This is very, very nicely played. As a former professional bassoonist, I can say it's uncommon to hear this level of lyricism and musicality on the bassoon. I put money on it he listens to a lot of vocal music.

The smile of the soloist after a concerto is always so heartwarming. In the grand scope of things, one 20 minute performance means nothing, but for that soloist it means the world.

This bassoonist is amazing!! I had the 3rd movement as my bridesmaids/groomsmen processional at my wedding, October 28, 1993 at St. Anthony's Church in Streator, Illinois. Sadly, the bassoonist could not make it as his father was admitted to the hospital that morning. But, our organist, Jean Drendel, played it very well! I had to order it from a publisher in Germany and it took from July to October for us to receive it. It was very worth it! I have never suggested it to be played at any other wedding since....it's a special memory for us!

As a cello player I have always appreciated the sound of the bassoon. It has that same sweet tenor clef resonance, it's like the wind instrument version of the cello. Few composers can showcase the ability of the bassoon to produce some of the most lovely sounds on Earth quite like Mozart. Love it!

I hate to break it to you, but I am a 14 yr old bassoonist and I can promise you and your son that there are many hours of long tedious work. What is even more annoying is that unless you have serious connections with people in the music industry your son will not get the chance to play publicly for a while. Otherwise I encourage your son with my utmost support, the bassoon has brought me so much happiness in the three years that I have played it.

When I started playing in the USA back in 1985, we had to order mine from Germany. Had never heard a bassoon until my own. Glad to see how it's caught on so younger generations can play it.

It does my soul good! Ha ha! No 9 foot piano, no silver trumpet, no rose-wood exotic oboe! LOL Just a young person enamored enough to just play! What a glorious thing!!! It is Mozart. It is glorious!!!! The face. The faces! Pure joy.

It is incredible how Mozart's music gives me life. I went to Salzburg in 1999 and when I was in Mozart's birth room, I felt that my entire life had been accomplished if I die right there.

Man, started bassoon in September last year. Still have a LOOONG ways to go lol. But this literally sounds amazing. My bassoon skills sound like a dying cow compared to him.

It's all good, I've been playing bassoon for about 7 years now, and I can tell you right now, focus on fundamentals. It will save your life later on. Mozart is a very difficult composer for Bassoonists.

Weil Mozart in seiner Musik meistens sehr spielerisch ist! Er ist in seiner Art unvergleichbar.

You're the absolute favourite Mozart bassoon on TH-cam! Before Thunemann and all his famous pupils ;-) . Bravissimo, maestro!

Bassoon, one of my favourite musical instrument. Well done, Aligi Voltan! Anyway, Mozart loved until the superlative all blowing instruments, mostly the clarinet. A young Orchestra fits very well with Mozart youth, with his brilliant spirit. Thank you!!

I love that the cadenza (first movement) truly shows off the remarkable range of the bassoon.
