't hit anything with it .

      @@twistoss7820 I've have recently been converted by the PPSh gang. Replace the Thompson with that in the guide and that would be what I'd prefer. I like the vityaz, but the ppsh has a higher mag size and cheap enough ammo where you can kind of just spray if you need to

      starting the game with 2 25 point radiation resistance meds pairs well with the 2 yadalin. save early game money as well, good to have in a pinch
