For example: Port: Minha avó e meu avô são cabeleireiros. Esp.: Mi abuela y mi abuelo son peluqueros. Sounds the same, the only difference is the last word, but pelo in Portuguese means fur, so it's easy to guess. We can understand Italian too, but it's harder.

When I was a kid I used to say "Cabelelero" instead of "Cabeleireiro" (hairdresser) but it wasn't much problem since masculine hairdressers are called "Barbeiros" in Brazil (simply put, Barbers). 😂 Ok, I confess that even today it's hard to say it right. The Brazilian northeastern accent doesn't help much and it turns out like "Cabelerero". Almost right, only missing the "i" pronunciation. The Portuguese accent, obviously, is the best to pronounce the "ei" sounds within words. 😢

I learned a bit Spanish and Portuguese is written similiar but for me it sounds completely different, more like French. Italian and Spanish sound more similiar to me but maybe that's because I learned Latin.

When I was a kid I used to say "Cabelelero" instead of "Cabeleireiro" (hairdresser) but it wasn't much problem since masculine hairdressers are called "Barbeiros" in Brazil (simply put, Barbers). 😂
Ok, I confess that even today it's hard to say it right. The Brazilian northeastern accent doesn't help much and it turns out like "Cabelerero". Almost right, only missing the "i" pronunciation. The Portuguese accent, obviously, is the best to pronounce the "ei" sounds within words. 😢
