      @@ftorvideo Actually I think the way you and the SXSblog guys test stuff is the most honest I've seen from anyone. When SXSblog was putting on the LSR suspension on Beastmode they mentioned that they tried for 4 hours to put on a gusset kit, it didn't work out but they didn't mention who it was made by or trash talk it. Vary true. Here in MI not a big deal but we where at brimstone 2 weeks ago and rode close to 30 hours in 3 days so mpg could be a issue. First ride this year last weekend. Idaho dunes.KWI clutching was flawless last year. Only difference was I put on an EVO badass belt last week. I couldn't get over 7700 rpms. Talked with EVO rep and I need to lighten up some clutch weights. It's always something.

    • @ftorvideo
      @ftorvideo  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lightening the clutch weights is one option, but it's not the proper option. You need to adjust the clamping pressure of the secondary. You can do this by moving the clocking of the spring from 4 to 6. We have videos on how to do this in our video library, let me know if you need a hand.
      Also, they're about to release a new belt that's supposed to shift like an OEM belt (fixes the RPM drop issue) but still be just as strong as the Bad Ass belt. So maybe just hold tight for about 4 more weeks... we'll be testing that belt on our channel too - so stick around!

    Bad ass bud! Just subbed. My girlfriend and I have been considering getting the Maverick “R” version since we live in the desert and I’m not sure if the others would fare as well with the rocky terrain. What would you recommend for desert with rock/sand as the ground make up?

    • @ftorvideo

      Thanks for the sub Anthony! Much appreciated! I'm pretty sure the R just means it's a the high performance model. They have the 900 high output which is non turbo, the "Turbo" model - with a turbo... And then the Turbo R model which has a turbo and intercooler. I'd always go with the Turbo R model!

    Hey Aaron, we all appreciate your videos but your testing through those tight trails is a bit risky at 90 mph (IMO). If something happened to your car; flat tire, broken tie rod, a-arm, axle or a deer or Sasquatch hitch hiking.... it could be an ugly mess. I am a desert and dune rat so I have never really ran hard in the trees. It just seems a there would be a safer test ground at those speeds. Not trying to preach, just want you to be around form a long time to test all these cool accessories for us!

    Great stress test. I think I'm also more confused now though. I feel like 5 miles with the petal on the floor just doesn't seem like much. Is it just heat that is making them blow? How are long distance racers not always blowing belts? Also Really curious to see how other machines fair against this kinda test.

    • @ftorvideo
      @ftorvideo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey brother! Long distance racers modulate their throttle by monitoring belt temps to keep the belt in a somewhat safe area. It's not a good idea for anyone in an endurance race to keep the peddle down for miles at a time. On and off, let it breath. We weren't interested in letting it breath lol... We just want to see how much abuse it could take in comparison to an OEM belt in extreme heat scenarios. I am completely confident that if we drove with belt temp in mind, this belt would last... A really really long time

    • @DirtyRiceOffroadCrew
      @DirtyRiceOffroadCrew 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yeah i get that you gotta watch the temps and not be on it continuously. Guess I was just more surprised that it happens that quickly.

      Most wide open throttle spurts are like, 600-1000 feet, a football field or two. Not 10,000 feet... Typically lol. And hey, it survived 5 passes over that stretch when the OEM belt would only survive 1!

    • @ftorvideo
      @ftorvideo  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They both already have them. Cvt and belt technology have just gotten so good and efficient, I feel like they may be a while. It's hard to justify the investment when things are getting pretty reliable now. The new GBoost belt is extremely reliable and a cvt is so easy to build and maintain. I'm sure they will eventually

I have done it open throutle max my liniter speed of 85 almost the entire stretch... I have 700 miles plus on my OEM belt in Baja pre running for the 500... My question is... Shame on Can-Am search expensive machine breaking belts in the midst of them off-road Trail. If the belt is prematurely breaking, what else on their vehicle will have a short life? in my my honest opinion for the money you pay for it, this is not acceptable. It is past time for UTV's manufacturers drop you stupid CVT system and have real gearbox. If CVT was a good system all high performance Vehicles what do you use it.
