No more ugly comments guys (GIVEAWAY IS OVER), thanks for participation in an attempt to trick the algorithms. It didn’t work unfortunately. On a happy note, we have a winner, Sigurius’s comment won the lottery, happy for you. Cheers to all of you, don’t miss out on lamps (only 100 of them), get one for yourself!
have been a follower of your work since your 'better than ikea' video went viral. Truly inspiring work. Can't believe people pay for expensive ugly lamps while a lot of small creators like yourself sell such great lamps on a budget.
Your life journey and design process is fascinating, also I am reminded of what an amazing time it is to be alive now. When an individual with vision and determination can design and manufacture an item such as this single handily in their own home, wow! Thank you for sharing.👏👏👏
doesn't beauty come from accepting what is ugly. I randomly found your channel while searching channels that deal with product and industrial design and I am glad I found you
Frosted plate presents itself snug, lyingly simple design. Looking on desk or near a rug, lything the night, attracting the bug. Lyrical spill of light.
This is very awesome and inspiring!! This design is nice and not ugly at all. I’m proud of you for your journey into being a dreamer that brought your dream to reality🙂!!
Its great watching tour progress, making ”ugly” parts into beautiful lamps. Beautly lies in the eye of the beholder though and I can really enjoy the look of uglybparts such as a potentiometer or the colors of a resistor! Keep up the good work, it’s really inspiring how you share the progres. Oh, and the aluminum bending jig is gorgeous!
Incredibly UGLY would be the last words I'd be thinking about when seeing this awesome lamp. Nice process. Thanks for the backstory. I know the giveaway is over;)
Even though it might look like an ugly, misshapen potato, this lamp is actually a brilliant source of light that adds character to any room. Good pièce of art 👍
Yt first recommended your vid about your Workbench to me, and i really fell in love with your channel. So much care put into everything, not just your designing and building, but also the framing and production side of the videos is great. I really like you "ugly" lamps and would cop one if I had the money, but since i am a broke college student, I will try my luck winning one; keep up the good work!
From Türkmenistan, where even the camels are critics, comes a lamp so uniquely ugly, it's made the darkness ask for a night light. But in all fairness, beauty is in the eye of the lamp-holder. You have officially made ugly the new dazzling!
i used to think im ugly then i stopped thinking anyways like two weeks ago i got access to a metal laser cutter so today i started making a cardboard prototype of my first (maybe lol) product sat down on my computer to watch youtube while eating and this is one of the videos that popped up im gonna use the method you used to bend lmk where i can learn more stuff like that please
If you want a universal solution, I don’t think there’s a perfect diy one out there, for custom options this method and the one I will talk about in the next video is what I think works best. Spoiler alert, it’s a press, not a bending type of machine
There are subtle nuances to ugliness. In contrast to human ugliness, the ugliness of objects seems to be limited to the sheer fact their existance. This is a fallacy, objects can evoke deep feelings. E.g. that their proportions are displeasing to the eye or that they appear clumsy in relation to their surroundings. However, what bothers me about your lamp is neither the price nor the fact that you built and designed it yourself. That shows a lively soul. As a matter of fact, I find that worthwhile. Back to the ugliness of your product. It does not surpass other contemporary designs in this aspect. So i have note, if it was to create the uglliest lamp, you have failed. Rather, it combines aspects of modern space aesthetics through the choice of colour, material and utilitarianism. Nevertheless, I do detest the combination of the disc and the curved body as a design element. It could be worse. I am very grateful that you did not use wood as a material. That would have made it uttertly detestable. Then it would have been true ugliness and true tastelessness. As it is, it is plainly ugly. Furthermore I have to state, that I find it concerning you choose to intergrate a battery in a lamp. It creates a conundrum in the purpose of this object. For a matter a lamp is supposed to illuminate, its sole meaningful function. But this creation is bound to the capacity of its charge. And the hassle it creates to recharge, for a simple light? Thats an ugly choice. I hope you enjoy your further endeavours. Keep creating further abominations
Okay, wow, fyi, this comment section was supposed to be everything but beautiful, even though you were speaking about ugliness of the situation and the object itself, you’ve done it gorgeously, congrats, probably no comment will top this one. On a side note 😅 battery stops it’s charging process when you plug it in, meaning you can leave it plugged in without worrying that battery goes bad because of this. Which makes it superior to the weaker cord lamps, which have no choice but to stay connected to the grid. But with this lamp, you can go skiing in the dark for instance 🤷🏼♂️ Thank you for many kind words, this is exactly how this product is different from off the shelf ones, this comment is a part of it’s story now))
Its very hard to find a lamp that is not ugly, usually I tend to go for the most basic, simplistic lamp I can find. IKEA remains a good source for those
Swed detected💢😁 i actually like IKEA too. But as i said, this product is different, you observe how it was "born", you see the whole story from start to finish
@@alimp_designsIndeed, its good to see a story from start to finish, gives more attachment to the product as well, it gets a story and isn't just an object as a result of a need. IKEA has not been a stranger to sharing insights through the ages though and has from time to time shared their design process and their designers insights. For instance when launching a new line.
To have this lamp I can do everything, I can even say that my mum is ugly. OH NO, SHE HEARD ME, PLEASE MAMA I WAS JOKING, DON’T THROW YOUR SLIPPERS AT ME 🤕
In my previous video, someone called my lamp ugly, at first I thought it didn’t matter, or whatever, then I thought how to prevent this?! And this comment just proves that it worked, it’s now impossible to tell who really thinks it’s ugly😬

The cinematography, editing, and renders are unreal, I'm surprised you only have 6k followers. And your lamps are far from ugly 😉!
Ugly means "unattractive". In your case that's a crime to call them ugly. Your lamps are awesome!!!
I love how your design meets form, function and uglyness
Ugly is merely a journey to a beauty not yet appreciated

Thank you. i hope this one gets a little of that virality too.
That is not an ugly lamp! that's gorgeous!

Ugly is not the word I would use to describe this lam. Well done on the project and wishing you success

Lyrical spill of light.
Hello from Uzbekistan.
This is very awesome and inspiring!! This design is nice and not ugly at all. I’m proud of you for your journey into being a dreamer that brought your dream to reality🙂!!
I appreciate the support. Thank you.
Finally, somewhere to display my ugly pile of records ☺️
I don't remember why i subscrbue but i'm happy to see this not ugly lamp. I would love to support your vision.
Your lamp is ugly in all the right ways, I love it. I especially love the look with the vinyl on it. Best of luck to you.
Not a Ugly lamp at all. I love the design , its very original.

Wait until you see the new toy for bending aluminum (next video)👀
Lovely process! Ugly is subjective, just make it!
loved this one
Great to see your design process! Ugly is in the eyes of the beholder
Happy to trick the ugly algorithms to help support growing your channel! Hope you see you at 10K soon! And 100K soon after!
These algorithms are cruel) you can’t explain them that it’s your career on the line) thank you, I hope this one grows too.
Incredibly UGLY would be the last words I'd be thinking about when seeing this awesome lamp. Nice process. Thanks for the backstory. I know the giveaway is over;)
Thanks man!
Ugly is a harsh word to describe an almost minimalist, clean looking lamp.

Ugly ugly beatiful, the circle is complete~
A beautiful lamp, nothing ugly about it

Heyyy, now i can actually keep my kidney🥳🥳
A standing ovation for the ugly lamp that dared to dream differently. It's not just a design; it's a rebellion against the ordinary
Ultra Groovy Light Yoh
Ugly is just a matter of perspective.
Anyone calling this ugly must be looking in another direction entirely!
It looks amazing, honestly my old IKEA lamp needs to go. Anyway its (not) ugly.
IKEA, beware, I’m coming.. 👀
What a beautiful ugly lamp. Keep up the great work
🙌🏻thank you
Your lamp is definitely not ugly!
The only ugly thing will be the cinematic video I will make of the lamp 😉
So exciting👌🏻
Great work!

Have listened to "When You’re Ugly" by Louis Cole? It's super funky!
Ah, behold the lamp: so ugly, its a masterpiece in disguise
As a design student, I hope to make such ugly lamps like these one day.

Excellent videos man! Everything involved, the product, design, storytelling, renders, editing, all fantastic. The lamp is ugly tho... JK haha
Should be titled "How I tried to build an ugly and expensive lamp and failed"
are you the guy behind ussa woodworking ?
That’s my friend)
The only reason I would call it ugly is because I didn't came up with this great and playful design myself.
That lamp is so ugly that I want it now.
Ugly. Great job! This design speaks to me.
Why it so unugly?
no more ugly prices
Like I even wanna win an Ugly lamp
This lamp almost makes all others look ugly by comparison

sorry, forgot to mention it.
You have utterly failed at making an ugly lamp. Maybe you should try making beautiful ones cause you do seem to be quite talented at that.

I thought you wanted to make the lamp _less_ ugly? Looks like a component from an industrial meat processing plant.

a nice lamp in an ugly world
It would get ugly quick if i didn't win a lamp
Kinda not ugly
Your lamp is so ugly, I had to move back to America in order to pay more to offset the amount of effort you put in.
i have no idea what you've said, but i have a feeling it's intended to be good😅 so thank you
