Jairam Ramesh had rejected this project in 2011 saying it is against the environment.....Congress has delayed it maximum as possible...this Airport was supposed to be operational in 2005 then in 2010 ....dates kept on pushing ahead....Sharad Pawar as usual played a very crucial role in mis leading the public and even said this Airport should happen in Chakan near Pune....just imagine Financial capital of country having their Airport almost 150 kms away but not in the city.
