Question: I got the Lexar reader that you recommended and I have a SanDisk SD card 256GB 200MB/s V30 and it skips frames when filming on all 4k filming options... how did you get it to work?
Unfortunately 200mb/s is still too slow to film in 4k 60fps Pro Res Apple Log my friend. The minimum requirement is 220mb/s. That’s why I recommend a SSD instead of SD card for that filming scenario. You can check out this video where I detailed a more affordable setup to film at your specs without any skipped frames or compromise. It’ll be even cheaper than buying a SD card that’s fast enough to do it. Check out the video here:

@@KamaniBrown Yes, I am aware of that. But in the comments below you had people ask about 130MB/s and 190MB/s and you told them it would work at 4k 30fps. I'm saying my 200MB/s doesn't work at **any** of the 4k options... not just 60fps but it isn't working at 30fps or 24 fps. So I'm wondering how you go it to work on those lower frame rates...
what software was your iphone 15 pro on? i just ordered a 3 in 1 ugreen usb-c sd card reader from amazon and was wondering if it will be compatible with 15 pro ios 17.4.1. saw some reviews saying it works and some don’t due to ios 17.
I can’t speak of that Ugreen model, but I know for sure that the 1 used in the video works perfectly regardless of which version of iOS you have. I did this video just after launch so it was on an older version of iOS 17. Either way though it still works just fine on my 15 Pro max and I’m on the current iOS 17.4.1. I just tested it while writing this so I know for sure it works. I don’t see why the Ugreen version wouldn’t work so you can try your luck. If it doesn’t work though, I can confirm that the Lexar version I used in this video works 100%.
Why my iphone cant read my sd card 32 GB sandisk extreme for 4 k log prores?
Well as shown in the video if the SD card does not meet the spec requirement as stated by Apple themselves it will not work or at best it may give very poor results… And 32 gb is just too small for that kind of workload my friend. I would suggest getting a new SD card that meets the specs as shown in the video or get a more cost effective build as I show in this video here: th-cam.com/video/2ZQmgR8utA4/w-d-xo.html

So my SD card is only 130mb, will it work?
It will… but will only work up to 4k 30fps (or 1080p 60fps) if you’re filming in Apple Pro Res. It definitely won’t work with 4k 60fps recording.

It most certainly is! Something to note though… you can only record directly to an external device when filming Apple ProRes format only, unless you use a third party app like the BlackMagic camera that may allow you to record other formats directly to an external device. The minimum speed requirement for filming the maximum 4k 60fps Apple ProRes format is 220mb/s and 60fps is double the frames and almost double the data. So 190mb/s for 4k 30fps ProRes should be more than enough.

I'm not sure how he got it to work but I just bought the Lexar and Anker set up that is linked in his description and my personal 200mbps SD wasn't working with any 4k settings.... not 24 or 30 fps.
@@mariahezra let me try and help. What exact video settings are you trying to use? That speed SD card and card reader setup should be fine for up to 4k 30fps in Apple Log ProRes.
