Nice video. Kinda got me a little more enthused on my three 4g eclipses. Bought 2 with bad clutches for $600 pair (4 cylinders) and a wrecked v6 auto for $600. Going to build 2 solid cars but havent gotten excited about them because they arent valuable and dumping money into them will be pointless unless I drive them.

I mentioned this in another comment earlier, but Injen (1st) or Magnaflow (2nd) is the way to go. It will keep your underhood engine temperatures lower as well; in addition to the HP benefits.
@@paintbrush6035 Hmmm...I'd recommend analyzing all the available exhaust systems they have for our 4g's. At least one would go perfect with a Y-pipe configuration.
We do have it! Sadly it’s had some unfortunate events. It got a big single turbo and the piston and valve came together breaking the valve and cracking the piston
Unfortunately not good news… the company the owner purchased the aero kit from decided to take the money and run. The car went through a turbo phase and the company that put the motor together timed the engine wrong putting a valve through a cylinder. Car is now in a shop torn apart.
Here's the thing...years after owning and repairing TONS on my 2006 3.8GT (manual), I have to say that this car is NOT a great budget car. Parts are near impossible to find. Dealers charge ridiculous prices for everything, and that's only if you can find it. I LOVE this car and have put a ton of time and money into it, and plan to keep it for many more years, but as a daily...I don't think so. Such a great drive, though!
That’s a nice looking car for sure, I have a 3g Eclipse myself, the GTS V6 Model from 2003 and it only has around 103k miles on it but I‘ve been having to replace quite a few parts lately.
Eclipses are good cars and I bet that eclipse was sitting for a little bit before you purchased it that’s probably why the new parts are needed or the previous oner didn’t take good care of the car mines the same way but keep with it trust me it will pay off in the end
@@justinzimmerman6375 yeah you’re actually exactly right about that, the first owner barely drove the car, which leads me to believe they probably didn’t take very good care of it maintenance-wise either. It’s unbelievable how much has been replaced. So far all of the following parts have been replaced: battery, alternator, starter, water pump, timing, serpentine, and power steering belts, clutch (also flywheel and pilot bushing), key switch, motor mounts, distributor cap and rotor, tie rods, rotors, brake pads, a few wheels studs, and one axle had to be replaced because the boot was cracked and couldn’t be removed without replacing the whole axle. I think there’s even more I‘m forgetting, but that’s definitely most of it. Also had my cylinder heads resurfaced and carbon cleaned out. It’s practically a brand new car at this point. Btw now it has 110,000 miles. I’ve done like 80% of that work but had to take it to the shop a few times. I‘m still paying off one of the repairs but after that I am gonna get the whole thing repainted.
i have a 2012 eclipse gs in carbon grey with black gt wheels i only bought it for $7k with 109k miles on it. i really want a gt but i cant find any gts that are 2012 near me i dont want the older ones bc i dont like the front grille style i like the black in the front
I always drive with my passenger seat all the way forward to get the best visibility and have the seat as far down as it can be being 6ft after the gym it’s definitely been a struggle getting in and out some days, doing a muffler delete in the upcoming weeks looking forward to what it’s gonna sound like bought mine with only 30k miles on it My first ever car and I’ll probably own it until the wheels fall off
I habe been speeding around in an 09 gs with 106k we just snagged for 1500.... its actually fun even though its under powered and overweighted. The blind spots are ridiculous but since its a small car, once you know them, its not as big of an issue. The highway kinda isnt fun bc of the 4 speed. Im at like 4k rpms just trying to stay at 80 with the Hyundai next to me 😆. Im going to be starting with mods this summer now that we have had it for a bit and know its sound enought to spend a little money on.
The best way to sum up the car is that’s it’s good enough! You want to mod it? Heck yeah she is good enough! Daily driver? Yeah good gas mileage let’s do it! It’s a good all around car that’s not great at anything but good enough at many things! I hope you enjoy your 09!
Aye I just wanna say you are actually wrong there is actually quite a bit you can do with the engine as long as you know what you are doing and it has been proven that the eclipse is one of the best tuner cars you can get it’s just under rated I have an 03 eclipse gs and I’m about to put a turbo on it tune it let’s just say it’s a full restoration it was sitting for 4 years and she’s going to be fast and aggressive when I’m done but love the Eclipse content keep up the good work
When it comes to the 3g and 4g eclipses they are different animals, the 3g has a whole different engine configuration which if I remember correctly is the 4g63 matching the EVO of the time. This allows for easy turbo mounting and tuning with that engine. The 4g has a 4g69 which is a different head setup including exhaust. This engine was not as popular as the GT came with a tunable V6 that made more power. What I know for sure is the eclipse in my video went through a whole custom turbo build and the engine builder did not set timing right and is now blown up in our shop.
Dish soap is good for removing the past waxes. Use this followed by a good deep polish I enjoy using mother’s show shine combined with a soft pad does well with scratch removal!
Don't use dish soap to clean your car. It's too harsh. Use car wash detergent. It's safer to use and it's PH balanced for your car. Dish soap is terrible for your car.
I appreciate the concern! I think the engine blowing up because the shop that built the turbo kit and head timed the motor wrong might have cause a little more damage.

I mentioned this in another comment earlier, but Injen (1st) or Magnaflow (2nd) is the way to go. It will keep your underhood engine temperatures lower as well; in addition to the HP benefits.
David Velasquez I’ve gotten a injen cai and a gt throttle body along with an under drive pulley since this. I’m saving for headers now
@@paintbrush6035 Sweet! Since you already have the Injen CAI (great intake btw!), I'd highly recommend the Injen exhaust. They go nicely together! :)
David Velasquez also tho my cars got a Y pipe which would look stupid with only one side muffler coming out what you think I should do about that
@@paintbrush6035 Hmmm...I'd recommend analyzing all the available exhaust systems they have for our 4g's. At least one would go perfect with a Y-pipe configuration.
Bro do you still have your Mitsubishi Eclipse we should get together sometime and cruise really love my eclipse with the 3.8 liter V6
We do have it! Sadly it’s had some unfortunate events. It got a big single turbo and the piston and valve came together breaking the valve and cracking the piston
Do you have a update with the aero kit
What did u have to repair
@@Randomguy-kn3nv let me guess. timing belt, ac (10 times), and top panels coming off. rust on the top part of the car
Wheel specs? I myself have an 06 4G gt V6 6MT, and got bolt ONS just need to tune
I hope to get a 10+ spyder gt or gs. As a beach car 😁
I have the 09 GS Spyder lightly modded and I love it
I have a 08 GS Spyder I want to know where he got the headlights
I was told he got them off CarID
My eclipse has that same shake, did you ever find out what’s wrong ?
i have a 2012 eclipse gs in carbon grey with black gt wheels i only bought it for $7k with 109k miles on it. i really want a gt but i cant find any gts that are 2012 near me i dont want the older ones bc i dont like the front grille style i like the black in the front
I always drive with my passenger seat all the way forward to get the best visibility and have the seat as far down as it can be being 6ft after the gym it’s definitely been a struggle getting in and out some days, doing a muffler delete in the upcoming weeks looking forward to what it’s gonna sound like bought mine with only 30k miles on it
My first ever car and I’ll probably own it until the wheels fall off
I rode in the back of a 4g, we jumped a hill going way too fast and I slammed my head on the back glass, very cramped
What have you done to the car since you uploaded this vid?
Love my 07...my neighborhood hates me! I got it rowdy as fuck
What exaughst would you suggest I go with? I have the same car
Injen or Magnaflow. Injen is more expensive, but they dyno'd it so you will know what type of gains you are getting exactly.
I have a 08 GT and I can’t agree that the gas mileage is any good. 19 mpg is auwful now a days. 40 dollars after 3 days of use
The dreaded hose kink..
We know the frustration all too well.
Nice car! Do you know which projector headlights did you get? Are this gloss black or matte black? Thanks!
The visibility is specially bad on the 4g spyder, love my car but when I have to back up it sucks
Hey, planing on buying a d30 eclipse as my first car, cause they're cheap in Germany and look good. Should l do it and is it good as a daily?
I have my 4g eclipse for sale and this video made me think about not selling it 😩
Tune it man put some mods you'll thank me later.
@Tech Hybrid mods would defenitely satisfy u
@@vincentquintero8028 give me a list bro
@@lonelynights5393 well intake exhaust coilovers set of wheels and some cosmetics too
Did you delete both catalytic converters or just the one behind the engine
I also find it quite roomy, as a 6'1 guy
Perhaps you had the seat app the way up lol
@@ert-wert yeah i also thought that
I habe been speeding around in an 09 gs with 106k we just snagged for 1500.... its actually fun even though its under powered and overweighted.
Looks like Chambersburg
Honest review, thx!
😅 he puts his seats down too huh. I always have mine down
What muffler / exhaust system has he got on there?
Richard Lloyd straight piped with a cat delete. Bold choice for a 4g eclipse if you ask me
Does your brother have an IG or YT as well for his eclipse?
At one point in time he did. The car went turbo.. blew up, got a stock motor and then sold. He now drives a big turbo A3
Aye I just wanna say you are actually wrong there is actually quite a bit you can do with the engine as long as you know what you are doing and it has been proven that the eclipse is one of the best tuner cars you can get it’s just under rated I have an 03 eclipse gs and I’m about to put a turbo on it tune it let’s just say it’s a full restoration it was sitting for 4 years and she’s going to be fast and aggressive when I’m done but love the Eclipse content keep up the good work
When it comes to the 3g and 4g eclipses they are different animals, the 3g has a whole different engine configuration which if I remember correctly is the 4g63 matching the EVO of the time.
U the next streetspeed717 you just gotta add music to the videos lol
I really appreciate that thank you! Thank you for your feedback I will definitely look into the music!
How tall are you btw? Im 5'11 and worry itll be too low for me
I’m 6’ on the dot
11 months late but I’m 6:2 in a 08 gt
Does he have a TH-cam? Looking to upgrade my 4g
He does not but stay tuned on my TH-cam there is a big update with the car coming!
Um noooo the gt version is the one with limited to no mods. The Gs is the one with alot of mods.......pretty basic stuff there
Yeah it's too bad there's little to no aftermarket for the gt :(
safe to say all 4gs have service engine light on
I have an 06GT and I love it..... but....... the gas mileage kills me. I daily drive a 2016 mazda6, but my eclipse is my fun car.
2003 g3 eclipse gt- but I got my head touching the roof
I have A2007 Spyder with 90k I love it never gave me a issues

Dish soap? And you likeyour car?
Dish soap is good for removing the past waxes. Use this followed by a good deep polish I enjoy using mother’s show shine combined with a soft pad does well with scratch removal!
Dawn dish soap? Rip paint
Rip car it died
@@CameronErikson wop wop wop.... I heard the AT in those are terrible. I'm not hating. I wanted one
@@MadeUpUserNem trans wasnt terrible, went single turbo, turner messed up engine went poof.
You did not just use dawn dish soap on a car 💀 hit it with some spot delivery after using a good soap for CARS. Ardex is a good brand
Im 6.2. Am i too tall to own this car?
Yes
Yes. 4 inches taller than what I would recommend.
Dude I'm 6'4 I got perfectly fine I have enough head room to put on a hat/helment for the track
I think the GT version is the best daily
I got one of these and it's basically bone stock
A super budget daily would be a Tiburon. Cheapest car made
AMAZING just get some Rallye eyelids!
Use turtle wash
they are PERFECT for daily or POWA lol
