  • With different magnification ranges, it is hard to compare apples to apples but there are some meaningful discussion points. To see the reticles go to the 2:40 mark for a 5 second shot of each on 10x looking at an 800 yard target. Weight: Burris is 6 oz. lighter. Glass, Meopta offers better glass quality, particularly as expressed by resolution at higher mag. Meopta also gets the edge for a more forgiving eye box. If illumination is a must, you need to go with the Burris or a different Meopta reticle. This particular Burris is made in China, though it has the forever warranty. The Meopta is assembled in the Czech Republic and also has a lifetime warranty. Both good pieces of kit, just depends on what bells and whistles you are looking for. I just discovered your channel while attempting to do some research on scopes specifically designed for 6.5 Creedmoor BDC. The scope will sit on top of my 6.5 Creedmoor year-round to include deer hunting season (so I want a scope with good light transmission and clarity during those dawn and dusk hours) and off-season doing some target shooting at a range no longer than 700 yards. I was looking at spending between $800 and $1000 on the optic, but somebody just listed the Burris 5-25×50 with the 6.5 reticle for $550 in my local Facebook marketplace. Since I don’t have any experience with any of these scopes, do you think the Burris for $550 is a solid buy vs purchasing one of the other options (Meopta, PA ACCS, or Vortex) between $800 and $1000? Any advice or recommendation would be appreciated.

      Is it the RT-25? th-cam.com/video/4XozTg_q4SY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DrxCeunzEBI52g4j it is made in China if so which might or might not be important to you. Signature also made in China th-cam.com/video/9DMbJxwCfwY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SgVxiM1dsG0APaFB but was VERY clear. If I didn't like the Meopta so much I would have had a Leupold or the Burris. Do you you care about illumination and how busy can the reticle be? For me the balance is that on my hunting stuff I like a very simple reticle (I have a duplex on my Rem 700) but for targets I will tolerate more clutter (like the xmass tree on my xtr ii and vortex pst gen 2).

      @@valhallaoutfitter - It is the 50mm Burris Signature that he is selling model 200535. There are so many other items in my home made in China that I have to overlook that the Burris Signature is made in China. I currently have a Luepold VX-3i 4.5-14x50 with duplex reticle on the 6.5 but will be moving that scope to a different rifle dedicated to only hunting.

      @@valhallaoutfitter - Illumination is a bonus, but not mandatory. I don’t like an overly busy reticle, for example, I don’t mind the Primary Arms ACCS reticle but the Primary Arms Athena reticle just has too much going on for my taste (and I don’t have experience with either one of those in person, that is just the opinion I have developed by researching those scopes.

    How do they both perform in low light? Also does the Meopta inidcate in the box that they are assembled in Czech ? I have an impression that they are made in china ?

      I will take them out at dusk tonight and replay again. To see all the info on manufacturing I was able to get see the last section of this post: www.tacticalandpractical.net/post/meopta-the-beast-from-the-east-worth-czeching-out
      The scope is stamped Meopta Czech Republic; though I do not know how a MIC sticker is mandated (% of parts, assembly, etc).

      Good question, here is everything I could find out www.valhallaoutfitter.com/post/meopta-the-beast-from-the-east-worth-czeching-out its in the last paragraph. I just checked my records, I paid 500 for the RT 5-25 and 642 for the Signature you are looking at brand new. If the scope is clean 550 is fair, if you give him 500 for it you are doing very well. It is a super nice scope; both grab enough light for me to shoot to the end of the last bit of light.

      @@valhallaoutfitter Meopta has a 4.5-27 x50 FFP scope which is almost identical to Athlon Ares etr, I see them both made in china. The scope made in Czech cant be possibly sold for under 1000/1500 price range I think due to cost of labor.

    How does the optika 6 compare optically to your Veracity PH?

    • @valhallaoutfitter
      @valhallaoutfitter  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I had the Veracity 50, not the PH, but I imagine the glass is the same, the range finder is the major difference. Reticle selection is better with the Meopta. They are both very well made and with very clear glass. Right now the PH is on sale for 799. If I wasn't happy with what I have I would probably get one. That being said, if you are thinking about the non-PH Veracity, I kept the Meopta and got rid of the Burris for what its worth. They are both clear, crisp, scopes, I just gave a slight edge to the Meopta overall.
