I bought an RTIC cup, and it works very well in my car. Ice cold drinks all day long. The lid hasn't melted yet, maybe it hasn't got to 325 in my car yet. If your car gets to 325 inside, better get the Yeti.
If your car gets to over 325°F or 162°C you would not have a car as the interior would melt
That was my point. LOL.
Dan Albertson love my RTIC
RTIC is the same thing
Ok Einstein convention just take some deep breaths
When it gets around 325 degrees outside I usually go inside to the air condition.
LOL
Who would even think to use 325 degrees as a test.
+Pantharen
No close to 200 yes...but 325 not so much professor.
Someone must be focusing heat vision or microwave energy on you.
Not even 200 degrees. The temp inside your car is roughly 30 degrees hotter than the outside air temperature after about an hour of sitting in direct sunlight. So if its 100 degrees outside the hottest your car will be is around 130 - 140. Its possible to reach temperatures of around 170 inside a car that has been sitting all day in direct sunlight if its over 100 degrees outside but it is not the norm.
The sound wasn't air escaping, it was air entering. Between the two layers of stainless steel was a partial vacuum.
aha. Makes sense!
whats inside a car engine
What's inside real life?..
RickMakes nerd alert
We know
You put plastic in the oven????
Where is Mom?
Pam Erard that’s what I said! Mom is going to kill them,!
Haha
Lol😂
She is probably out hooking.
Nice family though, your house looks big, that's cool.
BBC
Has a saw with metal cutting blade outside yet tries to cut stainless steel with a hatchet... Need I say more.
With a hatchet while wearing sunglasses, you mean. lol. The kid definitely gets it for his dad/brother. lol
No.
Stop it
Hmmm cutting steel in a mitre saw and not clamping the cup in place. Frigging lucky it wasn’t a disaster. Buddy go take some safety lessons at a community college !
Please do...
This is the most upper middle class thing I've ever seen.
This is the best comment I've ever seen. 🤣
Dmac 740 I mean I guess. Not filthy rich though, but pretty rich, he’s probably main like, 170k a year
@Dmac 740 What how do you think they're rich lol looked like a normal kitchen
@@ViktoriousDead Damn where I live 170k/year is middle class
@@anthonyb2990 lol no. That's not a normal kitchen and you clearly don't know what middle class actually looks like.
Suggestions for others to try: put cups in 100 degree oven instead of 325. The artic cup may be as good (or better) than the Yeti if you tend to use your cup in climates below the melting point of plastic, as 100% of the human population does.
Tbe sound of air when the seal was cut was air rushing IN, not out. There's a vacuum in between the 2 layers to prevent thermal conductivity. Since the bottom is in direct contact with a solid, it conducts the most heat. That's why the gap is larger there. Great job fellas!
I should have checked the comments first, but this guy nailed the answer.
I have the Rtic, my brother has another knockoff called Artic and a friend of mine has a Yeti. The Yetis is $40, the knockoffs are $18-$20. They're all vacuum-wall insulated cups made out of the same grade of stainless steel. It's not like vacuum insulation is a technology Yeti invented.
Real-world our three cups have functioned identically. Next to my brother's swimming pool in full sunlight the ice lasted the same amount of time. Indoors, ice will last in my Rtic for about 18 hours.
So, the only real difference seems to be that the Rtic plastic lid melts at a lower temperature than the Yeti. Since I don't keep my Rtic in a 325-degree oven, I'm not sure the plastic lid is worth an additional $20.
+Ken Seeber Wal Mart has the Ozark trail tumblers 30oz for $10 same as Yeti and works just the same.
+Joseph Garcia I have two of the Ozarks and they are just as stout and made in China just like the $40 Yeti. Would the lid handle 350°? don't care because it's only gets about 120° worst at my job. It's also proven to keep drinks as cold as the Yeti.
+Ken Seeber But WHO would drink 18hour coffee?(This is a joke don't take it seriously.)
The oven test is idiotic. "Yeti is better because the lid didn't warp at 325 degrees". Thanks for the real world test. If it's ever 325 outside, I hope I'm not thinking "damn I wish I had s yeti..."
this comment is wayyyyyyy underrated.
He tested the internal temp of the water when surrounding temp was at 325. The Yeti water temp was cooler than the rest....I would assume it has better insulation.
I'm going out on a limb here, but the insulation might have been compromised by the broken lid.
Hunter E. Ummmm.....are you serious? The thick plastic lid which was hot enough to warp, fell into the water. Do you think maybe the 300+ degree piece of plastic that fell into the water, might've warmed up the water?
It also doesn't make sense why the cup with the lowest temperature would win afterwards. If the temperature is higher, that is an indication of better insulation. Not the lowest, which indicates that heat distributed faster into the enviroment.
putting a plastic mug full of water into your oven is probably the dumbest thing ive seen done by accident on youtube.
Then his son touched it and stuck his face over it
Yep
Your birth was probably the dumbest thing god ever did
if you see a correlation between god and birth, then you are the dumbest thing ...
+Peter- thanks for your personal opinion....
No, no gas came out of it. Gas (air) went into it. The vacuum normally contained between those layers you found halts two of the three ways in which heat can be transferred, namely conduction and convection. This leaves only radiation, the least efficient of the three to move heat into or out of the cup. This is why it keeps stuff the same temperature.
Thank you! I thought the same thing when he said that. What part of "vacuum seal" did he not get?
Have either of you guys ever filmed a video like this? It takes some concentration to be able to talk and do stuff while on camera. Maybe he just mixed his words. I don't think we should assume he doesn't know.
I already knew what was inside the cups prior to watching the video...I have taken countless chemistry courses.
Botany major...Automotive Technology minor.
.
Yeah, I think it was just a father son, or step-dad son thing they did for fun.
Yeah, air didn't come out, it went in, the oven temperature didn't need to be so high as to melt the plastic, and they could've taken all the cups out at the same time (not sure if they controlled the ice cubes placed into each in addition to the water
Complains about cups being expensive. Destroys them.
Earns $15000 by posting the video to youtube.
Some people don't have to worry about throwing away $70 to help others who are curious about useless knowledge... Guess you're not one of them?
Obviously the guy isnt hurting for money. I mean look at his home. He isnt living in a trailer park!!!
...while filming in his massive kitchen with 15 -foot ceilings and marble countertops.
I currently have an Aladdin 30oz Tumbler and had it for 4 years. Been through 3 lids and the 3rd one eventually broke. I broke down and custom ordered a 30oz Yeti. I can't wait until it comes
Plastic melts when you put it in the oven, wow this guy is smart
ikr
Even in the desert, it doesn't get to 350F.
*looks for the time stamp where they in anyway said that the plastic would not melt*
Yeah, they weren't plastic.
The yeti is a higher density Poly, may not even be polyethylene maybe a 6/66 nylon
there was a case were a highway trucker got into an accident and the truck burnt down and in the middle of that the fire fighters were able to salvage a YETI cup still cold with all the ice still there unharmed.

+WatchGarrison lol ok
Aaaah, that's so cute.
Maybe 100 deg for 4 hours might be a more realistic experiment?
+PingasTheFourth the op is prob 9
***** When was the last time you spent an afternoon working in 350 deg weather? Ovens can be set for 100 degrees at least mine can.
I can't think of any off the top of head, but that's hot. I would call in sick if I had to work in 350 deg weather
I won't say all ovens can be set at 100 as I'm not familiar with all ovens, but mine certainly can be as can the one at my parents home and others I've seen. Perhaps yours just doesn't have that option.
***** the warm setting is 100 but that really wasn't my point.
The best part of the video is a father doing things with his son, treating him with respect, and the son looking up at him with admiration, the happiness glowing in his face. Cups? $10. A loving parent and a child? Priceless. (Lest we forget.)
Great comment
Why would you test these cups by putting them in the oven? Probably the most non scientific test I've seen.
But it was cool. I think if they tried to be as scientific as they could it would be less interesting.
I was hoping to get a fair comparison of how well they actually work.
He should have stopped once the tops came off...
Considering how much more quickly the RTIC cup's top fell in, it has me considering that brand as the affordable alternative. Off to amazon...
And LOL @ putting plastic in an oven set to 350°F. What did they expect to happen?!
It was "heat resistance" test, so a really hot oven was probably a great environment for the "test". BTW, they repeated more than 7 times, do not try this in your own oven.
Yeah, and the fact that the RTIC lid fell into the water, heating up, he should've re-did the test. Just leave the lids off of both, the YETI and the RTIC, then take the temp. I have an RTIC and it works perfectly.
He never said that the RTIC cup did not work, mater of fact, he showed the it did maintain a level of coldness, even with the lid failure. Would you agree?
this person that made the yeti design left the yeti company and the owner didn't follow up on its patents so he made RTIC which is actually supposed to be better and cheaper
Interesting. from our experiment it appears the plastic lid is a cheaper quality plastic. Cool cup though.
im guessing you read my comment
keep up the awesome youtube vids and tell Lincoln to stop touching hot things lol
+What's Inside? The lid is actually cheaper but the cup overall is the same and a little bit bigger... I got the RTIC and my brother has a yeti (both 30oz) and just about every test we did ended up with a degree or two (f) difference... But I spent $20 where he spent $40
that's what I'm getting at
He doesn't look like he does much work with his hands 😂
Great to watch a father-son team trying/testing things....thank you for sharing these videos
Can I ask why you didn't do this experiment in the exact OPPOSITE? For safety's sake why not put HOT liquid in the cups and place them in the FREEZER? Same experiment, far safer. Just saying. Thanks for the info though, very helpful as Yeti's can cost $100 it's nice to know they actually do what they say they do.
Because the cups claim to keep drinks COLD, not hot
Quoted DIRECTLY from the Yeti website
"The Rambler series of drinkware is the first line of YETIs you can fit in your hand. And, yeah, we over-engineered them to be virtually indestructible and keep your drink as cold (or hot) as science allows. With 18/8 stainless steel construction, double-wall vacuum insulation, and No Sweat™ Design, they’re perfect for the deer lease, cleaning table, or just the times in between your outdoor adventures." Thanks.
Well it won't be as awesome
I think they're supposed to do a better job of keeping cold drinks cold than keeping hot drinks hot.
Oh come on...you can’t be serious. Read their website before you buy. They only say it will keep the liquid twice as cold as plastic. My bets are this guy didn’t preheat the oven..it takes st least 15 minutes for most ovens to come to temp and he said he did 20. min though I’d have to go back to check - did we hear a beeper go off, did we see it count down? He was so busy dealing with melting plastic..not sure he really did a full 325F for a full 20 minutes. Most guys don’t realize you have to preheat an oven when directions say to bake at certain temp for a certain period of time.
Please get Lincoln evaluated

I like it when he reprimands him for doing it and didn't edit it out
Do what's inside a goldfish next
"Don't try this at home"
Ok, I won't put 5 water bottles, one of them being plastic, in the oven. Thanks for the tip
lmaooooo
not surprising.... lol his kid grabbed a metal cup that just came out of the oven. Not the sharpest tools
We learned that when a hot piece of plastic falls directly into water it will raise the temperature.
psmendyka can we get a round of applause 👏 ............. waow
Does he or does he not look like a knockoff/store brand Ryan Reynolds that’s not funny?
Get the RTIC cup...same thing and you can get a RTIC lid with a lid that you can shut so you can minimize any spilling.
Love mine...
Ozark trail cups Walmart, they do the same thing for 10 bucks.
+H Montoya agreed. i had mine in a car in the 95+ degree weather for 6 hours and the ice was still there when i got back from a bunch of fire calls.
I agree with u Montoya and Rodney. Other better tests I watched in real life conditions showed that the RTIC was the best then YETI then Ozark Trails but the difference was so minuscule that they are all almost the same. The price on the other hand makes it a easy decision IMO.
+Jack Angermeier That's impressive!
I did this with my yeti knockoff. It was in my car for 13 hours in 90+ degree weather, and it still had lots of ice left. BTW, the inside of my car was 120
Yeti cups are vacuum insulated; therefore, the gas you were hearing was ambient atmospheric pressure (the air you are breathing) being pushed inside the vacuum void--NOT gas escaping; it's high pressure propagating to lower pressure. High pressure ALWAYS propagates to lower pressure, e.g. Atoms with "excited" energy levels want to return back to their "stable" lower energy level {I think it's an ideal gas law and quite possibly a law of thermodynamics as well}.
07:02 Suspect there was NO air in it, the hissing noise was air rushing in.
yes they are vacuum sealed that's why they do so well
Nothing insulates better than nothing!
Yes. it's called a Dewar Flask. Or by a tradename of Thermos.
the RTIC (and Stanley vacuum mugs) are built the same..
I could have told him there was nothing in it $50 cup destroyed for nothing
Lincoln's face when he got burnt was priceless
Ikr
The way his dad looked at him , poor kid
+Santii K dafuq? Dan was worried about his kid (or its intelligence) and Lincoln is a poor kid? He's in like 5th grade or what, I knew, that I shouldn't touch anything and especially metal that could be hot, when I was like 6.
Taughnex Intelligence? it was a mistake, maybe he was distracted, im sorry einstein
Santii K man, you dont need to be einstein, to know that...
Love to see a Dad and son together, rehearsed or not. Nice young man. However, in the real world is the stuff stays so cool because the area between the layers inside the container is a VACUUM. You need molecules of some sort (air) to transfer heat. Perhaps Dad should be teaching his son science instead of destruction. Nice vid though.
Thus the hissing sound !
well said sir
If you need molecules of some sort to transfer heat, how does the heat from the sun get here?
sun's heat gets to earth by radiation which excites molecules in our atmosphere which causes heat.
Tom Stern Yeah, thanks Tom. I just wanted to know if Gary knew that. Conduction, convection, radiation. Vacuum halts two of the three.
I was hoping that hatchet would hit that granite counter.
Simon Ward hahahahha
I did too

Simon Ward me too
Peter Patrician yea his wife woulda been real happy with that
Waiting for you to crack your granite counter top so we can see WHAT'S INSIDE YOUR CABINET.
I was too. 😂

overthehills_faraway It's their channel. It's his risk. I guess a better question is asking yourself why it bothers you so much.
*****
I'm not bothered in the least what makes you think that.
Because it's dumb. I do construction and respect what a counter top like that costs. Throwing down a towel to protect anything in the kitchen could save thousands of dollars of unnecessary damage.
Why didn't you use a reasonable temp like 100 degrees? They all would have been testable.
that's exactly what I thought. At work, my vehicle winds up reading near 100 F when it's not parked in the shade on a sunny 85-ish day. My cooler keeps all my water cold for the whole work day but it clearly does not maintain the exact same temp as the start of the day (not even taking into account that I open and close it often and of course have less water bottles in it at the end of the day). If I left everything in there all day, the cooler and ice pack would be warmer but still cold-ish when it's time to go home.
You're melting the lid of the artic at unearthly temps and calling it a fail. When parked in 100 degrees, a car's interior gets up to about 140... speeding up your test in 325 is not a good test.
+Yale Sommer -agreed
you gotta admit, pretty impressive that the yeti's had no fail. they should have tested the Ozark Trail cup at Walmart since it claims to be yeti knock off.
+michael hammond it's been tested many times. It proves to work about better that yeti.
Thanks for increasing my knowledge span! When I first came across this channel, I thought I wouldn't enjoy it, but you guys have done things which I'd thought I'll never see!
Cool. Thanks!

Hi, I’m Guy Fieri, and we’re rolling out looking
for America’s greatest diners, drive-ins, and dives.
It's called an annular space. It is the method used to hold all cryogenic fluids like liquid oxygen and argon. The annular space has a vacuum pulled and it's sealed (sometimes additional insulation is placed in the annular space like perlite. ) Many thermos jugs have a similar concept but not as high quality materials as the Yeti.....thus making the vacuum inefficient and causing heat leak. The reason there is a large space on the bottom is the bottom is generally in contact with a warm (or cold) surface enhancing heat leak. So they make that annular space larger. The hiss....was the vacuum breaking and air pressure returning to the space. This is technology that has been around since the 1940's. Cryogenic storage in minniature
There's no such thing as additional insulation relative to a vacuum.
No.. its meant to create an absolute barrier so that the warmth from your hands do not melt contents inside while holding it
Is it bad that I don't even watch them cut open the device/product, I just like watching the review part.

4:18 is my favorite part lol
so, the rtic isnt a knockoff of yeti, the rtic's designer worked for yeti and quit to build his own company, though the budget was a tiny bit under, that is why the plastic on yeti was more durable.
your welcome xD
+A Gamer that sounds like a knockoff.
yeah, your right :/
+A Gamer you're*
so but a rtic with a yeti lid?? lol
The RTIC isn't a knock-off. It's the exact same thing as the Yeti. They're made in the same factory.
whats the address of this factory since you have apparently visited it? Id love to check it out myself just like you did.
I've never visited the factory, it's in China.
The company I work for sells these things.
The rep we buy them from has an office at the factory in China.
My boss can tell you more than I can, I'm just the graphic artist.
Still waiting for your call, Rexx.
You look like a guy who needs some Yeti tumblers for your business.
Let me laser-etch your logo on some tumblers for you.
The lid is clearly made from inferior material.
RTIC is the new company of the founder of YETI. He sold the company but hold the patents and went on to "create" RTIC as the same product at half the price. I sell YETI cups and coolers.
I use the Walmart knockoff and it keeps liquids cold for thousands of years! I simply avoid putting them in a 325 deg oven. Real world test would have been a 150 deg oven to simulate a car sitting in mid summer temps.
This is awesome that you do these things with your son!!! More people should do this. He'll remember this forever and will be a wonderful father someday and do the same with his children.
Actually when it was time for yeti to renew their patent they were a day late and many different Chinese vendors stole their patent and re-created the same cup but for cheaper.... And I have both but the cheaper stays colder long especially in this 100+ degree weather😊
Yep, the $9 Walmart Ozark is beating the $40 Yeti in head to head tests
+Bullitt Garage I know ✊🏾
Have you had an issue with rust yet? A guy I work with has rust on his now. Just asking. I have a YETI (Bought with a discount) and an RTIC as well and you can't tell a difference. But just curious on the Ozark.
+Tiffany Snodgrass I feel that you would only get rust if you don't clean your cup out every day... Which is something you should do to every cup no matter how much it cost. But I haven't had a problem and My cheaper cup stays colder than the yeti I feel
+Tiffany Snodgrass I don't know about your particular case, but I can say that you need to avoid getting bleach on stainless steel. It will pit the metal and cause it to rust. I learned that the hard way on an expensive piece of restaurant equipment. Some people put a small amount of bleach in the rinse water to sanitize the dishes before drying them and I would assume that could cause problems with these cups.
To answer your question “No Yeti cups are not bulletproof a 9mm or a .40 S/W will pass through the first three Yeti cups and dent the fourth.”
Using a hatchet against something on a very expensive stone counter is really bad idea even if it is cultured stone. Did you not think of clamping into a vice and using a hacksaw or motorized cut off tool?
I don't think he thinks too much into it. He's probably more concerned about uploading in a rush to get views than you is about safety.
Judging by the Caddyshack tablecloth shirt I guess Judge Elihu Smails has no money worries. . .
SSHAMR0Ckk Man look at your language. Hypocrites get no respect my friend.
MiJoPaFo Good point. That is how a person loses what they have so hopefully he will wake up. Most people today working a JOB (Just Over Broke) would probably have an issue with that level of carelessness.
I think that's exactly what the wife told him after he so proudly showed her their scientific discovery!
The RTIC is the same as the YETI.. The lids are the only difference.
wonder why the yeti lid is so much tougher, and yeah if the RTIC lid held up I'm sure the temp would have been similar
Why didn't you cut the less expensive cup open and show us what was inside of that? This seems like a somewhat biased demonstration.
agreed, we need the others opened for comparison. why did the yeti keep the water colder? better design, same design but inadequate vacuum or steel? we dont know.
Through design it kept the heat away from reaching inside.
The water was initially at 8*C because the ice hasn't melted yet.
Later, the water got colder (3*C) because the ice melted.
=======
For a more conclusive experiment, they should have started with cold water... NO ICE INCLUDED
Not to mention the HOT lid fell into the Artic cup causing the heat to be absorbed by the water.
I own both. Did a side by side experiment. The Rtic held colder than my Yeti. Walmarts Ozark brand has a knockoff in the game now. it's cost is super cheap. I wonder how it compares.
The Ozark Trail 30 oz is < $10 and the 20 oz is < $8. I have both, and as far as I can tell after a month of daily use they work every bit as well as the Yetis and Rtics in real world situations. There are other Yeti/Ozark comparison videos out there where people pack them with ice, then after 24 hours they pour out the melted water and it's the same amount in both. Even if the Yetis ~are~ technically a bit better, they're certainly not ~that~ much ($20 - $30 more expensive) better. :)
Do what's inside on Amazon echo

"Oh I wonder what's inside a box that makes sounds" - Speakers and circuit boards
You're basically just asking "Do what's inside (insert literally anything with a speaker here)
You can buy the exact same cup at walmart for $10.
Yea lol and it works just as good if not better xD
ozarks are literally crap compared to yetis. I have both and my yeti keeps hot beverages hot for most of the day and cold beverages cold for over 24 hours where as ozarks will be luke warm within about 4 hours
Then you must have gotten a defective Ozarks cup. I have 3 of them and they literally keep ice in my cup all day long. If they only held drinks cool for 4 hours then this 325 degree temp test wouldn't have even been close. There are non bias reviews all over the internet showing the knockoff brand cups doing just as well as Yeti's.
actually they kept things hot for only 4 hours
Lol, you do know they are both made in the same factory? Only the lids are both made at different g factories.
Thanks for proving the Yeti really does what it's designed for, though I think the 325 oven was overkill. Interesting to say the least.
Ozark walmart kind are knock offs but mine works even better than both yeti and rtic for only 9 bucks
Same
did you test this hypothesis/ claim using a similar method? if so, what were the exact results/ measurements?
Ive heard the same thing from a buddy im going ozark
Ozark Trail and RTIC are made in the same factory. Someone on Redditt posted a crate of Ozark Trail cups getting unloaded at a Wal Mart with RTIC bottoms on them.
I don't mean to be judgmental but, by the looks of the house these people live in, I could probably safely assume that they haven't spent too much time in Walmart. You are right, though. Ozark Trail are just as good, if not better than RTIC or YETI.
can't believe you put a plastic mug in a 2500$ stove!

Wow dude you need therapy
Oh yes, because people who work hard are terrible.
okay guys class is over, time to go back into your padded cells.
I think you and your son had a great idea. I think where things went off the rails was the oven segment. None of the cups were designed to withstand those oven temps and it is not how they are used. Maybe put them in a hot car next time?
Possibly y'all thought a comparison of the cups at room temp was not interesting enough, but I learned from it. I learned you don't need to buy the ridiculously priced Yeti products. So..thank you and your son for the excellent comparison and don't be discouraged by those who are being unkind.
John
He acts exactly like a rich dad acts
Elli Sowers ,did he really name his son Lincoln???
That’s the trend. Give your children last names or a state as their first name.
Ok Einstein convention just take some deep breaths
@@GLEby-wz5pn is lincoln a state?
Or you know, a cool president.
well everyone knows plastic will melt if u put them inside the oven with 325 degree
Not all plastics. There are high temp plastics inside jet engines, for instance.
Good job Daniel! we are all forever enlightened by your boundless wisdom.
.....clearly this is not a test of treated plastics in an extreme environment.
Daniel, the party pooper.
Ha! Look at the first three replies, Daniel. Now remember the Bibilical admonition about pearls before swine. Those people see facts, even simple every-day facts, as a confrontational. Ahhhhh... the youtube comment section.
i work at a plastic production facility and we make plastics that can withstand fire at 1000º
Can you do what's inside a blue yeti mic?
was gonna comment that. oh btw that's the one leafy uses right?
hisssss
Hissss
BIG DADDY?!!!!!

2:25 - "Yes, the 30ozers don't have that much in it, but it's the same amount as these mugs."
That makes 100% no sense. 🤣🤣🤣
Which pencil is better? As we will test it with a bench grinder to see which one lasts longer -_-). Not a real world scenerio, just like this 325 degree test lol
The RTIC is probably hotter because the HOT LID fell into it
If the RTIC was made of better material the "HOT LID" would not have fallen into it.
I've baked cookies inside my car during the heat this year just to prove a point. Yes an interior of a car can reach as high as 350F. Plus this was supposed to speed up the test not be the test you dingle-hopper.
The inside of a car absolutely does not get that hot. I would enjoy learning where you picked up that statistic from. Please tell.
+English Muffin put a thermometer in your car..it reachs up to 120 degrees farenheit not much more other wise your interior would catch fire. you must be a Hillary supporter.
Candi Soda If they are cutting costs on their lid what else are they cutting costs on? Quality Control? Customer support? Are they outsourcing jobs to places with poor labor conditions? Other materials?
Not to mention, what exactly is point at which the lid starts to deform. If i put in a boiling hot liquid will it be fine? What if I do that every day, does it deform a little bit each time?
Point is, I'd rather spend a bit more on a more durable product that is built well than a knock off that can accomplish the same task but is less durable/more prone to issues.
Also, the story is the other way around. Country A spends a million dollars on a pen that works in space while country b just uses a pencil.
The sweater Lincoln is wearing makes me think he gets bullied at school.
he's probably homeschooled
Daniel Greene True
+Anime Cupid lmao, took me a few seconds to get it but that's funny af
oh my God made my day xD
lol sounds like of of those memes.
"always bullied at school. actually home schooled" 😂😂😂
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! This is such a cool thing for you to do with your son! What a great way for you to spend time together and have fun too, LOVE this! P.S. I hope you don't let your son read these comments as so many of these people seem to be miserable human beings who like to tear everything apart regardless of wether or not it is deserving.
Jose Suazo Agreed =~)
From this comment alone I know you have ovaries.
Alex T And your point is?
+Vic lol you missed the point honey bunches
"Don't let your son read the comment sections." Says this in the comment section
“Don’t try this at home” you can’t afford it.
I have both a 30oz & 20oz yeti I also have both a 30oz & 20oz RITC. the RITC last 30 mins long then either Yetis. my personal opinion is both brands are the same. though the RITC lasted 30 mins longer for me, I don't consider anything under an hour justifiably to purchase the higher priced item. BTW l9ve your videos
Dude how long did it take because it takes about 38 hours for ice to melt in a yeti... with no liquid
I have a 30oz yeti and a 30oz ritc. there. to me they are the same cup. both lids fit on eather cup. not to trash talk yeti but why spend all that money when you could pay less then half for a ritc that does the same thing. these days I think yeti is just another status symbol.
RTIC does the same thing YETI we have both kinds, The makers just don't expect you to PUT THEM IN THE OVEN!!!!
I have a 30oz rtic I paid $9 for. It's pretty good.
I have had the Yeti and now I have the Beast and it's been just as good.
It wouldn't surprise me if they are all made at the same Chinese plant. 🤣
Open Lincoln's brain and let the chromosomes flow
What brain?
+EquaL Karat He's a child what do u expect?
He's a kid. Calm down
jesus dude ur comment killed me
I use the Yeti Rambler coffee mug every single day and it’s worth 3 times as much as I paid. I got so sick of reheating coffee. Big enough for soup or camping stuff. It’s bulletproof. The paint or whatever hasn’t scratched despite being on a metal wire table every day on my patio. Can’t praise that cup enough. It’s more like a coffee cup than this one. But for $25 or$30, I’d buy again no problem but don’t think I’ll need to.
What's inside an RC Car! Please like if you agree :D
I think they already did that
look in the channel
You just take the top off a rc car and you can see what's inside. Not worth a video.
Thy have!! I have!!
yes
Well. That should be enough cups for a while. Haha! Really learned a lot though! Now if someone can COMBINE all three of these cups into one...
Hi I'm early
Hi Guys. Nice Job. You Rock
so much for a week...
Фаоаь hahaha jk i love u
whats inside. please cut open a discus. i have won 4 gold junior medals in discus throwing and once i subscribed to u i always wondered what what was inside them. please cut one open
Guessing the wife was away during the making of this video!!!LOL
Air did make that hissing noise, but not the way you're implying. Between the layers is a _vacuum_; it's an excellent insulator.
When you puncture the container, air is let _in_.
The one that melted the lid was directly in front of the convection fan
Glen Milholland the hell are you doing? You’re not supposed to bring logic into this.
that was not air between the layers. it was a vacuum. the absence of any air at all prevents any conduction. the only way energy is transferred is through radiation, and conduction through the lid.
What's inside the gasoline machine
gasoline
ya
+Pikachris17 I think that's the joke
+Pikachris17 that was the joke smartass
The gas you heard was actually the air rushing into the vacuum in the void in between the layers. Heat cannot be conducted through a vacuum therefore isolating the contents from the ambient surroundings.
Pretty bogus test IMO. I have both 30oz cups and they perform identically in real "ïn the truck" daily heat. Typical old vacuum bottle [also called Dewar flask] construction that has been around over 100 years. The 18-8 stainless construction is the same and so it would stand to reason a bit of savings might be gleaned from a slightly different lid plastic.
Does anyone have one of the green metal Stanley thermoses on the shelf someplace? Same thing only its not a cup. I have a large 2 quart one [about $45 now] my dad used for many years for hot coffee at work. It will easily keep it hot enough to scald you well into the next day in freezing weather. Yetti is no more than a cliche remarketing of an old very successful technology.
Yeah, I have a stanley green thermos. I once filled it with coffee and accidentally left it at home on an out of town trip. I left early Monday morning, came back Tuesday night (34-36hrs) and the coffee was still too hot to touch. Granted it was left in the house and not outside in the winter, it's still impressive.
I use a 16oz "thermos" brand vacuum mug nearly every day for the past several years and it's still great, I can fill it up in the morning and it's still hot 4 hours later.
please never put Lincoln in another video he knows nothing about anything
Isn't he his son? I hope know one recognizes your child either
The channel started because of Lincoln. So if you don't like the videos then don't watch them.
+girzim03 Lincoln thought of the channel idea why would he stop being in vids just go watch someone else bro
Preach
Oh yea if you have a kid I hate him or her!! If you don't have a child go to hell m8!!
What's inside of a tesla coil lighter?
...I"m guessing a Tesla coil...
+Christopher Benjamin I just laughed so hard at this
+Christopher Benjamin lol
A small Lipo battery, a little circuitboard with a simple oscillator and a big mosfet and a potted high voltage transformer.
+drkastenbrot science side of TH-cam, I found a brother!
Fun fact - when ice and water are in thermal equilibrium, the temp of both is zero degrees C. No temperature change happens until all the ice is melted (going up), or all the water is ice (going down).
where's this kids other dad?
He has a mum not another dad
Denzel Tanti yup
Denzel Tanti Williams ... No he doesn't 🙄he has a mom! ...
🖐😂 Ok... ok, wait I'm just curious when you were a child in the UK did you call your mom ...Mummy?
😂 Oh my... I...😂 I...I just can't even. Ok, ok wewh!... So, did your mum walk like this 👉🧟♀️ 🤣 😂Oh gosh 😂
Haha that's what I was thinking purple shirt nice Bruce
Born Bred 113% Hollywood Local do you have to use that many emojis?
Why did no one make the unspillable stirring yeti cup
It would be so helpful
Get the new Yeti straw lid, it's awesome. Not a perfect seal but a very good design.
Santiago Draco because you would have to get a loan to get it
Lol
I got the Walmart brand of this same cup and it has worked better than the Yeti cup at keeping my drinks cold. I have drive a lot for work and it is really hot here everyday. Nearly 100 or more and I still have the same amount of ice left at the end of the day. Id like to see you test the Walmart brand. www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-30-Ounce-Double-Wall-Vacuum-Sealed-Tumbler/49772708 The Walmart cup sells for only $9.74 Yes Ozark is a Walmart their private brand.
Yeah Ozark had a test done where it's actually proven to be better than yeti it sat for almost 57 hours and still had ice in it. just a bit but it still had ice
Your car is 100 degrees inside while you're driving?
+Alex T LOL
+James Cavazos well done on missing the point completely. I imagine you often find yourself laughing last when someone tells a joke. I don't expect much from internet strangers, but I'll be lowering that especially for you.
Actually the Ozark cup and yeti are the exact same so is should work the same. Give them the ice test.
My yeti cup almost keeps my coffee too hot. I've actually come to my truck 5 hours later to find my coffee still really hot to the point where it burns my tongue when I go to drink it LOL you almost have to suspect that it'll be hot whenever you go to drink
You should have cut open the knockoff yetty cup
accidentally cut through one of those Yeti cups with a laser engraver about a year back
Why would you not do some thing practical like sit them in the sun
they get more money the more views they get so of course their going to go over the top
+Pine Apple but no one knows they're going to put it in the oven, so they'd have gotten the same amount of views regardless of whatever test they did.
Logically speaking, the more you exaggerate the test the better and more useful the results are. By putting the cups in the oven at 325, which is an environment the cups will never naturally experience, you can get a better sense of how good the cup can be. Worst case scenario, you are driving through a desert such as the Gobi, or Lut, or Sonoran, or Sahara, and temperatures are breaking 120.
+Sam Valentine if that were true, your skin would quickly blister in a car after a long hit day.
If a car would get 'way hotter' then 325 very few plastic could be used in a car. On average temp increases about 30% in a car so at 120 degrees it would only rise to about 160.
I have both a yeti and an Rtic, have left them both in me car this summer while I work (forgot to take them in) several time. The Rtic does better at half the price.
Don't believe me, check it on TH-cam. Several people have done controlled experiments with the cups and the coolers.
oldschoolgamerOo Thats what I was referring to...obviously a car is not going to get up to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. I was saying it would get way hotter than 120 degrees, the outside temperature.
I agree with the guy down below its never 325 degrees I use RTIC's and they are great for $11 when I got them on Amazon 30oz do the same test at about 100 degrees or so and both cold and hot drinks and cut both in half to show difference. another thing you don't need Ice just fill both with the same degree of drink for the same period of time. we all know they hold ice for close to 20 hours.
No I think the lesson is don't touch boiling hot cups LINKON
I would think if your interested in the cross-section of those SS cups you would first use the chop saw not a hatchet, unless your splitting kindling. That guy's wife is going to split his head with that hatchet when she sees what he and the kid did to her granite.
Something tells me the camera person was his wife...
Bill Nye i think too
I am laughing so hard right now Lincoln’s reaction when he burnt himself was hilarious!!! 😂😂😂
Have both yeti and rtic tumblers. They perform identical. The lids apparently melt at really high temp but as I always buy the yeti sliding magnetic caps for both they perform identically
Why 325°? Why not 200° or a little lower so you don't risk melting plastic and having your unspillable cups spill over?
This is the whitest family ever, and I thought I had a really white family
Even though you're a Pittsburgh fan
Since when does someones team choice show how white or black they are? That's the most idiotic thing I've ever read.
Your mom!!
And since when are there only white and black people around?
Yeap I thought I was white.
Let’s do this in our house in a high end kitchen appliance 🤦🏻♂️ and also allow our kids to be apart of it!
Bruh calm down, it's not that dangerous so who cares if Lincoln is there, and that's what there channel is, they test things and they do experiments it won't mess up the oven
RTIC would have performed similarly to the Yeti. The cap falling in made all the difference. In a convection oven, the hot air gets pushed into the cup much like a ceiling fan would melt your ice way faster without a lid to protect it.
