I always like the fact that Platinum Distortion World Giratina had us on ground while he totally afloat on air even in battle.

I love how the Side-by-Side sections of this video also let you hear the difference between the original and remake Legendary battle theme, it's nice to hear them separate and together at once.
Best one is Platinum, hands down.
I played platinum, so I agree.
Edit: I liked Platinum's Girstina theme better as well because it has more character within it that the remade version.
@@shaneknight1489 yea bd/sp just sounds off platinum is just better in general as well cause god bd/sp is bad you over level to easily cause of the exp share you can't turn off. And when basically no animations for moves looks better than the more technically advanced era of today is just pathetic bd/sp just have no soul behind them to me and this is from a person who is playing platinum right now cause I'm nuzlocking it
@@destroyer4929 I agree. I played Platinum a lot of times before because while I got more experienced in Pokémon, I had more to learn. That was what motivated me to restart the game many times
With that said, I didn’t have much motivation to restart my game progress in new games because they lacked that exciting challenge the previous games once had
giratina’s overworld sprite is GARGANTUAN in dppt compared to bdsp, where he’s like a foot taller
"Technically speaking" - as the PokeDex is inaccurate/unreliable when it comes to this information.
Giratina's height is about 4.5 meters, thought that number is from the highest point on Giratina's head to the tip of his tail. But, if he's standing on the ground, he's a bit taller than Reshiram who is about 3.2 meters tall. (oh, and I know that this is a 9 month old comment, I just got to the video)
I went into the Distortion Room with my team at an average Level 70, the best I had was my Gastrodon who knew Ice Beam, damn near shit my pants when I saw that Shadow Giratina was Lv 100 lmao… I froze it on the first turn, and it STAYED frozen for the entire battle, god I wish I had this kind of luck during my Nuzlockes

The first time giratina used shadow force scared me. I was like what!?!?!?
BDSP really dropped the ball in terms of potential it could've had, but never utilized because it went for the "1:1 faithful" direction rather than going the HGSS and especially ORAS route where there are some tweaks to the story and including notable improvements from the originals' third versions like more Pokémon variety. There could've been a "Platinum/Renegade Episode" that has a neat postgame story that's inspired by Platinum's.
It's such a shame. This could've been so much better, but nope, it's just DP with subtle improvements.
And then the standard exp share you can't turn off
It’s also a shame his own Giratina in the Distortion World doesn’t trasform once in contact with it as in Platinum it could.
They failed to insert a mechanic which was present 13 years ago instead.

Why Not Just Give It Plus 6 Omni Boost Cannot Be Inflicted By Status Conditions Has Perfect IVS A Better Move Set Perfect EVS And Force You To Fight It With Level 1 Pokemon No Endeavors No Priority Moves No Gimmicks Nothing ( With A Few Exceptions )

I remember when I caught giratina in platinum. I wanted a clean switch into my gastrodon so I swapped to my level 20 bibarel (I had it so I could use HMs) but giratina used ominous wind so it didn't kill the bibarel. I then decided as a joke to throw a disk all and giratina was caught. I guess it was intimidated my bibarel being immune to its attack lol

Kinda sad that the Distortion World in BDSP is only available in Ramas Park and not in either Spear Pillar or Turnback Cave

@Steven g These are perfectly fine games. Basically the original DP games made better. And for any flaws it might have, be aware that these games were made by ILCA, not Game Freak, so it was a company's first Pokémon game.

At 0:07 as one can see giratina's size seemed almost accurate but the remakes totally ruined that also 😔. At 4:00 Giratina looks so SMALL
Not really because the PokeDex would sometimes get actual Pokemon sizes wrong with the obvious exception of maybe Wailord.
As a wild 'mon, it's HUUUUUGE! And while it's a bit smaller, it's still incredibly large. In the Expansion Pass of Sword.

Yea they just are this is coming from someone playing through platinum the theme is better cause it's not weirdly pitched up and the almost no animations make it look better than a giratina model statically moving across the screen with like 5 effects

4:03 Can we talk about how funny the legendary encounters look in BDSP? They seemed more fluid in the original games, and in this game, the camera snaps to the position it needs to be in, making it look weird. I'm not even mad. I just think it looks funny.

From the Level 100 Shadow Giratina, to the Volo fight, it felt like Pokémon was trying to remind us that Giratina was essentially Pokémon’s version of Satan.

Bruh, where did the Platinum pic from the thumbnail come from. Girarina doesn't have footing in the battle.
I edited it, the ground represent the distortion world. The player character does have that ground in the video. Thumbnail doesn't always need to have just one signification, it can have many depending of the interpretation. The 2006 date is accurate; it represent the date where Giratina is introduced back in DP.
Now we just need an update with Legends Arceus
