you hate selling cheap cars? dude you LOVE cheap cars lol. You love bringing em back and doubling your money! Seriously, sure, exotics and high end are "fun" but I see you when you clean up a pig and it turns out great. You get stoked. What you DO hate was when German made more money than you on your cheap cars though hehehe
@@mph5896 Sometimes yes. But craig has shown repeatedly that he makes MUCH more selling 5 cheap cars than 1 expensive one. I think he only made $800 on his Bentley and maybe $1000 on his astin martin. German made 3x that on ONE of his beaters. If he puts $500 into that lincoln, be paid $1200 for it. If he can sell it for $3000 he's doubled his money. Not to mention there are more people looking to buy decent cheap cars than there are looking to buy $25000 cars. Specially now with the economy being in the dumpster. Now craig doesn't tell us about EVERY car he sells, but the ones that he has? He makes a much better ROI on cheaper cars than $15K + ones. If he buys 10 cars worth $1200 he spends about $12,000. He bought ONE SUV in this video for $12K. Now on those 10 cars, he'll make $2000 each. That equals $24K profit. He said he "might" be able to sell that $12K chrysler for $20, he'll make $8K on it. Do you think it is better to make $8K or $24K? Now he wont' get $20K on that chrysler. A flood car is worth about half what a non is. If it's listed at $30K "good" he'll be lucky to get $15K flood. I will admit I'm not in the car biz but I have been in sales for the better part of 30 years. It's all about cash flow and ROI and turnover.
@@muskokamike127 Car business has some differences over other sales areas. Craig is limited on how many units he can move each month based on his ability to buy, get them ready, inspect them, and physically sell them. It's not an infinite number. The specialty items he is purchasing like the Bentley is a toy for himself that costs him no money out of pocket. He can buy said toy, drive it until he is tired of it and still break even or even show he made a little $ off it. His bread and butter is the $15-20k trucks and suv's. This is based the his region he is in. Plus he is looking for higher mileage fancy "budget" $15-20k trucks/suv's , so the buyers can have what the rich are paying $60-100k for. And getting them financed to boot. Craig has explained MANY times why cheap cars are a pain. First thing is, they are old. In his region old usually equals rust. So more rust to deal with including underbody. Old usually also equals neglect or not repairing items for years and having multiple problems building up on cars. That $1k car might have 5 fairly major things wrong with it. In an area like his that requires inspections, all 5 of those items might have to be repaired at a cost that exceeds the cost of the car. Plus "cheap" attracts people that have little to no money. A $2,000 car might be a persons entire life savings to buy that car. When that 15 year old car breaks in a month, they are all up in Craigs business demanding this and that even though it was sold "as-is". If you are paying somebody else to fix your car, stuff is VERY expensive. My neighbor Brought her car to the local Subaru dealer for a look over. They quoted her $5k for some repairs including wheel bearings, tie rod ends, timing belt service and valve cover gaskets. Sure, a non dealer might be cheaper, but still prob close to $3k. In addition, budget buyers expectations are VERY high. That $2k car is going to have cosmetic and some mechanical issues that these buyers nitpick. His ideal purchases to maximize moving cars are the units that need little to no work. That way his time can be utilized to move other stuff. That Yukon, if it just requires a drop-off to the detailer and an inspection with little to no repairs. That is going to be MUCH quicker over that Lincoln that might need 3-4 items repaired, paint correction of the body, sourced a worn out interior part such as a seat cover and exc... The ROI at a pint does not matter since he is limited to how many units he can blow through. He operates on all cash, so everything he has is his money. Lets say he has $200k of inventory he is sitting on, making 100% roi on a beater is no different over making the same amount of $ on a $15k car. Which ever unit is easier to prep and sell is the winner in that scenario.
The average person doesn't have access to dealer only auctions, so paying $1,000 for a halfway decent car is in the realm where there may or may not be a lion, witch, and a wardrobe. How much do those with dealer licenses pay for brand new regular cars that are being sent to auction by dealerships to make room for 2023 inventory? For example, how much would would someone who can participate in dealer only auctions expect to pay for a 2022 Chevrolet TRAX base model with MSRP of $26,529 with less than 1,000 miles?
Don't trash the Lincoln. ALOT of older people are REALLY feeling the inflation and need solid reliable transportation. The Car Wizard loves all these Panther chassis Fords. Clean it up, service it and make someone happy.

The dealer auctions would have been nice, but there's deals to be had with public auctions and repairables. When I was 18 or so I bought a 2001 Chevy luminary for $260 total. Nobody wanted it because it wouldn't turn on but my then-boyfriends buddy brought a battery pack and charged it up enough for it to turn on. Zero problems with it! I finally traded it about a year later for a Camry my dad bought for me as he wanted the lumina for his friend. Though I also didn't take care of if since it was so cheap which I definitely regret. Either way I loved that car and it was an amazing deal!
Holdup, that 03 camry sold for $475... I own a 03 camry I just bought in April and I paid about $5000 for it... Guess I'm riding it til the wheels fall off.
That was a sickening good steal of a buy on that Limited Pacifica!! I drive a flood car that had 500 miles on it and was brand new from a dealer flood. All it had done was cleaned!
I'm late to this conversation but if you still have the Lincoln I say you sell raffle tickets and give it away. From watching your videos it's clear you are good/fair to your local community. Hopefully someone who really needs a solid car but can't afford one would end up with it. At least it could be marketed that way? Plus I think it would make a good video.
Stay honest to the Lincoln. Dress it up and sell to a person that needs a quality car for a reasonable price. something that is desperately needed and, as you've said, has been a rare find in the last couple of years
My family had a Denali with the 6 of us we used it to haul the Boat we got it detailed and then the week after it got picked up and totaled by a tornado.
I have an 05 base model mercury grand marquis 270k miles runs like a starving cheetah. No lights on steers stop and drives str8. That Lincoln should be a great car👍🏿
I’ve never considered going to an auto auction. I need to get a cheap commuter car. I could care less what it looks like.. just need good gas mileage and reliability. This video helped me a lot. I am pretty much looking for the same deal!
Need a couple 2x6's would have kept the bumper on! I had a 05 G35 Coupe 6sp, besides the quart of oil a week it burned it was an awesome car. I bought it for 15k with 63k miles drove it 4 years sold it for 5k to a guy at work 2 years later bought it back for $2,500 sold the next day for $3,500 to a kid trying to flip cars. He installed a new clutch that threw 9 cel codes and wouldn't run right. Bought it back from him for $2,500 he bought the wrong clutch kit, put stock flex plate back on and sold it for $5k bought and sold the same car 3 times! LOL should have kept it and just LS swapped it.
Hey Craig, nice video, keep up with the great auction content… You mentioned in one of your videos that you’re buying from ACV Auctions, what are your thoughts about them/ car prices, fees etc? Thanks.
Throw some Triple Gold Dayton’s on it with it sitting on Vogue Tires, and then put Hydraulic’s on it. Make sure to put SS on the back window (it doesn’t stand for Super Sport) and then put it up for sale at around $8-$9k and u make a FEW Thousand on it and u definitely made the Buyer Very Happy and they will always come back!! I’m an owner as well and people are buying those “Old Schools” again!! Getting back into the car shows to see whose care can bounce the highest. It’s crazy, but give the people what they want
The cords with fabric seats are like the dodge fabric seats. Water stains them. Just have a detail place use an extractor to clean seats when they dry they will all match no stains
I think something that would be cool is if you parted the Lincoln out to see how much profit you can make doing that angle as well. Also love the videos Craig keep it up!!
Thanks for mentioning and giving a little intel on the mustangs at the auction. I've been on the hunt for a coyote engine mustang for a while I prefer the s550 but I would take a s197 if it was a killer deal. The hunt continues thanks bro!
@RiceRocket that's cool but I HATE payments I want to pay cash. I want my car to be mine not the banks it feels much better.. I have a friend who does what this bro does he's been doing it for like 20 years so I'm gonna have him be on the lookout for me at the auctions.. I have the cash to buy pretty much any mustang I just love best bang for your buck deals so I'm waiting till I find my sick blessing deal it's coming soon I can feel it in my bones. The prices are falling and falling..
Just found your channel and love your videos. I loved the comment about your wife being a basic "b"....and then clarifying it that she isn't into swiping screens but knobs and push buttons. I , too am a basic "b" then cause all the new fangled garbage on cars and trucks nowadays, truly stinks. Just give me a car, where I can turn on the heat, roll down a window, twirl the button to my favorite station, or just stick a cd into my cd player...I have actually been looking for 2 years now for a nice used car with navigation system and basic everything else, but unfortunately, I cannot find anything with those two items, it is all swipey, picture gadgets or none...seems kinda silly what they are putting into cars nowadays when basic is all that is needed for anyone. Great videos. Thank you for all the work you have put into them. Love the auction ones. Please do more. 🙂
I bought a 2004 Pacifica limited in perfect condition with 200,000 miles at an auction for $300 tires looked new etc etc looked like it had 50k miles. It needed one sensor for $20 bucks
Craig, clean it ,flip it ,concentrate on the bigger picture ,what your family likes,& remember don't listen 2 a B/S story ,& cash is king!.. ( Aussie John )...Holden fan ( AUST )...
I think most people are here for tips on buying and selling cheap cars . I watch all the videos EXCEPT the ones where you cut the roof of SUVs or adding cutouts to the exhaust. Just my opinion
I like the comment you made at the end about what you would list it at and what you would probably end up getting for it. Seeing these auction prices and then what local dealers are asking there is a big gap even after accounting for reconditioning. They are taking a risk and have to make a profit but some of the asking prices are crazy on 15 yr old high mileage cars and I wonder what they end up getting for them.
Bare in mind that auction prices are just now starting to come down. For the past few years these cars were going for double at auction. So even more on the lots. This is going to really start hurting dealers as he mentioned early in the video. They bought it for $2500 6mo ago, tried to sell it for $4000, but now it's only worth $2500 (at best). So do you take a loss, or hold it forever. Not great choices. I'd feel bad for dealers, but most are so shady I can't seem to find an ounce of sympathy... lol.
I think you should just get her clean and give her a new loving home. She looks in pretty good condition. Someone will appreciate that vehicle even with the high miles. Those motors are bulletproof with normal service.
My wife is the same way. I wanted a Tesla x....sold her on it till she saw the crowds staring at the back doors....she flat out said I don't want people staring at me.....she ended up getting a loaded Kia Niro when they first came out! She's too practical for me..... I've owned hummer H2, z06's, Cadillac xlrs and Denali trucks.....I like flashy....she hates it.
I found a buick like that about a year and a half ago when car prices were ridiculous. It was immaculate with 50k miles and like a 2004 or so. They wanted like $4200 and it sat there for a year lol. So although it was in beautiful condition, most kids looking in that price range are not willing to be seen in such a monstrosity of a vehicle, which is truly a shame.
Did you try to jump start the Escalade? It looks great and people purposely leave stuff on to kill the battery on vehicles they want hoping to get them cheaper (I'm sure you know that but I'm surprised you don't Carry a jump box) And it looks way to nice to cut the roof off if as you said they are Great vehicles!
I do have my 2002 Chevy blazer I can give it as trade it has a blown rod in it so I can't drive it at all now and something's wrong with when it did drive it moved back and fourth not sure what that problem was
Sometimes I find in elderly owned cars that are dirty are not the owners fault, in there advancing years eyesight tends to go,what they think is clean, really isn't, no fault of them,I have bought a few of these, they clean up well
Hei, Craig, now that the prices are stsrting to come down, would you consider restarting the 400$ to a ferrari/supercar challenge? To be honest, 2nd episode of this challange was recommender by youtube and i stayed since, but, i'd like to see you take another chance at it with a more normal car market.

That Lincoln is good was used for taxi I own 1 for 5 Year 1999
Very good except in snow
But soft ride like boat
Pretty kewl, thx for the trip to the auction! Man they sure are making life nice for the soccer mom's now a days, that van was beautiful.
I can certainly see how margins can be really tight on a $1k car if larger repairs are needed. I wonder if it's a problem with the alternator.
Spent 50 years going to car auctions. Seen it all and dont miss it!
Great deal on the 370z, those cars hold their value well
I've owned an Auto detailing shop for 20 + yrs!!! Life is Great!!!❤ I'm So happy I QUIT detailing vehicles for the foreigners!!! Junk! Flood cars!! Never want to pay more than $100.00 for a Complete Detail!!! I quit working on their junk years ago!!!God bless you Flying Wheels ❤
They never want to pay for anything
Love these weekly market updates 🔥
Flood damage cars a big risk. Months later electrical problems can arise from corrosion.
Not a bad looking town car... Made some good purchases
At least you’re saving gas
@@rollospeakstruth4313 Except I average 20 mpg...
@@JK-tu1xx no way I average 16mpg and I drive a v8 truck you have a 4 cylinder, something ain’t adding up
@@rollospeakstruth4313 It's old, burns a good amount of oil, has a lot of sticky parts that need to be fixed up and add to the resistance.
These are my favorite videos as a new dealer starting out
Clean and sell is my opinion. Good score on the 370z!
Thanks! what was the App you used to check the value of the Chrysler. I would like to get one. Thank man cool video
Laser Appraiser
You should practice safety on the auction lot, going a little quick in that Z!
Where I live, they would bust your nuts for going faster than 10mph.
Chill karen
I'VE OWNED 14 LINCOLNS!!! ABSOLUTELY LOVE EM!!!❤ Even sold em at the Lincoln dealership!!!
370z was an absolute steal! I love these cars and that will go for 15k in a single day let it sit for a few months and 17k
The Lincoln is the is the best buy on this video.....that engine is AMAZING, 173,000 miles is nothing on this beautiful car......love your videos.
That Buick is a great car! Very very very reliable and fast seller 💨
Full hydraulics on that Lincoln. 3 wheel, front hop, back hop; all of it.
Stay honest to the Lincoln. Dress it up and sell to a person that needs a quality car for a reasonable price. something that is desperately needed and, as you've said, has been a rare find in the last couple of years
Completely agree
My family had a Denali with the 6 of us we used it to haul the Boat we got it detailed and then the week after it got picked up and totaled by a tornado.
When I listen at 2x you’re perfectly legible and have a ton of information and kind of takes the long winded ness out.
Lots of good onfo
I have an 05 base model mercury grand marquis 270k miles runs like a starving cheetah. No lights on steers stop and drives str8. That Lincoln should be a great car👍🏿
I’ve never considered going to an auto auction. I need to get a cheap commuter car. I could care less what it looks like.. just need good gas mileage and reliability. This video helped me a lot. I am pretty much looking for the same deal!
Low rider for sure. Maybe a couple of switches. The youth would love it. LA custom style Dayton wheels 🛞
Love the Lincoln, got one, 4.6 duel over head cam.
It would kick butt in a demolition derby!
Use the motor for a mustang when done.
Hey Craig, nice video, keep up with the great auction content… You mentioned in one of your videos that you’re buying from ACV Auctions, what are your thoughts about them/ car prices, fees etc? Thanks.
I use them all the time for buying and selling
I love your grandpa.... Popay AL.. my love to him
Great editing craig. Thank you for listening. :)
Craig you got a steal on that Lincoln Cartier Town Car! Just clean it and sell it!
super clean, would clean it up and sell it
Throw some Triple Gold Dayton’s on it with it sitting on Vogue Tires, and then put Hydraulic’s on it.
You paid $1,000, I have $1,200 that’s burning a hole in my pocket, what do you say I come pick it up and save you the trouble and all that hard work?…
1000 doesnt cover all the fees on top of that that will add up to 12 easily
The cords with fabric seats are like the dodge fabric seats. Water stains them. Just have a detail place use an extractor to clean seats when they dry they will all match no stains
I think something that would be cool is if you parted the Lincoln out to see how much profit you can make doing that angle as well. Also love the videos Craig keep it up!!
Your delivery and style of videography is very entertaining.. 👍🏼
Thanks for mentioning and giving a little intel on the mustangs at the auction. I've been on the hunt for a coyote engine mustang for a while I prefer the s550 but I would take a s197 if it was a killer deal. The hunt continues thanks bro!
Look at new s550’s sometimes there’s promos and deals. Got my 2020 GT for 36k CAD new
@RiceRocket that's cool but I HATE payments I want to pay cash.
Wow! I think you really really scored on the Chrysler Pacifica!
Price in Canada 37k
@@darrenmahabir6510 Yes but with our exchange rate that’s about 27,000 usd. Still a great buy though.
If you're not going racing with Cleetus, just flip the lincoln. It's too nice to trash IMO.
Donate it Craig!! It's the season!!
YOOOO PAPA ALLLL,, good to see him!!,, also the green truck is a Mitsubishi Jeep, no connection with the brand Jeep, just the model name
I'd feel bad for dealers, but most are so shady I can't seem to find an ounce of sympathy... lol.
Lots of Buy Here Pay Here outfits jack up prices on these cars because it's all about monthly payment to those buyers.
I think you should just get her clean and give her a new loving home. She looks in pretty good condition. Someone will appreciate that vehicle even with the high miles. Those motors are bulletproof with normal service.
I'd sell the Lincoln...it's a classic that should not be altered...plus money is king...lol
I love that 370 Z !!! Great video !!!
Fix it up...clean it up.....someone will get a great daily driver.
I have an 09 370z Nismo and love it! I think the Smode is the rev matcher
Did you try to jump start the Escalade?
It looks great and people purposely leave stuff on to kill the battery on vehicles they want hoping to get them cheaper (I'm sure you know that but I'm surprised you don't Carry a jump box)
And it looks way to nice to cut the roof off if as you said they are Great vehicles!
Good stuff Craig loved the 370Z buy! Easy $15k
I’d just fix and sell the Lincoln
Those are nice for long drives on the highway very comfortable for everyone even the people in back
Do you think buying from an auction could be viable for a personal car ?
Whipple supercharger, fat slicks and crazy taxi theme on Lincoln
Don’t mess it up
Keep it stock and original
I do have my 2002 Chevy blazer I can give it as trade it has a blown rod in it so I can't drive it at all now and something's wrong with when it did drive it moved back and fourth not sure what that problem was
For the Lincoln, make it roadworthy and donate it to a family in need.
I Couldn't think of something more beneficial than that. Noteworthy idea right here
no way they were selling a fj cruiser for 1000 if you didn't know they have kept their value since release
Just sell it its lovely the way it is
Sometimes I find in elderly owned cars that are dirty are not the owners fault, in there advancing years eyesight tends to go,what they think is clean, really isn't, no fault of them,I have bought a few of these, they clean up well
It's that time of year to be Santa if your able. A 1k car may feel minor to you, however huge to others
My list of LESS THAN $1,000 cars from Copart auctions:1985 Oldsmobile Toronado - $625; 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue GLS - $550; 2006 SAAB 9 5 - $600; 2006 Pontiac Bonneville SLE - $850; 2002 Cadillac Eldorado ETC - $325; 1983 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz - $225.
I wish I could find cars this cheap and good in my country T.T
Your wife sounds like a smart lady keep her happy feller. L.O.L👍
Hi from Auckland New Zealand 🇳🇿 ❤ Love the Lincoln car all over the rest
Well I'm glad to hear Craig's wife is easy
