That’s funny my grandfather has 1 leg and he’s had a metal roof every since I can remember… the one leg thing doesn’t stop these men from doing whatever they wanna do.
They do make metal shingles, they look really good but not sure how much they cost. It might be a good alternative to reg shingles. I don’t know if full sheets of metal is better then the single size shingles - what the pros v/s cons are 😊

I just love what you guys are doing! This is what we did. We spent what we could with NO debt. This month we spent all our time on the property - planting flowers, assembled a gazebo, little stone paths and put in a pond with a water feature. Spent the day just relaxing. In all his prior houses he has stuck in dead twigs at the wrong time of the year and they just take off like it's living in plant heaven. ( parched earth at the wrong time- doesn't matter.) Miracle Greenthumb. ❤️
I am so glad you ditched the shed and built this house. IIt's SO MUCH stronger and better built than any shed. It should work out perfectly. Personally I'd put in rinsulation in the bedroom walls and and ceiling to help keep the room cooler this summer. I highly recommend you install a powerful attic fan upstairs over the bedroom/bath area to pull out hot air from the attic and top of the livingroom. Here in Ohio we do have hot days >90 and my attic I never installed one and it literally heats up the bedroom below it. My next expense would be the foam at least on the ceilings to help keep the sun from super heating the rooms. I love the front and back porches, especially the french doors...I just hope they hold up.

The house is looking good. I agree with others, a whirlpool walk-in tub is a good suggestion for you. The next nice thing to get done next is get a toilet installed so you can send the Pooh bucket somewhere else. However, that is easier said than done.
The only problem with a whirlpool tub is that the water gets cold quickly. Being in South Texas that may be ok. But I'm betting there'll be times you want to soak it in hot water. I'd get a jacuzzi for one of your patios. Those are continuously heated. Won't get cold. Save your money for that!
The house looks great. Rest up with Baxter, he's a special little fur baby! Just a suggestion...Build you a mantel out of antlers and some wood from your Granny's property you and Matt could do it.

The best thing about this whole process is that you are doing it debt free, it truly is the best way to live, My husband and I have been debt free for 10 years now, its wonderful. We built our own house too, 24x36 with 2 bedrooms and a 10x12 added on utility room.

It can be used to store stuff, use it as a table to eat, cooking / prep area. I bought a big steel cart w/ h drawers on casters, then I made a Farmhouse wood top & added bar stools . Everyone loves it & it can be moved when needed . As for other videos- just do a playlist ( ones you need to get higher views) I usually run people playlists at night when I’m working, I try to like as many as I can in between. It definitely gives them more views and make more $ for them. Since this app isn’t on my phone, it’s my iPad I don’t get notifications , it doesn’t interfere with my phone. The metal roof is much cheaper in the long run. I went from shingles to metal years ago. No regrets. Love your new house.

A moving island is one of the best things we built for my mom. She loves to be able to move it around in the kitchen.

It definitely gives them more views and make more $ for them. Since this app isn’t on my phone, it’s my iPad I don’t get notifications , it doesn’t interfere with my phone.
