I’ve been in a dry Covid gully and it’s been so depressing. Returning to this wonderful painter and his enthusiasm has made me want to jump - and race back to my paints. Thank you!
Artistry, vision, innovation and practicality enable this genius of watercolour to create unparalleled quality of art. As a newbie artist, hobbyist really, this is just another universe. His passion and confidence is infectious.
Dear Graeme, as a beginner to painting in watercolour thank you for 'Putting Some David Taylor into my Life'! It was a joy to watch and I then watched it all over again! What a beautiful style! I've been lucky enough to visit Polperro and some of the other places in the preview paintings and he captures the scene, mood and atmosphere wonderfully well!
Thanks a lot Graeme for your work and tours with the art and meetings with artist like David Taylor! I'm really very grateful. I wish you another great meetings with amazing artist.
This is such a fantastic show. It has made me pick up watercolors! Used to love art when I was in school, but I was too busy to pursue anything related to art after leaving school - especially when I started working. Thanks to this show, I got the motivation to pick up watercolors.
Gotta love how the atmosphere just changed when he started painting. I could feel the enthusiasm as I was there =) ANd what he said about getting excited might even be the most important lesson here. Asm uch as painting is about technical stuff, it really is mental. I have to work on that myself. It shouldn't be so serious, everything is different if you're trying to get good enough to make living through it, but being excited you'd just enjoy the process and might end up making it your job. Each on their own of course =)
and who wouldn't love watching this amazingly lovely man create such a breathtakingly great painting. ThankYou for sharing David. You really put the Fun into painting. :-) AND thankyou Graeme for putting David on Colour in Your Life.
Thank you Graeme for your contribution to the art world, all your videos are very inspiring and if it wasn't for your program I didn't knew some of the best watercolour teachers in the world like David Taylor, Alvaro Castagnet, Herman Pekel and of course the great Master Joseph Zbukvic. Keep on the good work and greetings from Guatemala!
Great video as usual Graeme. Love David Taylor and I am a recent devotee to Daniel Smith fantastic watercolours, you are so right to push them in this video.

Absolutely in love with your series, Graeme. My chosen medium is Oil, but man oh man, watercolors sure do give a beautiful end product. Must be great getting to talk to all of these fantastic artists ! I'd love everyday of this job.
Love this series and listening to the conversations. Could you please show more of the up close paint strokes and colour mixing, instead of standing in front of the painting and talking. The voice overs would be good to hear while watching the actual painting process. Thanks for the great work.
Love this one! But.. I’ve really enjoyed your program and your ability to interview and inform during the programs!!! Thank you for bringing such beauty and joy into my life and introducing me to many artists... God Bless

Linda Bass Hi , yes he is amazing. We will have many more great Artists over time, so I hope you enjoy them all, dont forget to tell other folks about us. This only helps us to keep all of this going for everyone out there, hope all is well, Graeme
Nice video. I agree with him about this old theory of "you must use watercolor in thin washes". If you look at old watercolors before John singer sargent. The color was a lot more solid and the use of opaque colors was universal along with transparent. Turner had a lot of large opaque watercolors that are quite solid and detailed. It wasnt until John Singer sargent that everyone started trying to replicate that wishy washy sketch look and dropped the opaque colors. I think it really harmed watercolor as a medium by making it look like the sketch medium and not what it can be which is a solid large beautiful painting just like oil painting. Its hard for it to compete with oil when its so wishy washy.
Magnificent David...what is that drawing pen you used when you started drawing... What weight of paper do you prefer.... If you wanted to paint a large sail on a boat...do you leave it white (the paper) or lightly paint it a color ?...to look white? Its hard to see that sky from here; is it a very light white? You're so educational David...and fun to watch as I'm learning. Thank you "Skippy"
Hi David, I am from Mexico, city, let me tell you that nobody has inspired me the way that you do, your paintings are magical, and you are such a nice, wonderful person and artist. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible fine art, indeed it`s the best work in the world. Is there any site, special site to watch and follow your work. Please let me know. my name is Carlota Ramirez. Delighted to have found you.

I love what you do, thank you. Showing artis work and how they do there work. I would like to suggest to show more of the hands on the paper instead of looking at the artis.
Hi Dori, I have Davids number but cant put it up on the you tube page, My email is graeme@colourinyourlife.com.au if you would like to drop me a message, Graeme
Hi David, I am new to watercolor so forgive me if this is a dumb question. I can't see the initial pencil strokes in any of the finished paintings in your video but I wonder if they can be seen in person(?) Also, if the pencil marks can be seen in the finished painting then I would assume you must make sure they add something good to the piece. Is that right? Thanks, Don
I can’t stop watching this. Love the style and the details in his painting. Simply amazing love you guys
I’ve been in a dry Covid gully and it’s been so depressing. Returning to this wonderful painter and his enthusiasm has made me want to jump - and race back to my paints. Thank you!

Nice Job, David! All in one go, no scrubbing etc. So clean and fresh looking! Thank you Graeme for sharing! Thank you, too Senior Art.
... the quiet dignity of the craftsman, so forcefully stated here and so unjustly despised today... an honest, decent painter... reassuring...
He makes it work effortless...the sign of a great painter.
Thank you, I like David Taylor very much
