@@Amishland_Chateau I wanted to make the comment that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. But I thought it was too obvious. He is the spitting image of his dad in personality and humor.
Pleased to meet you William..What a well mannered and handsome young man. Looks a lot like Julie but with dads personality!..the apple part was funny. Well done super parents for raising such lovely children while running such a busy Place.
They do 'mesh' well, conversationally, as well as in humor. I fully expected that segment to fade out on a receding drone shot of them each taking one bite of every apple they picked! 😂
Lovely to “meet” William. Apple picking in the US is an annual day of fun for many families. 🍎 Everyone: Please remember to tap the Like/ThumbsUp button (located above, near the video description) to maximize Mapperton’s TH-cam algorithm! 🍎 🍏
William got the best of both of you. I noticed in looking at the black and white photos of Alberta that Luke William and Nester all hold her likeness. But I can definitely see Julie in William. What a beautiful family with those mops of blonde hair and quirky sense of humor. I love the sandwiches !
Yes we Americans love Chutney! I’ve only recently discovered your TH-cam channel. Julie I’m just like you! I get so excited over history even the simplest things make me happy. So wonderful to see you all working hard to keep the family home going.
What a wonderful treat when this came live…This is great fun, loads of apples on the trees, beautiful! Love fresh apple cider, hope you can get some pressed. William, it was wonderful to see you, even for just a few minutes. Very brave of you! Handsome son, Julie and Luke!!
Great to see young William, top tip Apple's make cider young man😉. As times goes by you'll realise your daft old dad is your best pal, I bet in decades on you'll show this to your children/grandchildren. Spend as much time with your parents/grandparents as you can, even if you think it's boring. The memories, knowledge they have is invaluable. Your Grandparents are showing you the way, how much you have/ how little we have, it is always good to share with those who have less.
This episode is filled with father-child legacies. William Gee presents with confidence as a stone expert and his children have taken the love for stone working and have become absolute artists.
This was such a fun TH-cam! I really enjoyed meeting your son, William. It was a joy seeing him picking apples with his father, and experiencing their shared humor! I also enjoy how Luke inserts bits about how he has embraced social media in his endeavors to repair and restore Mapperton. Julie impresses me as being so serious and intent on the wonderful work she is doing at Mapperton. Together they make a unique couple who appeal to both British and American patrons who support their endeavors to restore Mapperton.
Can‘t resist 😂 but looking at the two lads on a box munching on the same apple, the „apple doesn’t fall far from the tree“ sprang to mind. And then Dad drops one on his son‘s head! Brilliant! 🍎
My grandparents had fruit trees that we had to go down & pick each fall. They had about a football sized plot of various fruit trees. We would pick while grandma & my aunts worked in the kitchen putting the fruit up. We would can some, slice & freeze some and the ones not quite ripe would be wrapped and put in the sunroom to finish.
İt is very great to see William Pretty pretty wonderful episode thank you . I will definitely try chutney recipe , not sure will it taste as good as Beryl's but hope it's going to be close enough😊😀
BEST Mapperton episode ever. Interesting and entertaining. No interrupting and hurrying . Oh, wait, forget that. 25 thousand words written ( and spoken…)
Fun time apple picking! William is a very nice well mannered young man! What an interesting gent your stone Mason is! He must be very proud of his son carrying on his trade! Good to have the drone to help you see the hard places to access. The views of the estate are beautiful!! Unbelievable what the pigs do to the ground! Good thing you are happy about it!!! Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻
Something that would make this task much easier. Spread old sheets or plastic tarps underneath the apple trees. You can set the ladder close enough to the tree branches. Shake the tree, the ripe apples will fall off and the sheets/tarps will make the ripe apples easier to pick up.
I just made caramel apples with my granddaughter. We live in southern US and we love going apple picking up in the mountains every year. Such a delight getting out of the car when that apple smell hits you at the orchard- smells like Fall🍎
I can't tell you how many times I have re-watched the beginning of this video. Whether on my account, or even showing it to other people on their account. The father and son moment that I wish I'd had growing up. to see such a great bond between the two of them is amazing and something to be treasured. Always puts a smile on my face!
Brilliant introduction to meeting William. The Apple picking brought back memories with my dad when I was younger and those memories are some to cherish. Well done!
Howdy William! Happy Trails. It’s deeply inspiring and gratifying to see the next generation pitch in and take things seriously. Bravo. Do you give the ground apples that are a bit spoiled to the pigs you raise?
I was watiching another YT channel where the farmer (in Vermont USA) had mentioned that ground apples that were donated to him to feed his pigs had fermented, which made his pigs a little tipsy ... lol!
@@canukmrsben I watched a video many years ago called Animals are the Funniest People. Animals from miles around would visit a certain area when the Marula fruit was 'overripened'. There were elephants, apes, rodents, you name it. Not sure how the words gets out but it was truly fun to watch.
Thank you. I didn't think that I would enjoy watching apple picking but the photographer showed beautiful angles on the grove. That was a beautiful section of your video.
Watching you two piok apples reminded me I have nice cold apples in the fridge to eat...thanks. I am thankful for TH-cam so I can pause and go get a healthy snack
It was really fun getting to meet William. He definitely has his Luke’s personality and humor. 😂 Julie….the undertaking of archiving all the letters and documents is such a huge task. It must be overwhelming at times, but I’m sure you are taking it day by day. Once it is all done, think of the accomplishment you will have made. Great job! 👍🏻😉🥰🤗🙏
Your son looks so much like you❤, I can see his mother in him, but dad wins in this. So absolutely wonderful to see you both apple picking and a warm loving banter between you both. So lovely, thank you both for a wonderful experience ❤
As the Viscountess (Julie) would say, BEE-U-TEE-FUL! Im a new fan from the U.S., and I truly enjoy your videos. This is WONDERFUL on so many levels. The new "Prince William". Congratulations on another GREAT video.
Applausefor Julies amazing hard work on her dissertation. I appreciate watching the process. LUKE: This is the time for the drone. What about GPS trackers? Oh, you just stated the cattle has GPS. Well done!! So fun to see the animals 😍
Your son William is very cute and easy going! He seems alot like his dad, really! He added ( which was the cutest of all) "Looks like we might not get much done" He knew right off, eating apples and then sitting down without starting to pick any, and no ladder, were the signs of not much getting finished! lol I do think shaking the branches is good , but you would lose so many each time. Holding a large bsket right under where the other is picking will 'catch them the best!' A large, very large basket. Eating them in between, works quite well as long as you are finished, before you do more work! But watch those worms in the apples, do not want any of them! ! Usually the best is , at the top , and truly a Ladder is most important of all. Best maybe if you had something to ride in, and it would carry the ladder and everything you needed through the grounds, ( that would not leave markes on lawns or get stuck on wet ground in any mud), it might help if you would have all needed together at first in this vehicle, Then you would have all the energy needed to get the apples? Maybe it would always be good to sample one though first before getting started, as it is 'best to know about your products'. lol
This is so adorable! ❤ Your relationship, son and father, apple picking. He has your humor dad. 😉 Welcome in front of the camera William! Adventure awaits! 👏

Hello from Virginia! Our family always makes Chutney, and that's what we call it. We use my Grandmother's recipe and it seems identical to the one Beryl was using, except... crystalized ginger! What a great idea. I'm adding it next time! We love chutney with ham and smoked pork chops.🙂 William seems like a lovely young man! Nice to see him in the video. Thanks for letting me live in England vicariously through your videos!
Luke not being able to find the pigs, takes me back to childhood on the farm. My Dad was not one for fixing the fences. As a result the cows often went missing into the neighbours or the subdivision nearby! We use to joke that they were invisible fences. Glad those days of chasing cattle are over!!! 🐄🐄🐄

Lol! I see what you did there, love puns.
😂😂😂 A pun well done! Loved the exchange between William and Luke! Welcome, William!
If you lay a tarp underneath where you're picking then you can just gather the tarp and put all the apples that fall in the bin.
I do that with mulberries every year.
I do the same with my olive trees when I don’t have time to catch them in the netting and they fall through there’s a tarp they fall on. great idea
You clearly have picked apples before 👍👏❤
I came to say the same thing hehehe
I hope "the help" have more sense than these two do. They don't seem to know what they're doing!
