If you put the slider in favor of the attackers and you as the defenders plus add a hundred bots, Ravenwall Isle becomes a literal bloodbath and that's where it shines.
Oh wow, you are one of the very few! And yeah I was pretty shocked with how good the map was compared to its level of effort. I did mess with the bot count eveness, but still found it quite hard to make progress. Regardless, still was solid to play!

As someone who used to make standard maps for RF, it’s a very time consuming job. It’s why I moved from making normal map making to now scripted mission making alongside normal modding now.
I love your older maps! They stand out so much compared to your average map. I do agree though, map making eats up a lot of time depending on the size and level of detail. That said I'd imagine scripted missions is a whole other beast given how new scripted/triggers are for map making.
@ scripted maps are indeed another beast. It’s why I’m completely shifted from normal map making to Hans’ zombies. The Isolated map alone has nearly 200 triggers as well as custom RS scripts. It’s extremely rewarding but very time consuming. Btw keep up the videos. Great style and consistency.
I suddenly feel a lot better about my map with 250 subscribers and 942 views. If he runs into "Air Assault 3.0" at any point, tell him to pair it with the AT-99 Scorpion and run the thing at night.
From my dataset that puts you at about ~2850th out of ~9000, which while not a crazy amount, is certainly more successful than a majority of other maps. I'll be sure to check out your map!
6:42 i would say, this map is a hidden gem. It doesn't look the most appealing, but with the right balance (specifically 2 for raven and 3 for eagle) it is the mose fun map ive played in a long while.
Absolutely fan-flippin'-tastic job on this. I've often liked to filter mods by the least popular in terms of weapons and vehicles and my friends and I will just have a silly RavenM match using that content. Recently I've noticed the Steam Workshop filtering has changed, I'm seeing more mods in the most popular weekly section that are actually quite old. Prior it was almost always mods that came out within the week and now there seems to be more of a mix. The filtering changes seem good or some games and not as good for others. For instance, I've noticed when checking my viewership stats between my Project Zomboid and Ravenfield work, the Zomboid content gets more variation in views over time compared to Ravenfield. Once the weekly bit of fame dies out for a Ravenfield mod it typically ends up dropping in viewer/subscriber count (although around the time videos cover mods they'll get quite a big boost). In contrast, I look at some of my Zomboid content and I'll notice that there is a lot more viewership going on throughout its lifetime. There are things to factor in such as Zomboid's higher player count, genre stuff, etc. etc. Perhaps with this system some older content will start to get featured that may not quite have reached the 'All Time' section and so would end up getting buried in the middle of the Workshop. I guess we'll see what happens!
Thanks!! Yeah... Unfortunately steam doesnt share the formula for how "most popular" actual gets ranked, because the page results are quite the mix. My main thought might be some sort of system that looks at subs and views, and they weights it by time, which is why you might see a recent map with only 100 subs right next to Sofa's Overlord map(75k subs). Super cool insight about the difference between two games' workshops. It's odd that they would get different results yet use the same system. I'm hoping the recommendations for older mods does stay though, its been kind of fun to see old classics!
The most underestimated map in the creative workshops I have visited should be the Topulev. I think the reason why it didn't receive much attention can largely be attributed to its cover not being attractive enough. The author's design in various details of the map exceeds that of the vast majority of authors with similar themes in the creative workshop.If it adopts a cover design similar to Urban City Centre, I think it even has the potential to be recommended on the homepage.
Whenever I'm browsing the Steam Workshop of any game I play, I usually sort by "Newest first" to see whether a popular author published something or anhthing else that might pique my interest. And indeed, the majority of addons there are indeed low-quality maps made in the map editor. And I feel like they give the map editor a bad rep, cause there are some examples of great, high-quality maps made using it! Good video and thanks for the map recommendations too hehe
Sorting by new really is just a buckshot of the most random in game map editor creations, but it's still fun to see what some people are making! The flood of "bad" maps is unforunate, but every now and then someone drops and absolute banger using just the ingame workshop. You probably already saw it but the hoover dam map is incredible!
Awesome vid! I really love delving into the ravenfield workshop too. Heck, I’ve even dabbled in map making myself. Not very well, I might add. So be sure to have a look at my very bad, in game map editor made map: Islas De Caprosa. The one I posted is very much a prototype, I think the idea I was going for was to have one area for each terrain type, but it’s very unfinished. Also lots of vehicles, so give it a look. I am however also working on a new map (also in the in game editor cause idk unity) that will hopefully be a lot better…. Any tips would be appreciated.

It was quite unexpected to see my map, made just for multiplayer, from memory from maps from CSS servers. It was the only fun, after which I started a detailed map, which I still haven't been able to complete, and it's not a fact that it will come out. After that, I just came to add just musical mutators, which many probably saw even in the workshop, and in general it was the best thing I could bring to the list of mods for our game. The map is mine at 5:33
A video idea for you is how to set up mutators and test with different configurations. One of the mutators that I had difficulty using and configuring is Day & Light, Ragdoll, Bodycam, etc.

Hey i don't know if you know about this issue but i have this thing that ravenfield will get more and morr stutter for each workshop mutator i have (not vanilla ones), like, even if i have them turned off, just by having them downloaded the game starts a painful rollercoaster of stuttering, leaving me at less than 15 fps if i have more than 10 mutators downloaded, but the game starts performing without any stutter once i uninstall (not disabling in game) all the mutators from the game properties on steam. What can possibly cause this? even with the bodycam mutator, stutter starts and it's horrible, i don't know what to do, even if i enjoy the game without any workshop mutators im as well concerned about why it stutters with them. And no, my ravenfield won't stutter or get lag with any other mods that aren't mutators like weapons, guns, vehicles and maps.
Unfortunately I don't know a fix. I was dealing with this same issue while working on a future video and basically found the same thing: the game runs smoother with absolutely no mods installed vs having mods installed and not using them at all. My best guess would be mutators might actively be idle in the background for some reason, or there existence forces the game to check more things while running? The best thing to do might be to try and weed out the specific mutators that cause lag and remove them (not the greatest solution sadly). see my problem with the map editor/workshop is like i for example have made my own map called Dry Nexus and well it wasnt intill i published it that i found out your cant change the thumbnail picture of the workshop item you had to like publish the map with the picture you wanted as a thumbnail in some folder or something i think.
I thinks thats a good idea! Currently I have no plans, but I think at some point I'll look into it since the big reason for so many "bad" maps is the in game map editor, whereas weapons requires a decent understanding of unity and modding, so the floor is likely higher

Hey sorry I missed this comment, but I have it set at 0 spring and 3 stiffness, I set it through Lemieux gore 2 mod, but it should functionally be the same
The map is Honey Badger Road: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3102735011 And no mod needed, hit markers and kill indicators can be toggled off in the settings! I believe hitmarkers control the actual hitmarker as well as the hit sound.
So there is a mutator called ADS Zoom Toggle that does this, however from a quick test it seems to reduce it to a "slight" zoom, but mostly still works. The work around that I'd suggest would be Soarins Body Cam mod, with everything set to zero and toggled off. This essentially removes all the aspects of what the mod brings, but still enables the "no zoom" on ads part. The only downside from this method is that there is a slight natural sway added from the mod, though its not too bad. This is the extent of what I'm aware of, so I hope this can help! Yea. When tweaking the balance of the map I got attached to the idea of eagle needing superior number to break the defences.

Hey man, i got a question. Do you have a mod that doesnt decrease the fov when aiming down ghe sights?
So there is a mutator called ADS Zoom Toggle that does this, however from a quick test it seems to reduce it to a "slight" zoom, but mostly still works.
The work around that I'd suggest would be Soarins Body Cam mod, with everything set to zero and toggled off. This essentially removes all the aspects of what the mod brings, but still enables the "no zoom" on ads part. The only downside from this method is that there is a slight natural sway added from the mod, though its not too bad.

Thanks man! After playing the Rougelike maps 1 and 2, I genuinely got pissed with how constricting the FOV is when aiming down sights, due to the map's CQC centered playstyle.

Thanks! I enjoy Ravenfield for content creation because it offers so much creative freedom for video ideas. While it's a smaller niche, I haven't really found another topic/audience I could stick with long-term like ravenfield
