    Cell Phone Service: Bell, Telus, Koodo & Virgin Mobile - cell service was poor. Dropped calls. Lots of buffering. Very unreliable. If you've been to this park please let us know your experience with cell service, especially if your with a service provider different from the ones mentioned.

    Agreed, this park has some of the best pull through sites of any park and one of the best park stores around.

    Thanks for your great campgrounds reviews. It’s so valuable to see the different campsites with your camera, and helps us plan our trips.
    Unfortunately, we need decent cell service in order to go camping (for work, and staying in touch with family).
    Between Point Farms, Inverhuron and MacGregor, do you happen to remember which one is best for Bell cell reception?
    Thanks so much in advance! Have a great 2024 camping season!

      We're glad you're finding our park reviews helpful. For cell service, I know that Point Farms and MacGregor were not very reliable. At least at Point Farms you can go to the registration office and sit at the picnic table out front and use the free wifi. I can't remember how it was at Inverhuron. Sorry.

    One of our favorite camp grounds. We ditch the little ones with the grandparents and go birding every spring here. Beautiful spot. This spring we had the whip-er-will sitting right in our site every night.
    Keep up the great videos!

    This was also our goto park when we used to camp with our kids and tent trailer over 30 years ago. Now, as retirees with our new travel trailer, we went back sans kids in June. It was like going to a new park.! We loved it! Took our bikes and made use of the trails and explore areas of the park we hadn't seen in so long. Our site was private, yet roomy. Even though we don’t have a dog, we enjoyed the dog beach. This park will continue to be one of our goto parks. Thanks for the updated review!

      She's been hearing that laugh every time we go to Macgregor. She keeps asking me to go the regular way but I love her reaction to the hill too much. The kids used to play it up so much and laugh their heads off as she screamed going down the hill.

      It has been good but not tropical, its like early September back there. Cold mornings and nights but 20-23 during the day. Dec and Jan the coldest but its noticeably warming up now and will get into the 90's by March@@CampingwiththeColes

      @CampingwiththeColes  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It was pretty full. I try to film the campsites in the early afternoon when lots leave and the replacements haven't arrived yet. That way you can see the site without it being full.

    Thank you for the review. I have MacGregor Point on my bucket list. Enjoy your 5 park trip. I’m looking forward to the reviews. I’ve been to Driftwood. Love it. Had a site on the water, back then I had a tent. The goal is to go back and enjoy again, also on the water, with a power station! I did Mikisew last year for a weekend. I agree with you on returning for a longer stay to really get a feel of the park. Take care!!

    Hello! Two weeks ago I was camping at Samuel de Champlain P.P. (Sammy D.) with my family. This park has been our go to since my kids were little and now I am bringing in the grandkids. To my surprise and delight I saw your Camping with the Coles sign and saw Ben walking your pup. I am a Ontario Provincial Parks enthusiast, and have spent much of my time exploring new parks and areas. I have also viewed many of your videos which have been helpful in choosing where to go next. Note: my daughter had a good chuckle and my reaction to seeing you there! My fav TH-camrs!

    • @CampingwiththeColes
      @CampingwiththeColes  ปีที่แล้ว

      That was our first time at Sammy D. You're very lucky to have that park as your go to park. It definitely moved into our top 10 Ontario Parks. We had a great time there.

    I and my family have been going to MacGregor Park for 3 generations now my first trip I was 3 months old and I have loved that park ever since from tower trail to sunset point and all the trails in between so much to see and do there. My favourite memory of MacGregor is when my family and the naturalist from the park went on an "Owl Prowl" which is where we walk down a trail and call in owls using owl calls and this one time we got them calling back to the song "who are you" by The Who was a hoot pardon the pun. we enjoy the seasonal winter camping every year and have been for 12 years now a great way to store the trailer over winter and still be able to use it. definitely would highly recommend it if you are ever thinking about trying winter camping out. Ps love the videos! I always look for your guy's videos on the parks when I am planning my trips. I just came back from a week at Kettle Lakes Provincial Park and loved that park would highly recommend that park to you guys lots to do there.

    Hello! we really enjoyed meeting you both at Mikisew last week (we were your neighbours at site #357) . The kids thought it was so cool that we were at Mikisew for the 2nd year in a row based on your review from 2 years ago and then we were literally 'camping with the coles'. What a coincidence! Your videos are great. Big time camper from many moons ago and wanting to get back in but have been scared off by lack of sites to book. When are you at these campgrounds that are so empty? I only camp in Provincial / National parks but its been 20 years.

    • @CampingwiththeColes
      @CampingwiththeColes  ปีที่แล้ว

      The parks often look empty because when we film the campsites we do that in the afternoon during the time that people have left and the new people haven't yet arrived. I try to film empty sites so that you can see the sites better and I'm not recording people that might not want to be recorded. With things like beaches and playgrounds I don't want to be the creepy guy filming the kids. So, I make a concerted effort to try to record with as few people as possible.
      I hope you get back into it. Camping is great!

    Hey! You guys are in your trailer so much - curious what mattress you use?? I feel like I’m sleeping directly on plywood, and starting to loathe it! Currently have a standard RV mattress with a novaform memory foam topper from Costco.

    • @CampingwiththeColes
      @CampingwiththeColes  ปีที่แล้ว

      We replaced the cheap original mattress with a Casper 10" mattress from Costco. It comes in a box and expands like crazy when you open it up. Best decision. We're very comfortable now.

      @@CampingwiththeColes we will need to do the same! Maybe you talked about it in your first season, I think it was your channel installing those gas shocks things for under bed storage? If not, you should do a video on mattresses. I can not find a rv mattress on Casper or Costco site- you must have a full length bed size?
