I install run flat tire in my Lexus rx450h next day as I bought it and no worries about flat. I have flat tire 3 times in one year and never stoped on busy road instead I drove home and next day to tire shop to fix flat.

can you get a space saver wheel instead? this is too much faffing around and no guarantee it will work. Would much rather have a proper wheel

Once youve used it once, and assuming still? some sealant left in it, can you use it again months later, or will the goo clogg up the hose etc ?

Ah looks like all the sealant gets deployed at the start of the inflation, so is empty by the end. After that should be able to be used for additional inflation (inflation only), right?

My mom's old Camry had a full size spare tire, this kit saves any company $$$
Tire kit $ > full size spare $$$

It's crazy not to have a spare tyre! Tyre gel should be a last resort. Tyre repair places hate the stuff, because they have to completely clean out the inside of the tyre. Using a full-sized spare tyre is much safer than any other option. It should be mandatory for all vehicles to have at least one of them.

Very inconvenient and you have buy spare one for yourself.

I found it funny if you'll ask me. It's called "tyre repair kit" but in fact it is a tyre inflating compressor, nothing to do with a repair !
Saying that a spare weel save weight was the 2nd hilarious thing to hear. My previous 220D had a space saver tyre which wasn't heavy or taking too much space either but on the new is300h it is about battery overtaking the spare tyre space I guess.
All in all, seemed to be more of .. you got a puncture, go to Lexus garage 😂🤣😂
For a 21st century car maker this must be one of the lowest point especially coming from nobody else but .....Lexus !?
I mean, if Lexus wanted to save weight could come up with a light material tyre make and a compressor to inflate it with a speed limit of 30-40miles/hour for example justto get you to nearest garage where the problem can be fixed !!!
To not have spare tyre ...that seems more likely to be about everything else ....but a weight saver tag...if you ask me! No offence. I'll never replace Lexus for other car maker but this tyre-repair-kit and not having a spare tyre is way too much to take. Hope I'll never need it 😂😁🤣
