Can? No, it will. Have you ever seen The Wire before? Idris Elba's breakout character Stringer Bell was a prime example of that happening. He was still actively trying to get out but people didn't understand that those big powerful people would get you if the street thugs didn't when you're in that life. You won't make it far because they will hang that over your head and wish you would mutter a word. You'll be in prison or dead before the meeting is over and more so in prison depending on who you're dealing with. It will follow them and these street dudes are jealous of many dudes who get respect and move up the ladder faster than them.

I actually think some women like hood dudes because they confuse danger with excitement; they confuse drama with passion; they confuse physical abuse behavior with love; they confuse being in the streets as being masculine; they confuse being cool with jail time as being strong/tough; and they confuse quick money with being a boss. And sadly, swag has replaced gentleman behavior. It's all about perception. Those women perceive hood dudes with being like the rappers and characters on tv, but they don't realize it's a dangerous delusion and they have misguided attraction.

    • @cameo1013

Let's face it, all those things are seen as masculine, desirable and "non-lame".

Here's another single break down of the difference between a hood dude and a street dude.
Remember the movie "Boyz in the Hood". Well Tre and Ricky are hood dudes. They grew up in the Hood, got hood swagger and lingo, and hip to the culture. But they aren't in the mix. Now Doe boy and his crew, they're street dudes. They hustle and ready to pop off, they are heavy in the streets and as you guys say, "Active".

(Street) From the gutters, been homeless longer than 6 months, having no choice but to hustle not necessarily sell drugs or anything, watched people die, lost family and friends while in the streets, able to teach others how to survive the streets, willing to go to jail or fight in court for a better life, willing to do anything to get what you need or want, sometimes knows fun locations locally, ability to adapt, constantly learning, spiritual or religious, more than I can explain.
(Hood) Mostly raised into urban neighborhood warfare, mostly spoon fed, groomed, exploited, possibly raped or molested while younger, spoiled, selfish, probably selling drugs "you need money to make money" maybe spent less months or less homeless, less judged by women, possibly secretly gay or trans, needs help learning more about streets. Not everything s listed.
People can have different personalities, you watch out for a street person but you definitely watch out for a good ot for hood. Too much to list here.

It's true, when I was much younger I broke up with my "nice guy" to date the hood guy..big mistake, I later realized that I though that he was going to be a protector for me and I think in some way I got that mindset from movies and Disney stories, you know.. the guy who's willing to fight is going to be the one to protect me WRONG.. he abused me..I was very young, naive and inexperience..I would never shame someone now for the choices they made at a young age because.. I understand that they probably didn't have a healthy, loving, caring family foundation to start with..because that's how it was for us🙏🏽✌🏾💖

There’s no such thing as a male who can’t become violent. Every male is born with this. A male in heels is born with this.
You can be from the hood or the streets and not of the hood or the streets.
This conversation is borderline corny with egos flying and I’m not sure of the man strength of at least two on the panel.
