As someone who is very enthusiastic about samplers in general, and also having a nice typing experience, I found this video absolutely fascinating, considering that you're applying sampling technique to gain an improved typing experience. This is honestly super duper cool, and it would be fun to possibly even contribute to this someday. I have an obscure model f clone from 1982 with vintage cherry mx black switches that would be a ton of fun to record. I may give it a shot, thanks for the inspiration.

Only that they don't use pleasent keyboard sounds but lasers and shit. So if you realy want to torture yourself your keyboard makes pew pew evertime you press a key
The keyboard you showed as the “But you own this:” is actually the keyboard I used to daily drive before getting into mechanical. That board being a Logitech G213 Prodigy, if I’m not mistaken.
I literally searched for "mechanical keyboard videos that are short and have no smooth jazz in the background " and this was the video on the list! Huzzah!
I really expected this to be about music keyboards and was ready to see if this would be able to apply to the many, and by many I mean three, infamous keyboards I know of.
Love the video. Found the channel yesterday and despite not knowing anything about keyboards, I enjoy learning about it as I go through your videos. And the idea of the keyboard library at 7:30 is such a great idea!!! You should definitely make it a reality
So I'm typing with this completely on just for fun and it actually doesn't sound half bad, the slight static could use a cut but other than that, no mechanical keyboard that now sounds like one, thanks for saving me a good 80-200 dollars in some random mechanical RGB keyboard that I would've probably hated anyways. I think ill keep this thank you for the 100% free expensive keyboard sounds with little to no input lag, this truly sounds amazing :)
Once you've tried some actually good clicky switches I think your regard for MX blues will become about as low as mine is for most MX variants 🤣 Unfortunately you're then stuck buying really expensive reproduction boards or really expensive vintage boards 😞... unless you skip the vintage phase altogether and go straight for a Matias (don't get the "quiet" ones, they chatter) or Unicomp (no NKRO, it's buckling spring over membrane 😒). Either of those feel amazing compared to an MX variant and the sound is just next level (if that's what you're looking for). I've found the Matias Tactile Pro to be the best compromise between key feel, availability, price and features (NKRO, media keys, USB passthrough) if you only ever want to buy one.
To get rid of the white noise in the background of the file, all you have to do is turn up the volume of the key to %100 and take the lowpass filter and drag it to around 16000 or until your satisfied. Hope this helps
Probably be better off using the noise reduction effect instead. A full blown lowpass wouldn't capture the entire spectrum of the audio and would give the wrong impression of the sound profile.
Thank you for your sacrifice to the community. This was brilliant. Also, this idea needs to be put into a webbased solution that, like you said, allows people to virtually test drive a keyboard before buying.
Amazing! Now my 5$ membrane keyboard at least sounds like a 200$ keyboard. Tip: If you get noise when raising the volume of the keystrokes just use the built in low pass filter. I find 14708 hz works nice for me.
I just wanted to say your hand-zoom effect every time you said "no" has quite a strong comedic effect compared to the post-production version you commonly see in other TH-camr's videos. I enjoyed that, have my subscription and thumbs up.
