    Your ability to explain things clearly shows your background. I wish I could afford to have someone like you to train me.

    Every single athlete needs to watch this

    One of the best technical strong men in the world, just lacks a bit of size!

    • @Fortress333
      @Fortress333 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That depends. If strongman events in competitions are going to place a little more emphasis on speed or general athleticism again, it is beneficial to be not too bulky. Still, it's usually preferable to be bigger and stronger in life and definitely strongman. It doesn't pay off to be fast when you can't pick up or hold onto the heavy sandbag, for example. I assume you mean size in terms of body weight, though... You could try to impress the head judge with size between your legs, but they're selected for keeping a level head.

      More mass moves more mass. Ask Big Z, Eddie and Halfthor.

      @@ralfburon6179 Being heavier is undoubtedly better for something like truck pull but not necessarily the case for other events. There's a relationship between size and strength, but even putting aside stamina (which is obviously more important in strongman than in, say, powerlifting) there's a tradeoff in terms of levers. Martins talks about this a lot. If you're bigger then you end up carrying items further away from the pivot point (because there's more of you in the way). It makes stones, shield carries, and possibly even deadlift all more difficult. Naturally it's possible that the increase in strength could be large enough to compensate for this, but that's something that does need to be considered.

      I think the mass is one reason why Pudzianowski never won the Arnold Classic. He was like Martins a very fast man with a good endurance. But the difference between the WSM and the Arnolds are the weights. And for this weights every pound is helpful. The winner of the Arnolds are with just one exception all 400 pounds or heavier.

      @@ralfburon6179 I would imagine Martins would be extraordinarily flattered to be compared to Mariusz. Martins is probably my favourite strongman (bar Mateusz, of course) and Mariusz is an all-time great. I understand the comparison, but I think the similarity is more along the lines of both being good competitors who do an excellent job of minimising their weaknesses. Mariusz consistently trained aggressively and quite intensely whereas Martins uses a lot of linear periodization so the vast majority of his sessions are much lighter and much more about technique and proprioception. Also, I don't think Martins' speed or endurance are anywhere near Pudz's levels in absolute terms, but the consistent increase in weight of top competitors makes a guy like Martins, who competes at a similar weight to Z, Magnus, Hugo, and Vasyl in 2003, look fast by comparison.
      I completely agree with you about ASC though. The weights for reps and for time are heavier, they favour maxes vs reps, and moving events are almost always on a very short course. ASC prides itself on being the heaviest show, whilst Bryce is on record as saying his shows always test a broader definition of strength including strength endurance and speed under load.

    If a strongman is going for a jog, it's like that scene in Jurassic Park when the camera zooms in on the water cup in the car... Scary.

    I have an infrared sauna that I use for recovery. I don't have any proof it works but I feel more energized and recovered when I use it consistently.

    Nobody is able to answer me on one question - about BONES. Do you know how to increase bone mass?
    I haven't seen anybody who is a PRO in bodybuilding or fitness, talks about this topic?
    Couldn't find nowhere any decent video that specifically talks about method of strengthening bones, getting them bigger, thicker and way more resilient...
    If you could make a video about this topic (in terms of the science behind this, various method, best foods, etc) that would be AWESOME!

    Adam I didn’t even know you had a youtube channel but i’m glad I found it bc this is some really solid advice👍what do you think about using a TENS unit for joint pain relief.. or would I be better off doing something else? Also for those of us who don’t have cold tubs.. would taking super cold showers be a decent alternative? or is it even worth it.. Much love bro!

    Serious question: does desisting from carnal relations aid in recovery...? I notice my libido becomes very dulled when I have destroyed a body part, and I wonder if that is the body signaling not to ejaculate, thus resources aren't required to replenish the bollocks instead of the sore muscles...

    • @Hyrppa95

      Ejaculation can have a positive effect on recovery by relaxing your body.

    you use the method you wont admit : STEROIDS

    • @Fortress333
      @Fortress333 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steroids are illegal, so they're wise not to talk about it in public. I can't know this for sure, nor do I care, but I assume the elite competitors all use something and you can bet they're using maybe quite a bit. This varies from person to person. I do like to think the smarter strongmen use it wisely. Some of them probably go totally overboard with it, but this comes at a price. Actually, I do wonder how they can afford the lifestyle, as there's only money in strongman for the elite of the elite. The food bills are huge, then there's the time spent training, the traveling costs, and much more. I guess it's willpower. They make it work, because they want it bad. I admire this.
