    There are a lot of moves from ancient Muay that were banned from sport. It’s mostly how to grap and joint breaking. To modernized to sport version they decide to not allowed moves that might cause permanent injure to opponent in the ring.

      Thats why muay thai is now successful and arts like kungfu are not... they managed to adapt it to modern times to bring it to a greater audience🔥

      @@MartialArtsViking In the past. Our king concern about European colonizing. Many policies have been applied like prohibited slavery. The goal was to modernize nation and get rid of barbaric look. Muay thai developed under modernization policies and lost some killing effective because you never use joint breaking move in the ring. Good thing is to day we have Muay thai as sport and even foreigner want to join and keep this art alive.😊

    In ancient times, Thai boxers would use cloth moistened with water used to cook rice. When it dries, it will be as hard as sandpaper. When wrapping hands in boxing bets When punches come close to the skin, they cause wounds.

    • @MartialArtsViking
      @MartialArtsViking  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Sounds legit, the starch in rice would then dry in the cloth and make it harder...

    The boxing gloves you are asking about are ancient gloves where rope is wrapped around the hand like a glove.
    Its strength would inflict more serious wounds than modern gloves.
    Muay Thai in ancient times was more brutal than today. More than 10 attack moves are forbidden.

    The old tradition glove, actually it’s the rope tight around hand to protect hand and add some nods to made more dmg each gym/dojo have own form of rope nods and Wai-Kru but in the clip it was modernized it’s mma glove underneath the rope.

    I think that cartwheel kick is Muay Boran. Tony Jaa did this move in a movie too but like it was a knee to the chest rather than a kick in the neck. Another move Saenchai does is like climbing on people and downward-elbowing them in the top of their head, that's some Tony Jaa stuff too. Once in a while some people are just crazy enough to try these moves in a professional fight lol, like a Karate flying kick.

    • @MartialArtsViking
      @MartialArtsViking  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Some moves seems to be to crazy to work like that flying scissor or whatever it is called but then you see it work in the ufc and your like shiiiish that actually worked 🤣

    The tradition thai glove is a rope tight around hand to increase more cut and Its really hard just 1 or 2 punch is enough to knock out so you cannot rush into this kind of fight and the fight will be slow pace and caution.

    As a little kid when I was in Thailand. I witness his fight with Thongchai Tor Silachai back then and afterward he become one of Thai fighters that I will dig out his fight information and if its possible that I can drop by to witness his fight I will do so. Time pass I been through other countries but still gonna be in Thailand times to times. Saenchai is an awesome fighter no doubt. Start from fight locally and nowadays anywhere globally o o. He also fought fighters beyond his weight too. I am looking forward to his fight against Buakaw at this 4 November. Pattaya, Thailand. Hope, its gonna happened and not get canceled 👍. whats crazy about him (and im guessing he didnt beat only wannabe's through his career) is he looks kinda out of shape, he always did, he doesnt seem that strong, he isnt the ideal "ripped", but somehow, i guess genes, he has power behind his kicks and his punches. Ive seen a few mentions , Buakaw Por Pramuk, everyone looked at him and said "beast", but Saenchai to me is way better, i think they fought on friend terms and reports (dont think theres any video) say Saenchai joked with Buakaw and I kinda believe it, he's different, the angles, the evasions, top top fighter imo (and to my knowledge he didnt get involved in K1 cause he only wanted to be an ambassador for Muay Thai not compare himself to other fighters)

    Muaythai fighters begin training since they was a little kid. It's also a bone thickening training. They must kick until their bone got a little damage and repair again and again for several years. They make their body to be a real weapon. Yes, their legs can be harder than a baseball bat.😢

    Brother you need to be careful not to over do it when sparring in kickboxing as well, CTE can happen in tons of sports where there’s potential for repetitive blows to the head, (in boxing mostly though) I’d recommend doing what the Thai fighters do and having 90% of your sparring be light and technical, hopefully you’re in good hands with your gym as you move forward in your martial arts journey ❤️🙏
