      Hi there! I tried your recipe but mine didn't turn out as crispy as what's shown on the video. Do you have any idea what possibly went wrong? Our oven doesn't have an option to bake with just the lower fire. Both upper and lower turns on together. When I increased the temp to 230°c it begun to smoke. Scared af so I turned it off.

      @@redvelvet4530 Hello! I am sorry to hear that. Is your oven using gas or electric? If it is electric, you have to be careful, because electric creates drier and more heat so you can lower the temperature and lookout. If you are using gas, this creates moisture thus the heat distributes between the juices and oil.
      If the skin turned out to be not crispy, it could be because it is not dry enough, that it needs to stay in the oven longer. Just control the temperature though. :)

      @@JosiesPinoyKitchen Hiii! Thanks! Yea, I'm using an electric oven.I thought it needs to be baked a lil' longer. I let it bake for more than 4 hours tho. Someone advised me to fry it after baking, doesn't seem right to me so I poured it with some boiling oil but it didn't even help. Gonna try this again today. You think using rotisserie would be a great idea? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions. I'm new to baking. Thank youu!! ♥️

    This is the best lechon belly roll recipe/video. Watched and followed too many recipes in the past but it’s has always been a FAIL. Then i decided to change the way i do things and follow your recipe/instructions instead. And the result is… a perfect crunchy lechon belly roll.
    The things that i changed were:
    1.) do not keepm opening the oven while cooking.
    2.) no water
    3.) baste at the last 30 mins of cooking.

    This looks great. Are you setting the oven to bake or roast? When I roast it uses the convection setting on my oven.

    Mataas po ata ung 350 degrees for 3hrs mukha po kasing dry ung loob.. wag po kayong magagalit.. :) btw thanks at may nakita akong way pano mag crispy

    Hello, thanks for the recipe. Question: BAKE @ 350F and not “Broil”? My oven either has bake or broil option. Jus wanted to make sure! Nagutom ako bigla. Sana maging crispy yung akin. Lol

    No po ba nee gamitin?? Sa taas po ba o sa baba ung heat ng oven? Ung oven kc nmin pag broil, taas lng may heat, at pag bake nman eh ung baba lng may heat.

    I just wanna ask, I have an Electric oven. You can either turn both lower and upper heating on at ghe same time or either one of them lang. Which heating option should I choose? Also, my oven is not convection.
    Do I need to add water ilalim para mag moist?

      I suggest you turn on both heat so that it will circulate better. No need for water, it will not create a crispy skin.

      What we are trying to get from the lemongrass is the tangy aroma, you can substitute it with lemon zest but not too much. It can overpower the other flavors.

      Kahit po 5kg hatiin nyo po yung belly sa size na magkakasya pa rin sa oven, kaya same time and temp pa rin po. Sa niluto ko po hinati ko sa dalawa kasi yun ang kasya. Unless malaki po yung oven same time pa rin then monitor nyo po if need to extend at same temperature.

      Hello Julie! Yung nabibili ko kasi 24x12 inches, so I divide it into 2, 12x12 na irroll ko. I suggest buy no less than 12 inches length and width para madali mo sya maroll.

      Kung wala po temperature sa knob, preheat nyo po oven usually 10-15 mins before ilagay ang meat.

      Preheat your oven in 350F’ then lagay mo na yong lechon then set the timer sa baba yong fire thanks for your question

      If you cant find lemongrass, best alternative is Lime leave or lime zest for its mild citrus flavor, and combine it with ginger.

      Broil on higher tenperature after you brush with oil.

    Hello po pano po kung Yung oven nyo po e walang naka indicate na Celsius or Fahrenheit Basta lang po medium to max, I'm using union gas range po salamat po 😊 new here po

      Baka sa knob ng oven may temperature. If wala po gamit ka po ng oven thermometer ilalagay sa loob na nakikita nyo habang nagluluto.

      Bake setting lang po, automatic na yun, di ko po binuksan yung fan. Kapag bake magcirculate na yung heat around.

      hello! I just pat dried it. The meat should be room temp, but you see I brushed it with Soy Sauce. Make sure you do not open the oven within the first cooking and before dressing the oil.

      350°F (176°C) for 3hrs, then brush with oil then increase temp to 400°F (232°C) for another 30mins.

      Pre heat mo muna yong oven then pag nakuha na yong tamang temperature lagay mo na yong meat, set mo sa Bake sa baba yong apoy kasi mag circulate naman yong heat. Huwag mo i-set sa Broil(taas na apoy) kasi masusunog yung ibabaw.

      @@rachelshares1527baka celcius ang setting ng oven mo. Yung gamit ko ay 350 fahrenheit, kung celsius ang setting ng oven mo 350F = 176Celsius, then 450F = 232Celsius.

      3 hours sa 350f’ then 30 minutes sa 450 f’ to make the skin crispy

    Gudeve po madam, nag luto po aq knina lechon belly at ginaya ko po ung exact method nio po
    Gamit ko po Electric Oven preheat ako ng oven 350F , function na ginamit ko bake, ung heat nia nasa baba then after 10mins. Nilagay ko po ung belly 3hrs , always after 1hr nag papahid aq ng olive oil sa balat then after 3hrs nag increase po aq ng heat 450F for 30mins. Hanggang matapos
    Ang result po d po naging crispy ung balat .. sa tingin nio saan ako nag kamali? Tnx po

      Hello po! Sorry po at hindi lumutong ang balat. Try nyo po na wag punasan ng olive oil every hour. Yung oil po kahit canola or vegetable oil after 3 hrs, then increase heat for last 30 mins.

      @@zgx9282 Possible reasons are, 1. Dahil lagi po nabubuksan yung oven (which is every hours), pwedeng nawawala po yung heat and pinapasok ng lamig; 2. if malamig din yung oil na gamit tapos hindi pa dry yung skin when wipe it with oil, lumalamig yung surface ng skin and nagiging wet ulit.
      Kailangan po consistent yung heat and maging dry yung surface ng skin ng ating pork. Kaya after 3 hrs po saka lang natin pwede buksan ang lagyan ng oil kapag mapula na po sya para lamang mas lumutong, then increase to 230Celsius for 30 mins.

      @@JosiesPinoyKitchen lahat po nung nabanggit nio un po ginawa ko kaya cguro hindi naging crunchy ung balat hahaha well 1stym ko po kc madam dbale sa dayoff ko me round 2 pa kami ng lechon belly 😂 susundin ko po mga tips nio at last question po ung tray nio po sa baba, meron po ba water dun? Or just tray lng ? At saka pag mag pre heat ng oven start po ba agad sa 350F* ung settings nung oven at need po ba muna mareach ung 350F* na temp. Before ilagay ung pork belly?       Hello! Kayang kaya mo to for sure. Pre-heat oven for 20mins at 176Celsius (350 Farenheit), then ilagay mo na ang Pork Belly still at 176C for 3hrs. Do not open until after 3 hrs. By this time luto na ang pork belly mo, then brush with Oil and increase the temperature to 232Celsius for another 30 mins to make it crispier.

      Set ng oven 350Fahrenheit then lagay mo sa center ng oven then you have to watch from time to time then kung sa tingin mo masusunog na lower the setting hanggang sa maluto at makuha mo yong kulay then taas mo ulit yong setting pero kailangan mong bantayan

    Hi nag try po ako pero parang ang tigas ng balat na kilabasan. Crunchy naman po Kaya lang ang tigas. Hindi katulad nung sa inyo na chrunchy talaga

      Ah talaga po, kapag pumipili po kami ng Liempo, pinipili namin yung mejo manipis ang balat, kasi kapag makapal baka matanda na ang baboy, tumitigas po talaga ang balat.

      Hello po! Di naman po target ang weight, more of the size po na pwede maroll. Mag-ask po kayo sa pelengke ng isang malapad na belly, approx 19x9 inches or bigger. Kung maliit lang naman, pwede 9x9 or 10x10 inches ayos na yun sa pamilya.

      Correct, I don’t see them necessary for the baked pork belly, star anise and bay leaves are typically used on soups or sauces or brines. Star anise is to add sweetness on sauces, bay leaves removes bitterness on sauces or soups.

      Naglalagay ako ng measurements kung kelangan sa recipe. Para sa pork belly, depende ito sa dami at laki ng baboy mo. Halinbawa ang luya makikita mo na dapat nasasakop nya per area ng baboy. Ang toyo na nilagay sa balat pinahid lamang ito. Pasensya na at amateur naman talaga ako. Sariling sikap. Pero salamat at marami rin naman tumatangkilik. Salamat po sa feedback.

      Eto po ang mga sahog:
      Pork Belly with skin approximately 19x9 inches
      Ginger slices
      Garlic
      Salt and Pepper
      Scallions
      Lemongrass
      Soy Sauce
      Oil
      Oven Temperature: 176 Celsius for 3 hrs
      Then 232 Celsius 30 mins.
      Monitor the oven to avoid burning or accidents. Lower temperature if needed.
