Wow, I'm in love with her art. It's so easy to get boring with watercolor this days, but her paintings are truly alive! The depth, the contrasts and the aura. Awesome!
Victor Baggio Hi , yes she is amazing. We will have many more great Artists over time, so I hope you enjoy them all, dont forget to tell other folks about us. This only helps us to keep all of this going for everyone out there, hope all is well, Graeme
Oh my God. Did that all come from the bottom of the palette?! In 20 minutes? I am in awe of that kind of talent. I'll watch that again and again. Thanks so much for bringing her to us.

The 5 "rules" to turn a painting into an art is so true. Now, the most important thing for me to start with is learning how to paint. Thanks for sharing. This is one of your posts that is too valuable to miss.

Whatever the painting equivalent is for perfect pitch Amanda Hyatt has that for color. Her landscape leaps off the page the moment she starts adding the trees (11:48). It's astounding to watch.
Wow, that was amazing! Ms. Hyatt, you have certainly done your homework. You made that look easy. To take such a boring subject matter and breathe life into it...masterful. I'll be looking for more videos! Oh and thank you Graeme Stevenson!
Is not boring the subject, but it's only personal opinion. The landscape is sooo beautiful, I thought about, if it's boring, it's not, after me...I would be glad to have such a vinery there...:-)
Amanda, thanks for shaing. Your instructions are very helpful and inspiring. Graeme, thank you too. I tell others here in Malawi who never have the opportunity to see such amazing demonstrations to subsribe to you. Any new videos soon on landscapes?

Around the 13 minute mark the painting suddenly reminded me of an Andrew Wyeth landscape. It's that magical green he would put in his fields...I guess it resonated with me because I just finished watching a couple of his documentaries. I love his work...specially his landscapes. Amanda Hyatt so reminds me of myself! lol I have a hat like that...great for travel and a scarf like that wrapped around my neck...anyways. Love her watercolours!

This was incredible. I personally think she should have added a few white dots/areas or some other bright color (Cerillion blue or orange) to represent the house or building roofs scattered around among dark value areas mid ground. That just come from me watching other artists though. I think this was the best video for instruction in realist/impressionist style I have ever seen.
I painted the best realist/ impression watercolor (beached sailboat) I have ever painted in my entire life last night and because of watching this video yesterday I had the words of this lady in my head while I painted it. She give great instruction and create great quotes.

Can't agree with her perspective on "A true artist should be able to paint all things in all mediums" I feel that's an extremely hindering thing to say to someone desiring to learn about art. There are different mediums for different reasons. Not everyone enjoys oil, or enjoys watercolor etc.. I think someone who truly puts 100 percent into a medium they love is the better for it. We live in a world where art is so subjective. What someone may love others hate. I say be confident in yourself in what YOU personally enjoy painting ultimately that is what's going to reflect your passion the most.
Pianokeys16 Well after 68 years of drawing, painting in all mediums, digging my own pigments and pastel painting, I think I could say I qualify by her standards and by yours since I whittled my media down to watercolour and pastel painting some 20 years ago. Experience and maturity count too.
Struggle to watch this. The bloody scarf in the paint is very distracting. Think they call it a wardrobe failure in the media;) She does well though, a good-un.
She is a master - and thank you for not interrupting the flow w questions or commentary .....
I'm attending a 2 day workshop with Amanda this weekend.... Can't bloody wait.... She's unreal.!
I love her teaching. She doesn't make me feel like an idiot eventhough I am. 10/10
So spontaneous...great to see

The only rules are the ones concerning technique. All other opinions are just "artistic" ego trips. Just paint. That's enough
Whoa! Terrific, terrific art and artist.
Wonderful demonstration. It's always very refreshing to see this kind of impressionistic watercolor.

I think painting missing the farm houses, rest of the think is fine

She hardly makes any effort to 'paint', yet we end up getting a nice painting
Decent painting. more of a oil though and the artist talks a little too much about being a pro vs amateur, which tells me she lacks confidence ..
You obviously know nothing about her
