    I almost cried when that didn't post. So scary. Glad it worked out for you. I just bought a 5700x for my MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max. At least I can flash with my R5 3600, should be a little less scary.

    I have b450 tomahawk max with r5 3600, and I’ve got 5600 yesterday, I flashed bios trough bios m-flash function, and I was able to start pc with new bios and 3600 in the socket, I’ve turned off the pc, just replaced the cpu and started it again without any troubles at all.

    Literally just bought this same set up this week - these mobos are going VERY cheap at the moment. So glad I found this video - for example I thought the bios flash would only take a few seconds, not a few minutes. I have fitted the CPU and ram, but I'll take them out and flash the bios before I try running it. I'm currently looking at 4x8GB ram - do you think I should try just one stick to start off with? And build up slowly to let the pc "learn" etc? Also, does it matter if CPU, Ram etc is fitted during the BIOS flash upgrade? Can i leave it it fitted and just crack on or do I HAVE to remove it all and start again? Thank to anyone for any help.

    • @thenukeshowofficial
      @thenukeshowofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As far as I read it is not necessary to remove CPU or RAM in order to flash the BIOS. Regarding the RAM i don't think there is a need to put the sticks one by one - i would put them all and if there is a problem then try troubleshooting it by trying them one by one.

      @@thenukeshowofficial OK thanks for that - I'd prefer to build down than build up if you get what I mean. I've already put the damn thing together... may as well stick to it now. I'm a little stuffed on HDD, but I have 7x 7200rpm drives to pick from... I'd prefer a SSD but have to make do with what I have. This is a steep learning curve for me - but I am enjoying it. So far!

    • @damightyshabba439
      @damightyshabba439 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      OK, 6 months later... The system is running very smoothly. A couple of Crashes over the summer due to heat (despite 6 cooling fans!) but otherwise very stable. I mostly play the "X" series of space games and Skyrim, both run perfectly with everything turned up. Had a few issues with the front mounted ports (USB, audio etc) but I'm putting those down to the cheap case leads. Given price hikes in power, it obviously is an expensive unit to run - at least compared to a laptop. But for short bursts, its worth it. So I play strategy and casual games on the laptop (HP Pavilion dv6, 6GB ram, Intel HD 620) and "proper" games on the tower. The recent AMD launches obviously caught my eye, but I always stay a few years behind the curve - let everyone else do the bug fixing, come in when its half price and working! I must admit my old 1050Ti 4GB is struggling though.... the GFX industry really needs to realise it's best customers are in the 100-350 price bracket. And yes, it did turn out 32GB DDR4 was total over-kill... but... I get to say I'm running 32GB DDR4 to my mates, so... balance!!!! (they're all on 8). I don't overclock anymore - when it was PII / P3 or K6 etc, I did it a lot... but these days I just can't see the point. Risking a CPU or GFX for an extra 10 FPS that you can't see? Not worth it. I know its an old 450 mobo and a 5600X, but right now all I want to upgrade is the GFX (when prices are not insane) and the boot HDD (Currently using a 7200rpm SATA, want an M2). Overall - very happy. ***IF*** you are buying now, I'd try to get a more recent chipset - AMD are moving fast, and "future proofing" would be beneficial. I went for cheap "end of life" which worked for me, but if you plan on big things later - your base chipset will be key.

    Подскажите пожалуйста, стоит ли брать на Алике готовою сборку AMD Ryzen 5 5600 + ASUS TUF GAMING B450M PRO S и отдельно память Crucial Ballistix 16gb 3200Mhz ? И ещё стоит ли гнать 5 5600 ? Просто видел замеры производительности и там говорили что как таковой разгон не нужен, надо только прогнать оперативки, только проц там был 5 5600x, но как я понимаю разница в производительности с 5 5600 не велика, ведь так ?

      You would need to update the BIOS to version that supports Ryzen 5000 series - according to MSI website it is version 7B86vMC or above (I would go with the latest version). If you already have a CPU working with this motherboard you could use the M-Flash function of the BIOS. Otherwise you would use the Flash BIOS Button as I do in the video. Have in mind that flashing the BIOS always comes with a risk of damaging the motherboard and/or possible voiding of warranty.

      Same process, yes. For RAM i would go with a 3200 or 3600 MHz kit certified for Ryzen 5000 series (check motherboard compatibility list) - 2x8 or 2x16 GB, depending on what you use it for (I would go with 2x16 GB for gaming and future proof, and even more if you would use it for memory intensive workloads as 3D modeling or image/video editing). For GPU I would say it depends on type of games you play and the resolution of the monitor (assuming gaming is the use case) and, of course, the budget, but a RTX 3080 or a RX 6800 XT would be a good match.

    • @thenukeshowofficial
      @thenukeshowofficial  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you already have a working system (with 1-, 2- or 3000 series CPU) you can use the M-Flash utility in the BIOS to update it, which is more simple process.

      If it is only the CPU you upgrade - no, if you change the motherboard most likely you will need to reactivate it.

      I read some posts in Reddit that people are using latest beta bios from MSI website and have no problem with 5000 series Ryzen. Of course the risk is always there. Are you thinking of upgrade or you have the mobo and the 5000 cpu already?

    • @thenukeshowofficial
      @thenukeshowofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure - in the Compatibility section of MSI website it is stated that it supports 5600X with latest beta BIOS version but there is no BIOS version that states support for 5000 series as it does for the MAX version.

      Same any more info on this? I have both non and max, max is inside my bro pc and I didn't really want to swap them because that one is his but i bet, he won't notice.... If I really have to swap them. I'm getting the 5800x to pair with my GTX 1080. As of now, i have rx 1600 with GTX 1080 and i can play anything i want but this cpu is a really good upgrade until I realize i was going to spend another 100-120 for a new motherboard.

    do you update the bios first or no to run 5600x?

    • @thenukeshowofficial
      @thenukeshowofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on what revision of the motherboard you got - if it is newer revision and has "Ryzen 5000 series ready" sticker it should be compatible out of the box. Mine was older so i needed to update the BIOS for the 5600x to run.

    Actually I have the same MoBo but with a 3400g, I would like to upgrade to 5600g but not sure if it would boot, does anyone have tested it? I know that if we update the BIOS it should work, but I don't wanna spend in a processor that may not work :(

    • @thenukeshowofficial
      @thenukeshowofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would update to the latest BIOS through the BIOS - it should be easier. And after that it should be ok with 5600g. Of course, if someone can confirm that, it would be best.
