Eating PERUVIAN CEVICHE from Fishermen's Market to Restaurants! 😋🇵🇪 | Ceviche Taste Test 3 Ways!

- We're eating Peruvian ceviche across Lima and taking you to 3 different places for a mix of flavours and styles. If there's one dish you have to try in Peru, especially if you're travelling along the coast, it is ceviche!
We'll start at the Fishermen's Market in Chorrillos, where you can either sit down at one of the restaurants where the ceviche is prepared fresh, or you can get a cup of leche de tigre to go. Leche de tigre, literally tiger's milk, is the citrusy juice the fish is cured in. At the market, it is served in a cup with bits of fish, breaded squid, and plantain chips.
Then we'll continue to the neighbourhood of Barranco, where we'll eat at a restaurant called Canta Rana. Here we'll have mixed ceviche with fish, shrimp and squid. Plus all the classic ingredients like sweet potato, red onions, white corn, toasted corn, and spicy ají.
Lastly, we'll go to the neighbourhood of Miraflores to eat at Punto Azul, which is one of our favourite restaurants for ceviche. This time around, we'll try their oriental ceviche, which is Peruvian-Japanese fusion food. This ceviche is different in the sense that it has certain ingredients like soy sauce, sesame oil and spring onions that come from Japanese cuisine.

We are finally getting out of America this summer! Going to Mexico City to see a couple of friends and we plan to have some wonderful Ceveche while there.
I missed my return flight from Lima a few years ago and had to stay another day, then I remembered you were talking about this place so I went. Great pick. I will definitely go back next time I'm in Lima to try Sam's dish.

Ohh Samuel and Audrey, glad to see you back ^^ now that you're once again in Lima, come to San Miguel, I think you haven't tried "Ceviche Crocante".
Here in San Miguel you can try it in "Señor Limón", there you can also try Charela a la Parrilla, Chicharrón de Pescado, Matrimonio (ceviche with causa) and Pescado Tusán.
Other restaurants to try there are "Delicass" (the Lomo Saltado here is so great).
"Zugatti" (nice sandwiches, specially the Lomo Saltado sandwich and their Lucuma ice creams).
San Miguel is colder and cloudier than the other districts so you will be very fresh :-) if you go to Plaza San Miguel, you will see lots of restaurants.
I also recommend you to go to "Chifa Taiwán" and "Chifa Freddie's", they're in Jesús María (same avenue and same owners), the sopa Pac Pow, Chijaukay, Arroz Chaufa, Chancho con Verduras are amazing and they have the best "wantanes fritos", best chijaukay also.

Wow! That dessert looks REALLY special! What a great way to be introduced to a fruit you've never had before. Also I love the different takes on ceviche. Audrey's fusion dish proves you can make a dish "creamy"without having to add dairy products and in so doing, keep it a lot more digestible and healthful and I'm sure just as delicious - if not more so.

Nice ceviche testing days. In ten days in Lima, how many days could you see the sun? Is it every day foggy?
It's mostly foggy along the coast. There were many days when we had the thickest fog in our neighbourhood, but then we'd drive 10 minutes into the city, and it was sunny with clear skies. One way to instantly improve the weather during your trip, is to stay more 'inland'. Then you could get 10/10 sunny days, otherwise maybe 3/10 during this time of year.
