ikr. Got him fired or suspended (don't remember which, it's been a while since I saw the movie) but when push came to shove he respected Brendan and rooted for him.
Fun fact: originally, Anthony Johnson pitched the idea that he would tap out to a rear naked choke since that is where all of his submission losses come from, but the directors went with the kimura
the sportswriter Bill Simmons always says that in sports movies you need "that guys" to get the audience rooting for the characters, to give someone to cheer on screen. Kevin Dunn is an amazing "that guy" in this movie.
People have no idea how hard it is to make a great sports film where you are genuinely rooting for BOTH teams in the end. The final bout between the brothers and the dream like staredown as the ref is talking is amazing. "Where's pop?" Tommy cannot think about that now. He already purged his anger over his dad on Mad Dog Grimes but he cannot possibly unleash that level of hate onto his own brother.
That's anthony "rumble" johnson, considered by many to be one of the greatest light heavyweights in MMA and challenged for the UFC light heavyweight title twice. It's kinda crazy how they were able to get such a high-calibre fighter for this movie.
It's amazing how it's choreographed enough to be super intertaining but realistic enough to be grounded all at the same time. Rest in piece, Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson.
wait u telllin me...this guy used a scissor sweep and then succeeded in throwing him with a standing kimura lock? lol. i love movies. at a high level that would be pretty rare but watch someone do it someday in the ufc and make me eat my words lol
Ivan Morales yeah idk about judo...i only do judo three times a week...thats all... yeah... lol i'm just saying the practicality of the technique used is... pretty low... i mean... its a move just not realistic in competition at high level. which is why you've never seen it at high level.
This movie is great except for the fight scenes. They are just not well done. They have several professional fighters in that movie, so they should have done better
+Matthew Williams Holy shit, this argument has legitimate racism in here. If you want to argue straight up genetics, the best runners (Marathon/stamina) are black (a specific region of Africa though). The best sprinters are also black (again specific to certain regions). Going beyond that and just arguing which race is the overall best, that is the defintion of racism... Also to the guy who said Robbie is white, he's mixed being part Filipino.
Incredibly underrated movie.
Criminally underrated
Train platform underrated
Everyone loves this movie what are you talking about
@@razorlumz I was thinking the same thing. I don't know anybody that says... "Warrior, oh that movie sucked!"
@@razorlumz It’s because calling something “underrated”, gets you likes. This movie made top 250 of all time by fans…
My favorite part of this whole scene is how excited the principal got

Xors that’s actually pretty funny on Johnson part
Rest in piece rumble I will never forget you
2:03 This moment is simply hilarious and heartwarming at the same time! Just purely beautiful!

This scene is pure love
its like when a toddler poops into the toilet correctly for the first time and he's proud of himself XD
"Rumble would kill this guy in real life"
Well he's an actor so...
Of course mate.... Real life no actor can beat rumble
@@johndiengdoh4332 thats so facts, hes a scary dudeee

Love that. Great insight
RIP Anthony “Rumble” Johnson
This is such an underrated film.
Underrated
This movie made me cry lol

Conlon was just too much for him. Dude is insane in his membrane.
Because at the time he was still fighting at welterweight and wasn’t as big of a name
Because Dana White doesn't pay his fighters
His boss celebrating him makes me tear up
R.I.P to the big Anthony Rumble Johnson. Good travel legend
Some of the most talented and some of my favorite actors are in this movie. Great movie
RIP Rumble
I really would have loved if this movie was rated-R. It's missing just a bit of that gritty edge that mma fights like these would have.
God, I need to see this amazing movie again.
Gotta love that Rumble cameo
I can't believe Rumble is gone 😢 Great movie and this has the most realistic mma I've seen
R.I.P. Anthony Rumble Johnson
This movie has me in tears in numerous parts.
2:10 i want a boss like that :D:D:D
When you have that isolation, the size difference has to be much bigger than that to put up the slightest resistance.
It's amazing how it's choreographed enough to be super intertaining but realistic enough to be grounded all at the same time.
Rest in piece, Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson.
its also choreographed good bcs guy like Anthony Johnson can hurt people even unintentionally
Really enjoyed this clip. Shows true heart and determination to perform at such a level. Great submission and a well deserved win. 💪🏼🙏🏻✨
This movie was SO much better than it had any busniess being.
is this anthony Johnson?
Yes
Nope it’s Anthony Joshua
I can't wait until Midnight takes on Jon Jones.
Wilson Rohrman well youre gonna have to keep waiting buddy
One is retired, and the other is a crybaby on steroids. Nice.
def never happening now :,(
Anthony Rumble Johnson may he RIP.
Not just rumble, they even gave Javier Mendez a role here 2:05
They couldn't afford Joe Rogan??
They did however get Brian Callen, third wheel of the axis of awful.
They couldn't find him..he was in the jungle on DMT
Callen actively degrades the value of every commentating scene he's in in this movie.
The disturbing thing is when you can hear Joe Rogan but cant SEE Joe Rogan
they needed to get Brendan Schaub...he's the man
When the principal got into it. That’s epic
The coach keeps saying, “Turn your hips up and in.” Which way is in?
It's like the same position as a Peruvian necktie, but with a kimura instead of a front headlock...interesting. I'm gonna play with that in class. 😂
wait u telllin me...this guy used a scissor sweep and then succeeded in throwing him with a standing kimura lock? lol. i love movies. at a high level that would be pretty rare but watch someone do it someday in the ufc and make me eat my words lol

cung le in his prime would've probably done some shit like this.
It's unlikely and of course a movie won't be completely realistic, but this movie is one of the most believable I have ever seen
The scene where the wife would jump in joy to see that his husband won, is really beautiful one...Unfortunately, it's not included in the clip..
thats the koba fight i think
Rip rumble
what business does bryan callen have being in this movie
Joe Rogan was propably high as fuck so they took Bryan :D
@CalvinV7 What? Hydra?
rumble would murder everyone in this movie
MARSDEN ALMIGHTY He would do very well remember No One Is Unbeatable
unless they can wrestle or have cardio for more than 1 minute
Well they’re actors so yea
Well it's a movie, so there's that..
You.Are.Brain.Dead
Rip anthony🙏🏻🥺
Anthony "Rumble" Johnson. RIP.
Incredibly underrated movie scene!
Rumble should've used that overhand right 😭
Rolling Kneebar or that left high kick
Or the right uppercut.
I can't believe Rumble just retired, thumbs up if you came here after UFC 210.
Kevin Dunn, one of my favorite character actors.
joel edegerton excelente ator
Great movie but I can’t imagine telling anyone to shoot on Anthony rumble Johnson. Rip legend.
I mind I went into labour watching this film for the first time lol. Brilliant film
rumble trying hard not to be aggressive
+Asyraf Nazri Well, to be fair, the white guy submit Rumble, which is pretty standard for Rumble.
Bahahaha gud one
Eziokilla9595 Only DC can submit Rumble.
This dude reminds me of Matt Hughes
Brandon facing the almighty "Rumble", and I've just realized it ^^
The year is 2021. I just realized "Midnight" is actually "Rumble" 😳🤯
Bryan Callen gave the best performance in this movie.
Apparently this actor is underestimated, he's got a good chin since he took that punches from Rumble, should we expect him in MMA?
Rip Rumble
Brian callen finely got to play joe rogan
Let's go Brendan..............
So Bane learned how to fight from Crossbones.
No, Tom Hardy's character was trained by his father. It was Joel Edgerton's character who was trained by Frank Grillo.
Song name?
That’s rumble Johnson in welterweight
The scene called for a rear naked choke here... But they had to change it...cause you know..awkward...
Or an eye poke.
Awww, God I love insider comments like that!😂
If this fight was when Rumble was fighting welterweight, then yes, he's gonna get beat.
But if this was during his LHW run.....oh my.
Rumble is intimidating af
lets go Branden lol
in reality Rumble knocks him out with one hit. lmfao.
Any body else just realize Bryan Callen next this movie
anthony johnson?
I've never seen a kimura pulled off this way. Can anyone tell me if this is common/best practice?
It's very hard to adjust with that position for Kimura lock in rral fighting
Brandon is the undisputed Welterweight Champion
YOU GOT IT !!
They managed to call a black guy "MIDNIGHT Li " and get away with it. I swear to god 😂
Branden is good fight
Let's go Brandon 😂
what the hell os a scissors takedown?
CHRIS T what you just saw
It’s more commonly referred to as a scissor sweep. But it’s real, just very rare.
something that'd get you hammer fisted to sleep likely
Minii durtai kino
If only ufc fights were like this in real life...
Entertaining 🎥
FIGHT
Lets GO Brandon!
Batman dosent kill
bro id rather have tommy be the main character
I would say that Tommy and Brandon are pretty much both main characters in this movie.
This movie is great except for the fight scenes. They are just not well done. They have several professional fighters in that movie, so they should have done better
Let’s go Brandon!
not the only fight Rumble was acting in. LOL. UFC is straight Entertainment at this point.
I hate Walmart
Let’s go Brandon 🤣
Way to go Brandon! Let's go Brandon! LOL!
😇💪
..
This scene disrespects rumble so much
It's a movie.
LOL
Dumbass
Of course they named the only black guy "midnight"
Lol, Rumble is fighting like a little girl in this scene. The white guy would get knocked out by Rumble in real life.
+joseph stork How does it feel to have the mental capacity of a first grader?
Rolling Kneebar I'm in college
Of course he would. However that wouldn't advance the plot of this film on very much, would it?
That white dude would have been demolished in real life.
Adolf Hitler Jon Jones, Rampage Jackson, King Mo, Rashad Evans, Anthony Johnson, Jose Aldo and Anderson Silva suck? Get your German ass out of here.
Carl Johnson Hitler was Austrian, you moron!
***** Could I care less you moron? I'm not German or Austrian.
+ThreshPrinceOfBelAir Rampage Jackson is not a good fighter? Are you kidding me, he is one of the greatest light heavyweights of all time.
+Matthew Williams Holy shit, this argument has legitimate racism in here. If you want to argue straight up genetics, the best runners (Marathon/stamina) are black (a specific region of Africa though). The best sprinters are also black (again specific to certain regions).
