It is based off of the 2014 joint study done by the University of Georgia and Tennessee biology departments. Dr. Bradley Cohen was the part of this study and has paper published that can be purchased on their findings. By no means it is absolutely perfect but based on the study and eye anatomy of their rods and cones, a protanopia filter and 20/100 vision filter is as close as I can get. How they see UV light, is something I do not apply to the deer vision filter.
Up in a tree is a tricky situation because backlighting can really just create a dark silhouette no matter what you are wearing. If you can predict a direct approach, where the mass of your body is directly inline with the best camo would be a darker pattern or one that was made to bled with a tree trunk. Like: Asio: camomatrix.com/camobasics/asiobasics/ Mossy Oak Bottomland would work also. Something that keeps you dark like pine tree bark. If you are worried about a side approach then look at what is behind you and see if you need a more contrasting color camo or a subtle color change from dark to light. Kryptek Altitude might work well for a more dramatic dark to light background Sitka SubAlpine may work in that situation (even though elevated 2 was build for the tree stand) Nomad DropTine might work for both situations: camomatrix.com/camobasics/nomad-gear-basic-set-up/ I find battling being a dark silhouette is the hardest part of trying to use a camo pattern in the trees. Use the Camo Matrix Double tool on the CamoMatrix.com website to compare those patterns above to others and you will find a bunch that might work for your situation.

what do u recommend for hunting in pine trees
Are you talking about thicker smaller pines on the ground or up in a treestand against the trunk?
