    The explanation on how to replace the bolt and lever cover at 10:15 was a thing of beauty! Every other video has an "awkward moment" when trying to reassemble with the bolt in the cover. Thanks for this video!

      Thank you Brother. it took me a while to figure out this method as I too saw many other “how to” videos on it and never could do it easily or consistently. thanks for watching and the comment, hope this helps you during your firearm cleaning and maintenance.

      Hey thanks for that Brother. Most of my videos are merely the easiest way I have found to clean, disassembly and reassemble firearms. This one in particular I had a tough time with, couldn’t find a consistent or easy video on how to put in the bolt and receiver cover so after messing around stumbled onto this way and I have received a lot of positive feedback. Thanks for watching and subscribing, happy pew pew on.

    I found you because you're the only one who knows how to put the bolt and cover back on. Thank you!

    This reassembly technique is MONEY! So much easier than the "preferred recommended" method. Worked perfectly on both our Henry rifles. Thanks for posting!

    Need to make sure the chamber is also clear not just the tube magazine.

    • @JohnVanDyk
      @JohnVanDyk  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yes I have noticed it’s not a true clearing of the firearm. it has been pointed out to me and I have edited the description to reflect just that. good catch just the same on safety 👍 my future videos now have a prerecorded video added at the beginning on firearm clearing. Thank you for watching and for the comment.

    Pulling that hammer down to the first click will click on the safety. Those are external tooth star washers. Those would come in handy for extra cleaning on a regular basis.
    Thanks for simplifying the receiver cover removal and reinstall

      Funny thing is just had it out to the range a day ago and afterwards I cleaned it but now I have a bore snake rather than a rod and patches… way better lol

    Wouldn’t you also cycle the action after removing the magazine tube to make sure the chamber is empty?
    Excellent video overall.

      yes absolutely upon re watching this video I did not safe check the firearm properly on camera. I assure you I do ensure my firearms are safe before engaging in any repair/ cleaning… good call though thank you for the comment 👍👍

    Hi John. This video is so helpful! Thank you! I have a round jammed in the feed tube (outer tube). No round in the chamber. Do you know how to remove a round jammed in the outer feed tube? Cheers

    • @peterevans8070
      @peterevans8070 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually ... I know what I did - a dumb thing - I dropped a .17HMR round in there instead of a .22 :-(.
      Any advice from anyone familiar with these rifles much appreciated.

    How do you get the cover off if it is jammed?

    • @JohnVanDyk
      @JohnVanDyk  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Tough one to answer without more information. Is the receiver jammed, is there a round jammed, is it a bolt jam issue?

    You talking about putting the buttstock back on backwards I did that my very first time taking it apart and I forced to butt stock on the wrong way and I broke the ear off the top cover that goes over the receiver and I had to buy a new hole cover from Henry

    • @JohnVanDyk
      @JohnVanDyk  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      on the Henry I have there is only the one butt stock screw and the fore stock has none. mine is a newer model, maybe you have an older model? thanks for you comment.
