When he's in the interviews, he's usually referring to in the game. In lore, he is still as fast as a slightly above-average normal anthropomorphic animal without the "rocket skates." This is further proven by Iizuka saying Sonic can't use chaos control in another interview about this game, but everyone knows that is false, including him, as he was there for SA2 and knows Sonic can use chaos control. So, in that interview, he was also saying only in Sonic X Shadow Generations Sonic can't use chaos control.
Takashi Izuka is to Sonic what Hideaki Itsuno was to Devil May Cry, at least in my opinion. Neither were with the series at its start, but they were there for the peak years, the lowest point, and the renaissance of their respective franchises.
@@karoloswanduscangaortiz9078 No. He worked as designer of Sonic 3, then director from SA1 to Shadow 2005 and Rivals games and then producer starting with 06. He also directed Nights games
Nah. Itsuno-san is one of the biggest fans of DMC (and the biggest fan of Dragon's Dogma), that's why he understand what players want. Have you ever seen Iizuka-san playing any of Sonic games? Collecting merch? Making photos with Crush 40? He's manager, not fan.
I think it's funny no one has noticed just how out of touch Sonic Team is with Sonic. They thought people would be really interested in Sonic being in the real world but people were constantly saying they were worried about it being live action and, while the movies were good, they keep saying they want to finally see Sonic's world instead. They were surprised by seeing a Knuckles series announced, as though they hadn't considered that Knuckles was also a well-loved character worthy of his own content... Sonic X Shadow Generations is peak and that seems to be mainly due to the writers and certain people involved with the actual development, combined with luck. They found ideas that they thought would be cool for different reasons than we actually consider them to be cool. It's basically a lightning in a bottle situation. Even with Murder of Sonic, I'm totally not shocked that they were worried about the project, and even though they said they want to challenge themselves more, they didn't seem to notice that it was extremely popular and successful nor do they acknowledge why. lol I think they have Sonic's best interest at hard and generally have good ideas and just happen to fumble here and there. But I think part of it is also them just not knowing wtf makes Sonic popular. They're gonna see the success of this new game and chalk it up to how INTENSE it was but not the other things that make it good like lore and deeper emotions or the level design and challenging gameplay. They seem to think this design is only possible because Shadow has all these powers but Sonic having roughly this level design would be just as fire. Tails, Knuckles and Amy being playable in Frontiers is a step in the right direction but they need more unique gameplay with just as polished physics and level design that is catered to their abilities too.
Excellent analysis! I always wondered why Sonic Team was inconsistent with their development of games across the years. If they had a decent sonic game they'd veer away from what made that game good in the first place. Sonic X Shadow Generations comes off as the first game that included heavy input from fan perspectives and what the fandom desired to see ( shadow anime, seeing shadow at a vulnerable state, seeing what Maria and Shadows friendship was like, his life on the ark, etc).

Dude you'd be surprised how out of touch Japanese devs can be with audiences outside of Japan. I think they don't know how to sift through sources... And it appears any American branch doesn't do a great job reach out to them. I've noticed this once I started to go over their quarterly earnings reports... The amount of times Japanese media makers are surprised by western interest boggles my mind. I can imagine it being hard though... In the west, we praise heavy writing like Maria while also being like "OMG MARIA NOOOO" Yet we'll all secret like "yeeea child may your end fuel this hedgehog's soul" Then the fact that we're all wanting to see Shadow with a gun and saying Damn again. 😂 If you look into the Pokemon leaks, the creators of the anime we're saying that Ash should never win the league. Which is ultra lame. They were so confused how to continue the series that they just ended Ash's run. 😂
No way! I’ve been wanting a Knuckles metroidvania for years. Just think of Knuckles’ move set. It writes itself. And there’s so much lore connected with Knuckles to explore. I think an only Knuckles game would be one of the easiest characters to make a game with.
"Shadow will save the world but he's also sort of fighting for other things too" Yeah, I'll never forget the time he attacked Sonic and friends because they couldn't figure out how to build IKEA furniture and it made him so angry he said "your shoddy craftsmanship brings shame to all hedgehogs and you will perish"
Just dont make Tails and Knuckles pointless and dumb in this movie please. You took them both in the right direction after a decade of poorly written knuckles tails in game.s I believe in you guys
It's important to know that they are much younger in the movie than we're use to them being presented. It took me a little bit to get used to but also, it really grew on me. Also I love dumb Knuckles as I've always thought he was dumb since Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles. Then in SA1, Eggman just tells him it's Sonic's fault and Knuckles just believed him.
Love Iizuka, he does so much to bring love to the Sonic series and games.
He’s been a part of the team since Sonic 3. He’s an OG!
He literally doesn’t though, he’s lost his touch and needs to retire. I feel like he’s a fossil that’s holding the franchise back.
"As fast as Sonic".
Iizuka said it.
not faster nor slower. case closed

Sonic is always getting his ass kicked in these movies 😆
I’m new to the franchise, but if I do even get an S rank, what do I do next?
Either try again and beat your time or move onto the next stage and get S rank there.
Try to beat your time. Find your own shortcuts in the levels. Compare times with your friends.
It's all about getting the time down. The grade score doesn't matter for anything but unlocks (and I think that was just for original generations)
Why do they translate, uh ??? You can skip that part bro 😅

Imagine what Ugly Shadow would have looked like.
