As of 12/27/22, there is no need to test for PCR

Within the first few minutes you have given wrong information. Those protocols have been scrapped. Tourism is extremely important to our island and misinformation can impact us severely.

As I said, check the latest travel guidelines to see what are the entry requirements are. However, if there ARE entry requirements, this video whole heartedly and honestly reflects what a traveller should be aware of and could possibly expect.

Boogie bus’s are pretty good and only $1.50 flat rate to get around, but personally prefer the ZR’s as they are less cramped/noisy etc. who charge around $3.50. Bare in mind they will pull up to you and beep their horn, don’t be dismayed or afraid it’s just there way of signalling to you if you want to get in. Hope this tip helps someone

ZR vans are white minivans with a maroon stripe down the side, and the letters ZR on the license plate. These are privately owned and run specific routes numbered one through eleven. You can hail them down or they will beep and you can just jump in.

How long ago did you travel? Barbados scrapped the test on arrival some time ago unless the pre-travel test you did wasn't an authorised one.
Also, 100 hours is 4 days, not 5.

Taking into account the day that we landed (afternoon) as day 0, we were free early afternoon on day 4.

This was actually as of September 2021, but 100% make sure you check latest guidelines, because if testing on entry is still mandatory, tip 1 is highlighting what could happen, and how to best manage it.

@@TheMattJames Hey Matt I love your vids mate, if this was filmed in Sept 2021 - the title is a little misleading and the content inaccurate for a vid called '(TRAVEL TIPS) in 2022 '. I landed in two weeks ago - and it was such a super smooth process once vaccinated and arriving with your PCR / Antigen test.

  • @PhannyObsession

You haven't had to quarantine in a Hotel in Barbados for months now. Certainly not since this video was uploaded. If you are Vaccinated, there are absolutely no restrictions once you leave the Airport

Hi Matt, as I've stated before I love your videos on Barbados but on this one I have to agree with some of the comments below about the title being misleading. I understand that this was filmed in 2021 and yes I agree with your replies that this is what people 'could' expect if they were to re-introduce this policy. However your title says 'How to travel Barbados in 2022 | what you need to know' not what you 'MAY need to know if testing on arrival and quarantining are re-introduced'. Yes, I agree that everyone needs to check travel restrictions before travelling to anywhere but an edit to the video saying "the testing on arrival and quarantining are no longer required but be aware if they are re-introduced as this was my experience in 2021" is easy to do and would avoid any confusion. Keep up the good work and keep those vids coming....

Looks like you have many Barbados videos here on TH-cam and that you have, for the most part, enjoyed my island (minus the testing issues). I hope that you will consider either modifying or deleting this video. As many others have pointed out, the information provided regarding the current testing protocols are not accurate, and is potentially harmful to Barbados' tourism industry. Potential tourists deciding on a destination could see this inaccurate testing information as a reason to skip coming to Barbados. Tourism is the main industry in Barbados and many livelyhoods depend on it. I can see that you have 13K subscribers and this video currently has 4K views......I'm sure your TH-cam videos are a good source of income for you and you'd prefer to not take it donw. Is it at least possible to edit this so that it's accurate?

    • @TheMattJames
      @TheMattJames  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Hey David, I would absolutely not consider deleting this video.
My channel is all about documenting my honest and truthful travel experiences whenever I go with no exaggeration. I have absolutely no bias in anything I post other than doing so with integrity, however my loyalty will always lie in favour of tourists/travellers, so that they are fully equipped to make the best possible travel decisions.
As mentioned, travellers should check latest travel advice for updated protocols. If they do so, they will notice that testing is no longer required right this moment. But as we know, protocols change all the time, and this video should act as an accurate representation of what travellers COULD potentially endure if testing restrictions are reintroduced.
I’m not really sure what you expect, when this was just an honest reflection of how Barbados tourism was treating its tourists at the time, it was just unfortunate for Barbados that it just so happened to be to someone that was documenting the process.. With this in mind, hopefully this will act as a catalyst to modify future entry procedures, so that Barbados’ reliance on tourism is reflected in how it’s tourists are treated.
      Hope this answers your concerns.

@@TheMattJames understood. However, the title of your video is "How to travel to Barbados in 2022", not "My Barbados travel experience in September 2021."

@@davidniles2433 what difference does it make?? Who cares what the title says? Common sense should tell anyone to do their own research and not to solely rely on what anyone says good or bad. Sounds like you want him to downplay the not so good parts about Barbados and I’m glad that he isn’t falling for it.
