I've heard they are pretty expensive, but it might be worth it for the amount of filament you are using. And it might keep the EPA from nuking you from orbit.
Unlikely as it is that you could orchestrate the exact timing of the collapse, I'm going to give you the credit anyway since it was an absolutely PERFECT ending.
Good enough is GOOD ENOUGH!!! Welcome to ADHD, I built my house like 5 years ago and I still haven't finished painting half of it :/ Why paint, when there are things that haven't been 3d printed yet!?!?!?

This would make an amazing lawn ornament / bird bath. It's self refilling and can be easily cleaned by flushing. The birds can perch on the arm rests and even get snacks from the cup holder.
I've been waiting for a reason to justify to my wife purchasing a 3D printer. I feel this will surely tip the balance in my favor. I'm so glad I found you on the Maker Secret Santa. Have a happy new year!
Where can I find an engineer wife with questionable creative tendencies, but with a solid level of mental stability like Emily? To appease the Woke Gods, she needs make a plastic recycler next. Even if she didn't use it as filament, she could figure out a way to "repurpose" it.
I don't think this technique would work super well for this project where you are gluing separate parts together, but for making waterproof parts I've had excellent luck with vapor polishing ABS parts using acetone. It's normally done to get a smooth outer surface, but since the acetone vapor melts the outer surface into a smooth layer it also helps seal up leaks between the layer lines.
I dunno about anyone else but this toilet (minus the bidet, wheels, arm-rests, etc) looks like it belongs in the Museum of Modern Art. It reminds me a lot of Picasso with all of the colors in a "cubist" style. I get the thing was made almost as a joke but it's given me a bunch of ideas for engineering-inspired art pieces.
I haven’t checked on you channel in almost a year so I’m now watching all videos from newest to oldest and every time I see a video title I die laughing, good job
Honestly not a terrible idea to build for a burn. Sure it would probably be destroyed after the week but having your own private shitter is always a bonus.
Designing a toilet from a basic idea of how the trap works, and winging it without bothering to examine an actual toilet. Leaking problems can easily be solved by brushing on clear polyurethane.
Please print a reclining toilet with foot rest. i don't think anyone in the history of the world has ever dropped the kids at the pool in the reclining position.
The "issue" of using so much plastic isn't terrible here imo. You made one of these and honestly your printing techniques aren't super advanced, but also more effort always needs more time. You have gotten me thinking about very large object design. Past a certain size it's not practical to rely on or even use infill. Anyways this is a super cool toilet regardless. It is kind of an older and more basic design. Not a siphoning toilet. Still love it though cuz it is still a toilet. Also, the outlet holes are so small like a rat could clog it 😅. Omg I love the bidet tho. This toilet is actually a good bidet

I'm over here feeling bad because I'm not getting usable parts right off the Hop for parts that take like 20 g of plastic a piece... And here is Emily printing an entire extra large toilet with features. LOL
Turning the valve on your hose doesn't lower the pressure. It lowers flow rate, but the pressure it reaches, when closed, is just as high as if the valve were fully open. Pressure equalises, it just takes more time through a smaller hole ;)
The 'flapper valve' that you printed from TPU is typically a rubber that floats, even in commercial toilets. The pressure of the water, trying to go through the hole, is what holds it down.
I love how people go to school, learn how to use programs and machines that can and have revolutionized home projects and more, and people use it for this. Amazing entertainment
BTW for plastic welding, you could also use a line of PLA plastic in one hand and hold it with the soldering iron in the other hand and melt the line of plastic to add extra material if you wanted. Kinda like TIG welding. Its hard to explain but yeah.
I believe the falling in thing would be a problem with any toilet without a seat, the fact you eventually added a lid without adding the seat is extra cursed
