I’m stage 2 but gyn scheduled me for surgery. I can touch my bladder and I have to splint to poop. I also have to have another to tighten vagina and possible take part of cervix they left at hysterectomy and then lap to see if I have endometriosis again , uterus was removed 2017 and they see it on ct scan dr thinks it’s endo
Years ago a gyn surgeon warned against mesh surgery. ( I have grade 3 cystocele.) I tried several pessaries that weren't very effective. Finally sent to specialist who prescibed a ring pessary with a knob. Thank goodness, it works well. Fairly easy to remove (with removal tool), clean and reinsert. I am pain-free and can go about my daily life with no prolapse. This has made life much easier. (I am 77.)
My wife is 65. She had her hysterectomy done 35 years ago. Now she has vault prolapse with cystocele. The surgeon has recommended sacrocolpopexy with mesh. How are you now three years after surgery?
Can you please give guidance do and don't after surgery as I m planning for my surgery suggested by my doctor... Bt m scared about it's reoccurence.....
I’m so glad I came across your video. Last year in Oct 2020 I had a partial hysterectomy due to uterine prolapse and endometriosis, months later I noticed a bulge and it was my bladder. Just 4 days ago I had the exact surgery you underwent, I’m currently recovering and now feel so much better that I’ve made the right choice. Thank you for sharing your experience
I am glad you have relief and pray that it works in the long run for you ❤ I just wish more women would have opened up about what a hysterectomy can cause as far as prolapse
Oh god so happy it helped you I had my surgery on Nov 16.23 Friday I’m 4days past surgery I kind of wish I knew about trying some natural ways to help me with that bump at the entrance of my V doctor said I was between a 2-3 and she recommended surgery a mesh thing.. how are you doing now? ? See I don’t know if I want 1 more kid and I did the surgery but I’m 39 times like ticking and single lol.
Your video has helped me so much! I was just told today, by my gynocologist, that I need to have bladder prolapse surgery. I was scared, but after watching your video, I feel so much better! I have a severe, stage 4 prolapse, and I am being sent to a urogynocologist for the surgery. I now feel ready to ask the right questions, thanks to you!!!
My mom is going through the surgery today as we speak she's in her late sixties and has a lot of medical problems I'm very worried for her but I'm putting my trust in God thank you for your video have a blessed day
@@kathyhasty5519 thank you so much for the well wishes he's doing okay the worst part is he doesn't have money to get her pain medication she's in a lot of pain from it they use the laser on seven different areas they only gave her enough pain meds for one day I feel so bad for her I'm trying to do everything to get the money up now to get her script
Hopefully she isn’t sensitive to foreign material because the mesh can cause autoimmune conditions which could destroy her quality of life. Look online at all the mesh lawsuits.
I just want to say thank you for putting yourself out there and sharing your story. I came across your video when doing research. My surgery was scheduled with my longtime GYN. I too loved with mine prolapse for 8 years and had the very same issues as you minus the endometriosis’. I asked for a referral to a UROGyno. I’m so happy I did. He gave me lots more information and I felt so much better about having the surgery. I had the UROGyno do my surgery and I have 12 days post surgery. I can poop and pee so much better! TMI , I know, but sooo life changing for me. Thank you again
How are you doing now? I’m thinking of getting the surgery. I just want to know like all of the pros and cons of getting the surgery specifically from someone that has actually experienced it. Does it make the vagina area feel tighter like back to normal before all of this happened?? Does it take away the heaviness feeling? Does you vagina look different or back to normal? Do you see the bulge or did it mess your vagina up by them tampering with it? Sorry I just feel like nobody talks about that stuff and I NEED to know ALL the info! Lol. Tmi but hope you get it since you have experienced the same thing. I’m 28 and had the vacuum assist birth and very very quick birth. Had a tear. They didn’t even allow me to try to push the baby out. They basically just ripped her out to be honest. Like my body was forced into labor bc they wanted to do a balloon. Insisted that I did it actually. Anyway, I feel all of that is why I have the prolapse now. Just want details on what it looks, feels like afterwards- and of course if you would do it all over again? Thanks!
I just came across your video, two days after the same surgery you had, for the same exact reasons. It was so affirming to hear your story and it validated my feelings and the decision I made. I watched your after surgery video as well. Thank you for your openness and willingness to share and educate. I plan to share your video information with my urogynycologist when I see her in two weeks. 🙏🏻
Mine went well, wish I did it long time ago. Get the surgery. Women don't talk about this. You can get it fix. I'm 73, had surgery end of May. Doing great!
@@donnawhiteturkey7240 Thank you for the feedback that it went well. I am so nervous to get mine done. Everything is falling out of me and I am stressing over it! I am scheduled for next month.
Had a similar surgery 2 weeks ago, your video was informative and I wish I would’ve done more research on what the exact procedures meant. Taking it easy has been tough and constipation is a reality and increased pain. No one seems to understand the depth of the pain when there are several surgeries done at the same time. I feel my surgeon was thorough and hope it lasts decades
Do you eat a variety of foods that help combat constipation? I do not want to diminish your experience by saying “oh just eat this…” but I am wondering if you consider your foods carefully. I do. I have to choose the right combo of foods everyday to ensure my body eliminates properly so that I don’t have all that pressure. Also, I am a fan of probiotics and exercise to help with easier digestion too. I’ve had to make a lot of lifestyle changes but I finally feel like a have more control over my life and feel more free of this condition ❤
Hi I had my surgery on Nov 16.23 just on Friday how are you? I just msg my doctor saying I’m watching this and she said for me to not watch stuff online. How are you?
Thank you for the information. I am trying to make this decision right now. I am 69 and feel like I have been very lucky to have gone this long without having any problems. I really appreciate your candor. I found an excellent Gyno/Urolog. My biggest concern was the totally hysterectomy, but the more I read it is the best thing to do. I will read you Guide!
Thank you for sharing. I am 75 doing this, but my life is very isolating and I want to do things like walk with groups and not have to stop the group looking for a bathroom. Unless they are an older group in the late 60s or 70s, a younger group of women say 40 don't really understand. I was told 20% relapse again, that gives me 80% it will be okay.
Grace Did you have your surgery for Cystocele? I'm 73 & may possibly end up having this surgery . But it scares me. Hope you recovered & please let me know how it went. Thank You!
I had mesh surgery at age 60 12 years ago. It was transvaginal mesh and it was the beginning of hell. Within 3 months the surgery failed and I had terrible pain in my low back and down both legs. I went to 3 urogynocologists ALL argued it had nothing to do with my surgery, even though I knew it was. Then I went to 5 other specialists. Each one had their own bias "it is spinal stenous", "it is brain damage from a car accident from 50 years ago', "it is ankalosing spondylis" --- BUT I JUST KNEW!!! After 10 years of agony....I finally got fitted for a pessary. I walked into the office with my cane barely able to walk because of my pain, and sciatic in my low back, hip, knee and down to my toes. As soon as the pessary was put it, ALL my sciatic pain lest and 50% of my other leg pain left. PESSARIES WORK...don't get sold on surgery!!!!!!
I think it depends on the needs of the patient. I have heard so many great things about pessary and they should always be tried before surgery. For me, when I tried a pessary it hurt more and didn't help to hold up anything. Instead it fell behind the uterine prolapse making it far worse. But I also have stage 4 prolapse at 15 years old. So doctors doubted it would work but tried it anyways because my life is hell with my prolapse. But glad we tried it beforehand to make sure
@@sweetberries683 do you feel it is helpful? Or does it feel like pressure has been lifted? Also how old are you, if you don't mind me asking? And is the mesh causing any irriation right now?
How are you doing now. Everything still going well? Having the same exact surgery coming up. I’m so happy you had a good outcome. It gives me hope! Thanks
Thank you for sharing. Your videos so far have helped me so much in this process. I have been struggling and trying to manage this for 6 years. My surgery is scheduled for July with my urogynocologist, so this video is perfect timing. So much info online is terrifying, thank you for being so optimistic and informative 💗
Thank you for this! I had a hysterectomy a couple of years ago and now have the vault and bladder prolapse. I'm having surgery in a few weeks and am happy to hear the you're pleased with your results!
Thank you for this video. I found it very helpful. Just found out today that my prolapse has worsened since I was last examined over 1.5 years ago. I've lived with cystocele and rectocele since a traumatic birth 4 years ago. The consultant confirmed my worst fears that I have a uterine prolapse too. I've tried everything to manage things conservatively so far but consultant suggesting surgery now. I'm terrified at the prospect so watching your video tonight was very timely for me. Its really helped! I've decided I will continue to hold off surgery for as long as I can but being nearly 41 years old I also am taking into account your comment re deciding to have your surgery as a younger woman before menopause.
My mom had the bladder prolapse surgery at 75 yrs. old. She did great. In and out in a day, little soreness. On oxycodone for 3 days tge 325 mil grams of Tylenol and in 4 days feeling great
I recommend surgery. I had mine since 2005. Had hysterectomy, 2018. Then, Dr sent me for physical therapy. Didn't fix it. Went to a OBGYN and had it fix, almost a month ago. I'm 73, and I suggest surgery. It was easy and I feel like a new woman! You don't have to live with it.
@@donnawhiteturkey7240 the hospital talk patients out of it now. I'm using pessary because they say skin tissue too thin, won't hold up. Do they sew you closed? I'm so confused. I'm 66 years of age. I wish they could just give me the surgery, but they keep putting me off. Gyno was young woman and confused me to no end. She made me think I was not going to be able to improve with surgery. ☹
I have all 3 of these from the age of 38 . 4years later. I’ve tried all the pessarys which wouldn’t stay in they just fell out the same day. I’m Waiting for surgery and full hysterectomy I’m in to much pain it’s so frustrating and surgery scares me. Great video .
Thank you mine fell down last night I pushed it back in went to an ER today of course he couldn't do anything, gave me antibiotics, for my kidney infection,,going Monday to an OBGYN ,,to get me fixed oh I'm 65 ,I've had 4 births ,menopause ten year's ago ,,it's a scary thing to think your uterus has fell out more scary to find out its a bladder 😇
Exactly! I don’t want to live like this anymore! I’m scheduled for a complete hysterectomy with vaginal correction(?) for prolapses this month. I’m 59 so menopause isn’t an issue and to be honest I’m looking forward to a rejuvenated me. But I opted out of the mesh. I hope I didn’t make a mistake 😩
@@keeliekalayidol8876 the hysterectomy itself was not a big deal. The reconstruction of the anterior and posterior vaginal walls was more to recover from. Two months ago I started a rejuvenation laser therapy that helps with dryness and further tightens and strengthens the walls and as a nice side effect it stops bladder leakage, which was my main complaint.
@@elemis2826 Happy that you're doing ok. Thanks for your reply. I've been struggling through this alone (have a gyno but no females really to talk with) and try not to overwhelm myself with videos. It's been tough. But the prolapse has been the worse since going through perimenopause.....about 4 months w/out periods now. Grateful for that because I have a fibroid tumor in an awkward area. Changed my diet completely and within 7 mos or so lost nearly 40 lbs and began a quicker path toward menopause. BUT now the prolapse 😟 Just started kegels as an actual routine a few days ago. I know it takes time. But scared of a possible hysterectomy and reconstructive things simultaneously. My youngest has multiple mental illnesses and can't literally be without me and I have no idea how long until I'd be back home. Did you ever try the "pessary" thing or kegel weights/tools, if so are they even worth a try in your opinion? Sorry if a bother, I don't want you to feel like you have to reply. But I appreciate your kindness. Hoping for the best for you 🌺
@@keeliekalayidol8876 no bother at all! I tried kegals, but I just couldn’t get the result I needed to feel good about my anatomy. Maybe I was too far gone. I was told at a very young age that my uterus was tipped. I didn’t even know what that meant. I asked my dr how women used to deal with it, because as I’ve went through this journey I’ve realized how not alone I am. She told me they just let it all hang out. 🥺 I will say that you will need some help for a couple weeks especially if your child needs special care. You already know that healing processes better when you can rest and be relaxed. You wouldn’t want to do anything that can mess up the work you endured. The pain isn’t unbearable but having bowel movements is a challenge. Now, I need to go through your videos and find inspiration to lose 30-40 pounds. 💕 PS - one plus of having surgery is that you don’t have to worry about associated cancers. And by the way I did not have the mesh.
@@elemis2826 Me too! I also have a tilted uterus. I've never known anyone else personally with it 🤗 I do feel a little better with your correspondence. Thank you 💗 Oh! As for weight loss I felt miserable at first because I went strictly to pistachios, peanuts, cauliflower & broccoli both raw and steamed, teriyaki noodles, mushrooms, baked potatoes with no butter just salt and pepper, etc. I add organic garlic to any and everything possible most of the time. Even garlic powder at times. I even purposefully eat baby carrots to keep my estrogen low and somewhat balanced to help a healthy perimenopause and in about 8 months have shrunk my fibroid tumor 2 cm. I went as organic as possible because even the spray on non organic apples have hormones. My favorite snacks are banana and or apple slices w/Jif peanut butter. I don't measure. I only eat pasta maybe once a month and it's strictly Barilla protein pasta now. I quit consuming dairy EXCEPT I do have some pizza a couple times a month and maybe a dab of sour cream with 1 baked potato once or twice a month but the rest of the potatoes salt & pepper & garlic powder, maybe crushed red peppers. I eat a hard boiled egg a few times a month and my favorite treat is an iced, Annihilator with white chocolate at Dutch Bros (sometimes with Almond milk instead of their 1/2 & 1/2). Black olives straight from the can or with black bean burritos a few times a month......I found that honey graham crackers smeared with Jif tastes IDENTICAL to Nutter Butter cookies 😉 Because of the fibroid tumor (and previous heavybleeds) I would do gentle pilates and walk whenever possible. Sometimes shooting hoops and tennis or hitting a volleyball over & over in the air as I walked around. It took determination and tears of perseverance honestly. I'll slip and have homemade french toast with no limit or eat 3 fries from one of the kids McD's meals (which are now limited too for their sake...instead of weekly those trips are a few times a month). THANK YOU again 🤗🤘💗 You're truly awesome and much appreciated. If you need an ear I'm here.
I would love to learn more about how you decided sacrocopoplexy vs native tissue. That is the decision I need to make for my prolapse and upcoming hysterectomy, and I’m paralyzed to make that decision
I truly appreciated your video and your sincerity came through . I just visited my Urogynecology and he wants to do the reconstructive surgery except he want to just use sutures and no mesh. I have the trifecta prolapse, bladder, rectocele, and uterus falling out. He also wat to do a hysterectomy. Do you have reference to using sutures only for this surgery? If anyone else has done that with sutures love to hear from you..
Currently 41. Had prolapse uterus, had that removed last yr, now prolapsed bladder, I can see and touch my bladder. Next month I’m scheduled to fix that with sling. I’m worried what will happen next!!!
I have bladder, cervix, uterus prolapse in addition to stage 1 rectal prolapse. Not sure what to do. On the fence about all of this. Other ways to fix prolapse other than with mesh. Finding a doctor that does something different will be hard. They are all cut from the same cloth. Trained to cut/surgery means💰💰💰
I believe a rectocele and rectal prolapse are two different things. I have a rectocele and I also have recto anal intussusception. I need a rectopexy which is done by a colorectal surgeon. I had a total hysterectomy and bladder support in 2005. I am 66 years old.
What does the flaxseed do for it? I’ve been on HRT mine still got bad still no surgery yet due to torn rotator cuff omg that’s horrible I guess you try and live with it or you get surgery I do have a great surgeon it’s just scary 😱 thank you I’m grade 3 so it is what it is!!
I'm 2 weeks after surgery, hopeful for good results! What kind of exercise is the best to do after? I'm sure my F45 and Orange theory are gone. Haha. But I can't wait to go back to fitness again but I'm scarred
The surgeon I am waiting to get into is hard to get into because he spends quite a bit of time in Africa doing this surgery for women over there who have a lot of problems because they start having babies too young and it messes them up pretty bad. He also no longer lives here but come about once a month or so. I have heard that some women have low back pain after similar surgeries so this is a concern that I will be talking with him about on the 29 of May, 2924. I am uneasy but I am tired of living this way. I would love to toss the pads but am so grateful to have them.
I wish I would have known about urogynecologists. We don’t have any here. I travel now. First hysterectomy failed. Now complete PoP and descent. I’m in good hands now. Can’t live like this anymore. He didn’t do any suspension. Thank you. I needed to hear this about mesh. I need it because I have hEDS. Found that out after hysterectomy. Thank you Thank you. I really needed this.

Thank you
Hi, I have a rectocele prolapse too. I'm 51 and have had it since the birth of my son 14 years ago. It suddenly worsened when I missed my 1st period in February due to peri menopause. I went to a physio and do the exercises religiously and I have an oestrogen pessary I take twice a week. This has helped but not enough tbh and I've seen a surgeon who has recommended a repair. I'm terrified too but really can't live with this terrible heaviness and poop getting stuck in the bulge. How are you ? X

Hi, No, I decided against it in the end. It really terrified me and the surgeon I saw didn't fill me with confidence. just saw this video my prolas surg in 2 wks yes very nervous i have to have sacrospinous ligament suspension and possible anterior/posterio repair maybe the tvt.
I am trying to decide whether or not to have the same procedure as I, too, have global stage III prolapse. My concern is what will happen to our sex life?? Right now even with the POP our sex life is great…I don’t want to lose any sensation and I DEFINITELY don’t want to deal with pain…
Your videos have helped me so much. I am needing the same procedures as you are. I feel at peace about the decision. Still worried about the process, but we are going on it.
I just had my surgery on Friday Nov 16.23 I just hated peeing so much lol and walking my dog for a hour or 2 of wanting to pee it’s scary I’m recovering from it atm. Hope your well!
Hello, I am considering getting this surgery, but I am a bit nervous. How are you feeling today? Are you experiencing any back pain, burning sensations, or any other issues that you would like to share?😊
I just had this surgery I wasn’t leaking I could hold my pee for a hour or longer but I had a bump at the entrance at my V I had my surgery on nov.16.23 she said I was 2.5/3 I wish I tried something else. I had the surgery and I slept we’ll surgery BUT then I couldn’t pee enough so they put a catheter in me so it was scary ISSUES WITH MESH OMFG I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THERE WAS PROBLEMS WITH IT 😢 I’m regretting doing the surgery even tho I’m ok but it’s 4days later after my surgery. Wish I tried natural stuff first. Listening to your video and I wish I seen your video before.
Thanks for the video, I am urogynecologist and have couple of comments. Surgery could be also considered on stage 2 if patient is symptomatic and does not have to wait for stage 3 or beyond. Waiting longer would damage the pelvic nerves further, and also stretch the connective tissue more. I disagree with cystocele repair part of your surgery and was not necessary and unfortunately it will increase your chance of having urinary urgency and nocturia ( need to pee at night). thanks again for sharing your experience.
Do you know Dr. Ty Erickson. He will be doing this for me after I see him. I am very uneasy about it because I do react to some things. I had an allergy test done to make sure I could handle the metal when they replaced my knee. So happy with that. Also if things go bad can this surgery be reversed? Thanks.
I’m only 34 and I have a uterine rectocele and cystocele prolapse my urogynecologist recommended a hysterectomy and removal of my cervix and of course repair the prolapse I’m a little worse then stage 2 and I have a bulge in my vaginal opening so at this point it’s necessary to help my constipation and urinary symptoms
My dr wants to also do a hysterectomy also with this surgery. Did you notice any change in your stomach appearance after the surgery? I had read somewhere where this may be an issue. It’s a vain question I know but just curious. Also why after the surgery did you question doing it at times? Thanks so much for the info- I am scared of the surgery and you made me feel better!
Thank you for sharing! I had prolapse surgery 8 months ago… rebuilt front wall, back wall, ‘tabletop’ . My doctor was astonished at my quick recovery. This week I suddenly have cystocele stage 3 almost 4. Dr unavailable for six weeks. Wondering do I choose a pessary for myself in the wait time? Highly uncomfortable and feels abraded.
Thank you so much for this video! I already had a surgery for bladder prolapse and I’m still dealing with the same issue. I saw another urogynecologist and she advised that I would benefit from having a midurethral sling using mesh. I understand that using native tissue isn’t as effective. However, I would like to find a urogynecologist that does the surgery with native tissue. I have not been able to find one where I live in Florida. Would you be able to know where I can find a urogynecologist that does perform these surgeries without mesh? Thank you so much!!!

Hej Mile, I want you to know that you are not alone. I am 36 and got prolapse when I was 31 ang gave birth to my son. I am living like this already 5 years. I've got prolapse ring and it helps me but I know that I will do surgery. Crossing my fingers for you.
@@Sch90700 Hello:) I got it after natural labor in 2016. I have have been living with prolapsring (this how they call it here in Sweden, it's a plastic rubber ring that supports falling uterus) since then. Using prolapsring gave me some sides effect like back pain and abdominal pain, I stopped to use it for a while but then my prolapse got worse. I got a consultation last week to talk about possible surgery. But it wasn't recommend to me at the moment. I was informed that possible pregnancy can ruin results of surgery, even if I got c section. So I got prolapsring a size smaller, and all my pains disappeared. I am extremely grateful that I discovered this channel ❤️ this is so important to talk about this and educate women, support each other. When I got prolapse I felt hopeless and very lonely, very frighten. I have never heard about this before. It is so important to know that there is out there whole society of women who also have same struggles. Aleksandra

@@jenniferstiles6353 Hi Jennifer, wondering if you have had surgery ? Mine is scheduled Oct 16, 24 if you want to chat. This will be my 2nd surgery, uterine prolapse with repair done 30 yrs ago!
I’m scheduled for the full hysterectomy, front wall repair and back wall repair. My gynaecologist doesn’t use any mesh at all, but says there’s no guarantee it will fix my prolapse as the tissues can be very buttery once she’s in there.🥴😟
I had bladder repair in May, it failed 2 months later. I am now going to have the mesh sling done next week. I had one done 22 years ago and it was perfect until it was dislodged when I had vaginal vault prolapse surgery. I had great success with my mesh sling. Like your Dr said, it’s buttery when they start and my urigynacologist said it would probably fail but protocol was that he perform that first. I’m looking forward to my surgery next week.
I am 65 and had hysterectomy and AP repair 5 yrs ago. It has failed and now Dr recommended mesh via laproscopy - I have a second opinion coming up - very scared to repeat this surgery. Thanks for telling your story - I don’t know if many successes with mesh. What’s the most important question I should ask?
I had surgery 10 weeks out . Not sure what it is like a mesh or what. My surgery was short in description. He called it interior and posterior colporrhaphy, perineoplasty, mid urethral sling and cystoscopy for Cystocele, rectocele, perineal insufficiency, stress urinary incontinence. I think I made a bad decision on doctor and I am switching. now. Thanks for the tips
Love your video. Thank you so much. I just wanted to ask you if you had tried to use a pessary. prier to surgery. I am 63 and have the same exact thing you had. Been dealing with it for years as it has gotten so much worse and interfering with my life. I have been so depressed about it. Want to have the surgery. Trying the pessary but it’s just not working good for me. Would love to hear from you . Thanks
Thank you for your video. It did bother me somewhat when you said you had been working out/lifestyle preparation for 8 years. I am not in the best shape. My surgery is scheduled for next week. I am not feeling comfortable with the surgery. Especially after my preop today. My doctor is a OBG doctor.
How do I know what stage I am in?. I have been seeing a specialist for about 2 years she never told me about surgery I receive a shot well 2 on my left side every 3 months. I have been to therapy it did help me and it felt so good. But it never changed anything. I have had this for over 4 yrs. I lived in TX What a nightmare I went through and they wouldn't listen to me.
Just want to inform everyone, that another thing you can try is, to see an osteopath. They can do some manoevers to lift and reposition internal organs and especially the uterus! This can be so helpful, if you can find a good one! 🙏
@@melodyebuskin5490 TH-cam removed my answer with the link for some reason... Look out for visceral osteopathy! 👌 Also the sacrum can be in the wrong position. Some therapists can manually reposition it, which can help as well.
I have been diagnosed with stage 2 cystocele and rectocele it’s been about two years they did put surgery on the table as a last resort I am 5 feet and seem to be bouncing between 143 and 150. It seems the minute I go anywhere above 143 I start to feel heaviness and seem sad, my cervix has prolapsed as well. Sometimes I can feel it with my hand when I wash I am terrified. I also feel most pressure right before my period I am 52 and in perimenopause I am not sure what to do so I’m comfortable at times I have been back-and-forth with PT I have to admit not very consistent, my regular GYN thinks I should avoid the surgery and try to fix it myself
It depends on what type of surgery they do. Sometimes they remove your uterus & use mesh & pull up lower ligaments & attach them with the mesh in between to Stronger top ligaments & pull up your bladder. They usually leave the ovaries which helps with having less unpleasant menopause type symptoms. Obviously if they did this type of surgery you'd no longer be able to reproduce as you have no uterus to hold a baby. often if you still plan on having more children they'd prefer holding off on any surgery until you're done having children bc it likely would undue anything improved by surgery so you'd have to have more surgery. I'm in this same dilemma myself actually... trying to decide what to do. I had no idea having a baby would care so many issues to my poor body. I feel like such a mess now. Not sure what choice you Make... might start out with physical therapy while trying to decide what to do. 37 here. I really hope you have a smooth pain free journey with whatever you decide to do ❤
So I am extremely young. I have had 3 vaginal births. I was just diagnosed with cystocele, rectocele ans uterine prolapse. I’m really scared cause my urogynocologist says the damage is done, and I most definitely have to get surgery. I’m worried about how long this is going to last since my age?
How are you today? Have you had to have surgery or using a pessary (not sure if I used correctword)? I'm similar to your situation and don't have anyone to talk to so I thought I'd asked a couple of you 🧡
If you look up Ali express there are a lot of electronic devices which you can use to help stimulate the muscles to help them hold up your organs and tighten the vagina. The comments say they work. I bought one for about $60 which is battery powered and it does seem to work but I have only had it for a week. I have had mesh surgery but it collapsed after 2 years and there has been a lot of pain. I am now in my 60s and have lived with this for decades so the fact that this little device seems to be helping after all these years is surprising.
@@peterobrien9367 if the ligaments supporting your pelvic floor were stretched then no amount of exercise with tighten them - only surgery. Likewise the soft tissue in your vagina isn't made of muscle. You can, however, exercise to strengthen your pelvic floor MUSCLES though, which supports your pelvic organs so can help somewhat.
I'm considering having a uterine prolapse surgery but I don't want a hysterectomy. I know you said you have to be cautious when recovering, but can you eventually go back to lifting weight or should you stay away from it all together? I have a 2 year old plus at work it's part of my job description to lift 50lbs. I've been living with this on and off since before getting pregnant with my last baby, but I didn't k ow what it was and when I went to the obgyn to get it checked out, she didn't see anything. But when I stand up or sit down I definitely know it's there.
You can go back to lifting slowly & nothing over 10lbs strictly for 6 weeks after surgery... keep in mind that's a gallon of milk. Nothing more then that. Proper rest. I didn't follow these guidelines after hernia surgery a year & half ago & it wasn't 3 months after surgery i felt the same previous pain & been dealing with it since. I messed up the permanent sutures so it's important to follow the orders in place.. i understand that's not possible in everyone's life especially with a toddler (that's what I did wrong myself) hence why I'm putting off the prolapse surgery myself. Blessings for you in your journey with this. ❤
I had the transvaginal procedure to fix back my uterine prolapse but I'm soooooo scared to exercise even though doctor says it's okay too 🤦🏽♀️ I'm scared. I didn't use mesh because that constricts the uterus and I want one more kid God be willing. Any advice and encouragements?
@@fatiyamohamed2260 Yes. There are 2 kinds of surgery for the uterine. There is the Mesh where the uterus is restricted. This is the one where you SHOULD NOT TRY TO HAVE A BABY. The uterus can no longer expand enough to carry a child. Or the second option, where muscle is pulled from a different part of the body and attached to the uterus to hold it up. Hope that answers your question.
I’m 38 & have a prolapse, ideally I want surgery as all I can feel is a sore bulge. I had 3 pregnancies in 4 years. Since having a prolapse it’s effected me physically & mentally, ruined my sex life & even me exercising as I don’t know what I can or can’t do. Im in the uk.. any help will be very much appreciated- there doesn’t seem to much much support here & my GP has no idea. Literally I diagnosed myself & then she said yes you have a prolapse. I’m on the waiting to see a gyno on the nhs but will now private now as they’re not taking it seriously.
Hi Jessica, I had a car accident and injured my foot, stress fracture. If there is anything I can do as my doctors forbid everything including swimming 😢
Vacuums need to be banned. I am a both professional and victim and have the right to make this statement. I had the same story after first then had 2 gentle water births afterward. . Suffered 25 years and did have frequent PFPT and used pessary but Urogyn was not a specialist yet. I’m post op for grade 3 amd 4. No more Trapping stool and manually removing it (not from constipation I ate healthy and exercised daily). No more gaping vagina with the cervix and antidote wall protruding externally. No leaking, retention and pressure. Bowel and bladder function restored. Specialty functioning is much tighter but some discomfort and contractions are odd with levator muscles repaired. Travel far! Only a handful of Urogyns are skilled and have good outcomes. Imma physicians wife, I consulted with 8 urogyns and traveled and stayed in a hotel post op. Keep the uterus. It’s essential to prevent prolapse, prevent nerve damage and to maintain sexual and orgasmic functioning. Low risk vaginal approach is my preference. The leaders in the field prefer this approach. Young women! Use midwifery care as the obstetric culture routinely uses unnecessary interventions like episiotomy and vacuums that destroy the pelvic floor. Use gravity not instruments! Consult midwives before and after conception. Be wise consumers. Birth is not a medical event.

I just turned 50 and have stage 4 prolapse. I had hysterectomy 4 yrs ago. But they left my cervix. Cervix is falling and bowels are pushing on vaginal walls which is making them fall as well. I was just referred to Duke for surgery. Said it could be a 8 week wait. I opted against the pessary. I still don’t know what I should do 😢
What happens to the body after a hysterectomy??? I’m so scared of all of this I’ve put off getting checked I’ve let my doc know that I wear bladder leak pads for the past 7 years but now the pain has gotten bad down there where I cannot even sit down down without pain down there and there feels like a bulge when I’m sitting on the toilet and I wipe and it hurts when I wipe there. I dno if it’s cancer or prolapse but the pain shoots up my my abdomen and makes me feel nauseas. I’m really scared of surgery

Dear Jessica! I am so happy I found your vid on this topic. I live in Hungary, Europe. I had the same surgery as you had 2 years ago.( I am 42 now). 6 days ago I started to have a very bad abdominal pain but my doctor could not find the cause. My big fear is that it is caused by my mesh implant ( it is the same type on the same place as yours) I am afraid that it started to "move" or something after 2 years. Do you think if it is possible after 2 years that it is because the mesh " is getting wrong" inside me? Is it possible according to your studies on this topic? Sorry my english is so bad, I hope you understand my question. Thank you and I whish you all the best!!
I just,at surgery for bladder prolaspe stage 2 I think. I just got the mesh.I'm 40 with 4 children. The pain that starts from the incisions in my bikini line on each side that goes into my ligaments sucks though.
I am 45 and I have went through all the different avenues of trying to help my vault prolapse. I do not want surgery due to the mesh. For some reason I am so nervous about this surgery. I had a hernia repair 18 years ago and mesh was used. I had no issues. This time I am worried about it. I don't know what to do.
Had my hysterectomy and bladder surgery 3 years ago I now have a Virginia vault prolapse stage 1 Pesaries wont stay in will I be better off having more surgery?
Anyone who has had surgery: How are you doing now? Thanks!
18 months strong. Changed my life. Restored function ajd anatomy after 25 years of suffering daily and exhausting every conservative medical/nutritional/physical therapy management The key is finding a Urogyn who is fellowship trained, performs low risk vaginal approach, preserves the uterus (fun if they suggest a hysterectomy) and native tissue A/P repair with no external sutures.
@@cindy6576 do you know if you have permanent sutures for internal part of the posterior repair? I’m scheduled for surgery February 8th. I honestly wish it was sooner. I am traveling 3.5 hrs to this surgeon because he’s not using mesh at all. I do believe he said I would have some permanent sutures on the rectocele repair. I think the deeper muscles. That freaks me out a little. But still better than mesh! Which is what a young surgeon closer to home wanted to do!
I am having the surgery soon. My doctor said she is also repairing my opening to the size it was before children. I have stage 4 bladder prolapse, stage 3 uterine and a rectocele prolapse she is repairing those also. I believe you should ask your urogynocologist surgeon if they will repair the opening too. Hope this helps for the record I am 44 and I have had these issues since age 29

But glad we tried it beforehand to make sure
pessary doesn't work for me

I have the trifecta prolapse, bladder, rectocele, and uterus falling out. He also wat to do a hysterectomy. Do you have reference to using sutures only for this surgery? If anyone else has done that with sutures love to hear from you..
I have all 3 also. I am scheduled for next month. How did your surgery go?
Currently 41. Had prolapse uterus, had that removed last yr, now prolapsed bladder, I can see and touch my bladder. Next month I’m scheduled to fix that with sling. I’m worried what will happen next!!!
Thank you for sharing this information that is really helpful and so hard to find.

I'm 2 weeks after surgery, hopeful for good results! What kind of exercise is the best to do after? I'm sure my F45 and Orange theory are gone. Haha. But I can't wait to go back to fitness again but I'm scarred
I have just found out my prolapse is back I’m devastated
What kind of prolapse.

Stinging nettle root saved me from endometriosis and being doubled over and unable to function. Interesting information about the rest.
Thank you for sharing.. my surgery is scheduled in April - your video makes me feel much better about my decision.
How did your surgery go? How are you feeling now?
Your video was very informative! I liked your presentation and appreciated your investigation info. Thank you!
Thank you
Thank you. I really needed this.
Did you end up having the surgery? And how did it go?

Thank you
Hi, I have a rectocele prolapse too.

I'm on HRT now , do pelvic floor exercises at least twice a day, take flax seed to help with toilet issues and I'm managing much better. It's such a traumatic choice to make and I didn't want to be out of action for 6 weeks. I'm hoping it won't get worse . I hope you can learn to manage it 🙏Goodluck x

I am trying to decide whether or not to have the same procedure as I, too, have global stage III prolapse. My concern is what will happen to our sex life?? Right now even with the POP our sex life is great…I don’t want to lose any sensation and I DEFINITELY don’t want to deal with pain…
Did you have surgery
Thanks.

Sometimes I think my doctors just care about my business!

Hej Mile,
I want you to know that you are not alone.
I am 36 and got prolapse when I was 31 ang gave birth to my son. I am living like this already 5 years. I've got prolapse ring and it helps me but I know that I will do surgery.
Crossing my fingers for you.
@@OlaC. good morning! Did you got pregnant while you had you prolapse? Or you got it after?
@@Sch90700 Hello:)
I got it after natural labor in 2016.

Hi 👋 I’m 67 years old, is it safe to have a surgery for my prolapse. Thanks 🙏
I'd like to know too , age 69 , vaJJ & rectal prolapse.

Trying the pessary but it’s just not working good for me. Would love to hear from you . Thanks
thanks for sharing your video, what symptoms were you having with the prolapsed bladder?
Thank you for your video. It did bother me somewhat when you said you had been working out/lifestyle preparation for 8 years. I am not in the best shape. My surgery is scheduled for next week. I am not feeling comfortable with the surgery. Especially after my preop today. My doctor is a OBG doctor.
How are you doing now? I'm soon to have this surgery.
How r u doing
How do I know what stage I am in?. I have been seeing a specialist for about 2 years she never told me about surgery I receive a shot well 2 on my left side every 3 months. I have been to therapy it did help me and it felt so good. But it never changed anything. I have had this for over 4 yrs. I lived in TX What a nightmare I went through and they wouldn't listen to me.
Just want to inform everyone, that another thing you can try is, to see an osteopath. They can do some manoevers to lift and reposition internal organs and especially the uterus! This can be so helpful, if you can find a good one! 🙏
Can you give more info on this? Any links?
@@melodyebuskin5490 TH-cam removed my answer with the link for some reason...
Look out for visceral osteopathy! 👌 Also the sacrum can be in the wrong position. Some therapists can manually reposition it, which can help as well.
Have you heard of Goretex?
That came up in my discussion. My issues are a little different but I was curious. Can't find much about it.
I need help with rectal prolapse Please help, I don’t want surgery. 😢😢
Hi! Just a question - can you get pregnant after a prolapse surgery ?
37 here. I really hope you have a smooth pain free journey with whatever you decide to do ❤
EXCELLENT in sight!
@@peterobrien9367 please what is the name of the device?
@@peterobrien9367 Really!
I too don’t want a hysterectomy. Any advice from the video host.
Don't lose your hope.
Can you have baby after prolapse surgery repair
@@fatiyamohamed2260 Yes. There are 2 kinds of surgery for the uterine. There is the Mesh where the uterus is restricted. This is the one where you SHOULD NOT TRY TO HAVE A BABY. The uterus can no longer expand enough to carry a child.
Or the second option, where muscle is pulled from a different part of the body and attached to the uterus to hold it up.
Hope that answers your question.

Can I ask yiu where you get this fixed? I need to do the same i am in so much discomfprt and xant function att all.

I had the same surgery as you had 2 years ago.( I am 42 now). 6 days ago I started to have a very bad abdominal pain but my doctor could not find the cause.
Just want details on what it looks, feels like afterwards- and of course if you would do it all over again?
Thanks!
