  • Join us for Peruvian Breakfast in Lima, Peru as we prepare a large meal by going over to Wong Supermarket and picking out traditional Peruvian breakfast items along with things we just wanted to eat. When it comes to breakfast in Peru things such as humitas and tamales are staples along with pan con chicharron. However, we also decided to get plenty of Peruvian fruits such as lucuma, maracuya, cherimoya, papaya, pomegranate seeds and other dessert and snack type items including alfajores con manjar blanco, orejtias and chicha morada to go along with our coffee and tea. It ended up being quite the feast for breakfast in Lima, Peru. What do you eat for breakfast in Peru? Was there any Peruvian breakfast items that you'd like to try someday?

Los queremos mucho ! PD: para que los tamales sepan mejor se hace una ensalada criolla que lleva cebolla, perejil, limón (la cantidad depende de la cebolla), sal, pimienta y comino. Acompañarlo con un café para este invierno limeño.

I started following you guys on my other TH-cam account years ago. I'm always shocked that you don't have more subscribers. I don't know what's wrong with people. You both are so likable and honest in your representation of your travel and food experiences. When I was married my husband and I used to binge watch you while cooking and eating. I think I've seen all of your Peruvian videos before but I am watching them again under this account. Actually I think I've seen at least 3/4 of your videos. I've actually mentioned your channel on other travel vloggers videos in the comments hoping to get you more views. 😂 I've noticed that a lot of youtubers comment on other youtubers videos so that they get noticed.

A real Peruvian homemade breakfast has Pan Frances with whatever you wanna complement it with! Tamales in Peru are way different than Mexican and Latin American tamales! They are soooo good! To make it more Peruvian, next time you can buy the Sangresita de Pollo in Wong or the Salchicha Huachana. They are ready made. You just need to heat them up on a pan.. By the way, Humita dulce is not for breakfast but the salty one can be and the maracuya we never use it in fruit salads!

A quick suggestion for leftover breakfast tamales, have them topped with a salsa criolla on a roll of pan francés, or Peruvian ciabattas, yum! Fruits to try, mamey, granadilla (a sweet version of passion fruit), hopefully they are in season. Try cedrón as a tea, it’s very good. Greetings from a Peruvian in NYC :-)

It is a refreshment with a particular flavor. When it is in the boiling stage, some cloves and cinnamon sticks are added, the more "adventurous" add some small pieces of peeled apple or pineapple afterwards. And yes, it has some lemon juice and is sweeten with sugar.

You should try "lead belly" for breakfast. That's the closest English translation. There are places in Lima that serve it. Essentially it is hot crushed chick peas, topped with chillies, onion, garlic and a raw egg. It gets its name from the fact you won't need to eat again until 5 pm.

I found you guys because I wanted to know if Chef Gordon Ramsay has ever been in Peru (so far he has not visited) and one of the videos I have watched was the "Flor Nautica" restaurant and ever since I have been subscribed and kept up with your videos. Much Love from Florida!!!! (Yes I am Peruvian)

Cool, I'm also in Lima, Peru.
Lucuma is probably a little rough to eat whole. Next time try making it into a milkshake.
You can also cut the side of the tamal wrapping with a knife or scissors and just squeeze it.

I REALLY need to get my hands on tamales, they look so delicious - probably hard to find in the UK though. Did anyone else spend half the video thinking there was someone sitting behind Sam...?

I am from Peru but live in USA for a long time. Anyhow, did you use Airbnb for staying in Lima? I was in Lima this year and I stayed in Fiesta Hotel & Suites and also Sol de Oro Hotel & Suites, I loved both places but I am looking but better option with less budget. Any help would be appreciated. By the way, I love your Vlogs

Thank you! Check out airbnb dot com and you can sort by city, neighborhood, price range and also size of apartment. You can get some nice places in Lima in the $30 to 60 USD range.

Is not often to eat directly the starfruit or carambola, more frecuently is used for make juices, you need to blend it with water and sugar and then you strain it. The chirimoya is very delicious and is a typical peruvian fruit. The black things in the humita are rainsins.
