Thanks for the walk through. Just contacted a local dealer last night about a Contour Canopy. I'll also be going without side windows and I installed the new version Decked single drawer. Waiting to hear back. Hopefully the lead time isn't too long. One question, if one did want to sleep in the bed, how tight of quarters would it be with the Decked drawer? I have a '23 Tacoma TRD Offroad long bed.
I had a decked system in the Colorado, and I don’t see any issue with you sleeping in the back. There is plenty of room. I didn’t use the bed for sleeping. I had a fridge back there.
Great review! I have a Diamondback cover on my Tacoma right now but eventually I’d like to move to an Alu-Cab canopy like this. I really like the Prinsu rack on top and the way you have everything organized. Thanks for sharing. I’ve saved this video and started following you on Instagram. Good stuff all around!
Hi there! It is made by Datin Fab and is super easy to install. I actually made a quick video of that as well! Install: Datin Fab Bed Molle Chevy ZR2 Bison w/ Decked System th-cam.com/video/WxxV4wJIONQ/w-d-xo.html
@@FiveAngelsOutdoor thank you, I have their rear shock skids too. I’ll definitely be getting this. I have a 19 z71 with an Alu Canopy on the way! Also curious if this would fit up against the front of the bed near the cab. Thats where I want to mount a water tank.
Im getting a decked 2.0 this week and I currently have a dual zone fridge and looking to get the the alucab tilting fridge slider just worry that one of the fridge door wont open properly
I never had any issues with leaks. It is really well made and top quality. As far as dust goes, I added additional seals for the tailgate to ensure no intrusion there. The topper did not have issues with dust getting in.
Thanks for making and posting, very useful and not many vids on this canopy. I've watched several times as I'm about to pick up a Colorado and probably the alu-cab explorer. I especially appreciate the close up of the M8 to Prinsu roofrack bracket since i've been wondering how they would fit. Good job!
Thanks for enjoying!!! The Alu-cab is really awesome and with it. I have not been disappointed. I just wish I would have went with this first instead of the fiber at first.
Thanks for watching. Thanks for commenting. I used the Prinsu Lear Feet. This allowed for the proper clearance and alignment. I used 3 pair for stability and strength. The base fit well in the slotted track on the canopy. prinsu.com/product/leer-mounting-feet/
From all the videos and articles ive read this is the best cap out there. Im buying one with the glass tho. I have dogs we like to transport around and i want to be able to get air to them of course.
Yeah! I agree that this topper is the best all around. Solid construction, light weight, easily accessorized. Only thing is that I wish I had bought this right from the start 😀 The backseat is where my dogs hang out, so my bed is more transporting stuff!!
Hi there!! Thanks for watching. They are Rhino-Rack Stow It lockable clamps. I went with these over a quick fist style because if locks. www.rhinorack.com/en-us/products/roof-racks/platforms-and-baskets/pioneer-platform-accessories/stow-it-utility-holder-regular_rsit
I apologize for asking so many questions lol, for your Explorer canopy Prinsu set up, did you need to purchase any different mounting brackets to have it mounted directly to the Alu cab ? I have a 2nd Gen Tacoma with the same Explorer canopy and was thinking of going the same route as you did. Unfortunately I’m not sure if I needed to purchase any different mounting brackets or did the brackets already come in the kit ?
@@FiveAngelsOutdoor Many thanks. I am looking to do a woodland pattern wrap on my (inbound) ZR2. Looking thru the various patterns, i have not found one like yours. Is there an identified digital file i can pass to the wrap company here in Houston? TIA
Not that I know of. My previous rig, which was a ZR2 had a similar pattern. You can see how it turned out in other videos. I used two different shops to do the wraps. They are similar, but not exactly the same. I basically gave them the guidance of a tropical (green-based) camo blown up, so the pattern was large. This made it not so busy.
Yeah. Maybe because I bought mine used, previous owners stripped all of the goodies. I have bought one cupboard so far. Might end up getting the table and the table slide.
Fantastic review of the canopy. I was wondering if you can share where you purchased the lock covers that keep the actualy locks out of the weather? thank you in advance!
That is amazing. I wish I had gone straight to the Alu-cab and bypassed the fiber one from the start. One thing I have learned is that things get disabled in over time. Can’t get everything perfect from the start.
It’s a nice Truck and setup. Don’t get me wrong… but it is clearly a show and shine truck, that never gets used. The shovel has never seen dirt, the axe never seen wood… its sad mate. You gotta get out and enjoy life and put those things to work.
Because in the rare event that you need a shovel, you need it badly, especially if you are way out in the boonies with no help and no phone service. Being prepared is for things that might happen but are not expected to.
Love the camo effect
Thanks!!! The wrap protects our paint while out on the trail and it looks cool!! 😀😃😃

Hi. What is that Molle panel in the bed that fits above the decked system, and how is it attaching to those tide down holes?

These were made specifically for the side area. You may have to message them to check on other options.
How do you adjust the struts for the lift up panels not to go all the way up please?
Thanks for watching!!! I did not have to make any adjustments specifically for my setup. Is your canopy behaving different?
@@FiveAngelsOutdoor yes the side doors go all the way up open and dont stop at a 90 degree angle as yours do... Just like the rear one
Very detailed review, I had it on my 21 Tacoma great buy .

I didn’t have any issues. The rear door was plenty out of the way. What is the length of your dual zone?
@FiveAngelsOutdoor LxWxH is 31"x18"x19". Looking if you have a video of your current set up using the fridge and slider?
How's the alucab tilting fridge slider right now with your setup? Any interference when you open the fridge door?
It works out great. No interference.
Good video, thanks. Does is leak water and do you get dust inside?

@@Silvertaco_dad Prinsue sells “feet” for the rack. I used those to mount it to the Alucab rails
Did you look at the RSI SmartCap? I'm trying to decide on which one as they are both around the same price here in Aus. Cheers for the video
My friend has an RSI. The Alu-Cab is aluminum, so it is lighter. I like the fact that is a single unite as well. The RSI comes in pieces for assembly.
Can you share who made the wrap and where you sourced it?
It is digitally printed. The Colorado was wrapped by Redline Design in Tampa, FL

Appreciate you watching. Thanks for leaving a comment!!!!
What a good looking truck!
Thanks so much Antonio. It has been quite a process. I have some walkaround videos as well. Thanks for watching!!!!

That is by WaterPort. Yes, it can be used for a shower as needed. Thanks for watching!
Nice job. I love the look of it.
I'm glad you like it
Great review. I love my Alu-Cab too✌️
Thanks! I am sure you enjoy yours as much as I am liking mine!
I added additional lighting on the inside of mine and it’s the same version as yours
Yeah! In the end it works out great!
The explorer canopy normally comes with lights on the side doors and inside the dome. Weird that yours didnt. Or perhaps its an optional extra?
Yeah. It is definitely weird. I bought mine used, so maybe back then, it was not part of package or ordered that way.
@@FiveAngelsOutdoor Weird.
Looking forward to meeting you at expo next week.
It will be our third year in a row. I am looking forward to it!
I have the alu cab canopy camper and it only 150 lbs heavier than my fiberglass topper

Those are lousey welds, they should be ground smooth.
I found that this topper was much better than fiber and much lighter. Definitely held up together well while on some rough trails.
Yuck, only lousy welders grind a good weld
The purpose of watching this video is to hear what 5 things you dislike about this canopy, but I hear none of your dislikes.
It is a great canopy. When I got to it, I couldn’t come up with five.

Watch some other videos 🤣 There is plenty of trail time and camping in that rig. I have 💩in plenty of holes from that shovel.
On a cheaper note, I bought a used contractor shell with barn doors for $400
Yes! Whatever works for you. That is a great way to go.
@FiveAngelsOutdoor maybe I'll paint it black the write "AluCab" on both sides 😆

Why do people put shovels on the side. They're not used THAT much..sheesh.
