Silent Lake truly deserves its name. The place is very peaceful and relaxing, making it the ideal escape from the stress of daily life and the noise of cities.
The lake is so calming surrounded by greenery, It is a perfect place for people who loves silent place and nature. Your detailed review is always so helpful and useful for all the travelers. Keep sharing the good stuff guys.
I had a laugh when you were setting up your camp, it looked pretty hard. Your husband has a great laugh! Great kayaking and musquitos were a pain... Hiking, i guess you better go prepared. Thanks for the tips!
I appreciate these reviews. My wife and are in a tent year round but the information is still quite valuable. Thanks for including activities including ones you may not be involved in yourself thanks
Thanks so much! We try to share a broad range of info and activities as well as our preferred activities, which are generally kayaking, visiting breweries, sightseeing, and leisurely hikes. 👌
Silent Lake is one of my favourites. But ya, the skeeters are intense! I always have a thermocell, but I would not attempt it in June or July without a screen room at camp, and bug jackets with face covers for the trails. Plus a bug zapper racket on hand for the camper as well. I'm a little envious that you got to enjoy calm water! That lake can be very windy. Glad you liked it as much as I do!
Oh we loved this park! Definitely want to return for fall or winter camping if we can. Good tip about the mosquito protection! We don't have a screen for our dining tent but should have been using our face bug nets for sure.
Been going to Silent Lake since I was 12, that’s 46 years. Great place to fish, canoe, swim, kayak and enjoy the tranquility. Kawartha Dairy is very generous with their Ice cream and continues to be. I now have a 28 foot travel trailer which no longer will fit most sites at this park. Tent camping is still an option. Lots of great memories here! Bugs seemingly have gotten worse here however
Another great video! Thank you for sharing your experience at Silent Lake. I was there in Sept 2021 with my mother & aunt in September. Unfortunately we hit a week with a lot of rain and I couldn’t check out the trails. I appreciate when you share your thoughts and experiences on them. We were at site 132. I believe it was worst than yours. It was down in a valley with poor drainage. It was an experience!! I do want to return to Silent Lake. I did enjoy it. We did have 1 gorgeous day to walk in the water at the beach. Looking forward to your next Ontario Parks review video. Happy camping!
Thanks so much! Some of the sites there were definitely not ideal. But we really enjoyed the park overall. Hopefully you can get back on a visit with better weather to really experience the trails and beaches!
This one seems more of a park to get away and not run into mass people. It's not as busy looking as the last spot. I appreciate the shade. Buggy and non linear on the ground. At least you guys made the most of it. Always down for a kayaking trip. The brewery looked great. The trails all seem great and the seclusion of the place seems to off set the stinky toilets 😂.
I enjoyed the video and love your sunglasses, anyway we were were on our first outing a week ago and yes the insects were overpowering. Last year we purchased a clam shelter and would not go without it. I know Bancroft and area well because of my interest in minerals, and it is the mineral capitol of Canada.
Thanks so much! Got em at a fleaarket in Port Elgin. Didn't know that Bancroft was a mineral capitol... that's pretty cool! Bugs haven't been as bad the last couple of weeks luckily, but they were quite aggressive that weekend! Might have to look into a clam shelter for future.
Oh gosh with all those mosquitoes I probably would left there with an allergic reaction if I didn’t have the proper tools. So it’s a must for me to have a net and bug repellent if I visit here.
We have to bring kayaks and don’t have a roof rack. I see you have the clip on kind. Do they stay well? Do they scratch the paint in the truck? What brand did you get ? Thanks.
We have only camped there in the winter. 🏕 awesome for Nordic skiing. Snow shoeing There is a walk in section in the winter they provide sleds to bring in your gear. That area has a few yurts it is near the Bonny trail. Some people use their trailers in the section you were in.
I love Silent Lake! Awesome place!
Agree!!

Thanks so much, we had a lot of fun.
Stayed in a yurt here during this winter, first time in the yurt for me and it was amazing! Opened up a whole new season to enjoy the Ontario parks!
Oh I'd love to stay in a yurts next winter. Seems like a great park for winter camping. We did a cabin last winter at MacGregor and had a great time.

Yes the park is definitely more friendly to smaller rigs and tent camping. It's a beautiful park and we will definitely return!
Thanks for another detailed and informative park camping video. Nice and calm park.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Howuch was this park per night to stay at?
We try to make the most of our camping even in bad weather. The parks range in price per night but I think it was about $45 CAD plus tax

Looks like a lovely place! Cheers from Vancouver! 🇨🇦
Thanks so much! We really enjoyed it.
Beautiful lake and camp site. I think the mosquitoes would of drove me nuts.
Yes the mosquitoes were the worse we've had this season.
This looks like such a fun and beautiful park! 😄
Definitely is, we enjoyed it.
the lake is gorgeous and the trail near/along/crossing the river was really pretty, but those bugs and mosquitoes!
The bugs were quite bad - actually the worst we've experienced all season so far!
Oh gosh with all those mosquitoes I probably would left there with an allergic reaction if I didn’t have the proper tools. So it’s a must for me to have a net and bug repellent if I visit here.

We are going at the end of October to give it a try bug free!
@@TheAverageTourist that will be great!
Beautiful lake! Doesn’t it figure that it gets sunny when you want to leave. Too bad there were so many mosquitoes.
Yes that's always the way - and the bugs were awful that weekend
We have to bring kayaks and don’t have a roof rack. I see you have the clip on kind. Do they stay well? Do they scratch the paint in the truck? What brand did you get ? Thanks.
We have the Thule kind and the j hooks are standard ones from Princess auto. We haven't noticed any issues with the paint.
Thank you
i love it thank u
Glad you enjoyed!
