Tamales sound so good. I've never had Peruvian tamales, so I'm curious about it!

They’re delicious! 😋 Lots of work if you make them from scratch like my grandma but so good!

I love the sentiment in your traveler definition. I am a culinary anthropologist who loves to eat outside my normal diet. Great insights. We are so excited to see Peru for the first time next month. As a father and son team of park rangers/anthropologists, we love to see people enjoy the world and its cultures. If watching a couple geeks travel the world to promote culture and eco-tourism while planting trees and cleaning beaches interests you, maybe you will enjoy our stuff too. Keep the content coming and happy travels. - Bear

Come to think of it, I don't know if we have a typical Suriname breakfast in Suriname. I enjoy advocado on my bread though. I have some in the house but I'm still waiting from them to ripen enough. 😋

That’s crazy! I thought everyone had typical foods for breakfast 🥳👏🏽👏🏽 Do the avocados taste different in the NL than in Suriname?

@@StefsPeruTravelTips I could ask around if we do have typical foods for breakfast over there. I just never learned about it.
Yes, I do taste a difference. From memory, I'd say the difference is in the bitterness. Maybe less creamy in taste or kind of spicier.

@@StefsPeruTravelTips So far, I'm getting "food from the day before", rice with egg, bread with peanutbutter and tea, bread with sardine and peppers.

But I don't know about stopping at a vending cart to buy some "yesterday's food" 😬
