i got a coleman vaccum bottle. it normally stay boiling hot inside for 6hours++. one day i was ice fishing in about -20C weather the bottle tipped to the side and stayed in that position for 30mins. when i got to drink it was lukewarm inside. the liquids must not touch the cap! it is very important!

The reason your straw was too long for even the tallest Rambler bottle shown, the 36 oz, is because it’s pre-cut to the proper length to fit the 64oz Rambler bottle (not shown here), not to be confused with the half-gallon jug, which has its own style of lid.
Finally, the original Yeti cap is called the Triple Haul cap, for its 3-finger-width carry loop.

So really....I mean I will say though I had an Ozark Trail cup before that was good but I hated how bulky it was. I am sure I could have found a smaller ozark trail but you know...sometimes you just buy into the hype and have it to have the "better" brand.

Pack Hacker fan...I know you guys are fans of the Yeti. Love the look. Hate the poor heat retention of the Hot Shot and heft of the others for my backpack. Don't particularly love the mid-section bumping into my nose. Only 2 to 3 hours, lukewarm - no coffee fanatic is impressed with that - which is why it rarely makes best of lists. Has it proven to be leak-proof in a backpack (me and friends say not). The full-on cap seems the best for heat retention, but you lose drinking on the go. And a wide mouth on a train is no fun. Having the thermos cup - too many parts for many of us to juggle on the go. Hydroflask just responded to me saying, "none of our caps are leakproof." Hmmm. Then why do you make bottles? They also don't make best of lists for heat retention. I am trying out a Kleen Kanteen insulated that says it is leak-proof and has high heat retention. And I'll give the Yeti another Hot Shot. I don't think anyone's nailed it. Companies seem far superior at water (but not leak-proof bottles). I also find it interesting that as more backpack makers are designing sleeker bags, where water bottles now go inside, manufacturers better get with it. Shockingly, the Kinto Travel Tumbler is the best I've found so far. Can you tell I'm on a mission?
