MacGregor Point offers well separated and private campsites in three campgrounds. All sites are treed, generous and have a level surface. Several campsites are designed for use by persons with disabilities. Radio-free camping is offered in sections of Huron Campground.
What You'll Like:
MacGregor Point is one of the most ecologically diverse natural places along the Lake Huron shoreline. A complex ecosystem unfolds at this all-season park on a seven-kilometre stretch of coast, just south of Port Elgin.
Park interpreters offer a full summer program of activities, including guided walks by the shore and through silver maple swamps, cattail marshes, ponds, fens and bogs that reveal unusual inhabitants.
Learn about the carnivorous (meat-eating) plants that make this area their home. Rare Dwarf Lake Iris and the elusive Spotted Turtle appear in the spring.
MacGregor Point is a well-known spot to look for migrating birds, including the Black-crowned Night Heron and the American Egret.
Home of the very popular spring Huron Fringe Birding Festival.
The weekend following Thanksgiving Monday, Witches in the Woods celebrates Halloween and the forest creatures closely linked to it! Campers decorate their sites, trick or treat and explore nature in the fall.
Winter visitors can camp in yurts, snowshoe, cross-country ski, and ice skate on a 400 metre skating oval (weather permitting).
This park is truly amazing; it has everything you need to ensure you lack nothing. The cleanliness of the facilities is particularly noteworthy, and the place is also magical.
The park look so amazing, relaxing and quaint with all the facilities. Love the beachside and trails too. It has all the attractions to visit. Your T shirt color complementing the environment so well
Looks like a beautiful park nice sandy beach and great facilities great hikes and lots to do.
Yes the beach area here was fantastic!
oooohhhh the turtle!!!
love a good boardwalk trail! Especially when you get some perfect weather like you did!! still would be worried about mosquitoes!!!!
Glad to see the updated comfort station. Seems like a nice choice for camping. It was nice to have the trail nearly to yourself. Thanks for sharing
We love an updated comfort station 🤣 the trails here were great.
That’s great the campground has a place to pick up items you may have forgotten. Also good to know this isn’t a great place for someone to work remotely. That’s definitely key these days. Glad you enjoyed yourselves there and thanks for sharing!
Beautiful park! The sand beach looks amazing.
It really is!
It's an amazing park. I am a bit envy of that place, lol. I would definitely visit that place if I had a chance :D
Timely review. One of our favorite parks. Heading there next weekend ❤
Hope you had a great time!!
Incredible park. Heading there in 3 days.
Great video.
Have a great time!! We really enjoyed it and will definitely go back one day.
Looks like a great camping spot! I appreciate how clean it was and the amount of things to do.
Lots to do at this park 👌
What a difference the seasons make. I'd love to see a Fall camping video next time for this spot. Oh that's cool that they have roofed campsites. I've done a couple of those at KOAs. Wow thats gotta be the cleanest looking comfort station I've ever seen 😂. Love all the hiking trails. Do they have boats to rent there at Port Elgin? What kind of beer did y'all get? I love the Sunset Point. Great video guys.
How much is a night at this park?
Beautiful Sand Dune 🏖
Yes, so nice!
Jbeautiful park
I agree!
Thank you. We are heading to the park for the first time this Fall. Really enjoyed your review. I understand that when a turtle is crossing the street you are to help it cross in the direction it was going - or it will only turn back and try again later.
Glad you enjoyed it and hope you enjoy your camping trip! I've never heard that before, good to know for future turtles. Save the turtles!! 💚
I literally just came back from Mcgregor! Did you check out the abandoned cabin by the old shore trial & kemf trail? The kemf trail gave me so much eerie feeling
No we didn't this time. We saw it when we were there in the winter from a distance. Maybe we'll have to go back to check it out!
Thanks for the great video. We're headed there in two weeks for a trip. Just curious, what trailer model is that? We are in the market for a new little trailer and your Clipper looks like the perfect size.
Glad you enjoyed it! Hope you have a great time there. Our trailer is a Coachmen Clipper 16FB. It's a 2022 and is 15 ft (18.5 bumper to hitch) so it's a great size for a couple if you're into smaller models. We really enjoy it!
No it is terrible, stay away. Don’t come to our town and park, oops 😬 hehe
🤣🤣🤣
