Within 10 seconds one of them is on the phone and one is already putting his boots on. Better to put your boots on rather than racing down there, realising that you need to kick in a window or door and then have to go back for your kit or hobbling around with cut feet. @@_tyler_gti_ No guarantee they were at fault of that collision, or how that happened, whereas the X-trail seems to have been trying to undertake after the merge point where the road markings would suggest to me that the left lane is required to give way. Reckless driving and failure to adhere to multiple road markings while endangering other road users in order to get ahead of them, seems like poetic justice.
These drivers would probably just brush off a fine and points if they're caught by the police, but if their car is off the road for repairs it should have a bigger impact, and I'm not talking about the dents. :)

I had the same mind set when someone kicked in my doors. Cheap dashcams at night barely capture any details if objects are moving. Had to pay excess to get repairs.

It's like hitting an illegally parked car. Just because it's illegally parked doesn't mean you're fine. You hit a car and it could've been avoided. Them breaking a rule is their fault. The crash happening depends on case by case
I'm sick of truckies blaming everyone else for their accidents. Granted the car at 13.57 should probably not have stopped at a green light, but the truck driver was clearly approaching that little car, for some distance, at a drastically faster speed than it was travelling and should have slowed down accordingly, but he also had adequate time to stop or to move into the entirely empty left lane (where he should have been travelling anyway).
My reaction to about 97% of these clips is "How the hell did you think that was a good idea?"

Probably the cam car's driver. The ute may have been brake checked by the hatchback in front of him...but either way, the cam car had time to slow down and get some buffer room back, but didn't...so he'll probably end up taking the blame.
@@aussiebloke609 I'm no expert on Australian traffic law, as a citizen of Canuckistan, but it's worth noting that the ute driver passed illegally using a turning lane, and placed himself too close to the cam car for the cammer to stop safely. And, of course, he deliberately created another dangerous situation by brake checking. I'd expect any sensible police department to charge the ute driver with reckless driving, and the cammer with nothing.
@Owen Armstrong One can only hope...but the cam driver _did_ have time to back off and increase the gap before the accident happened (and we're assuming the ute was brake-checking - the hatchback ahead of the ute isn't visible, so there's no way to tell if it was this vehicle actually doing a brake-check and the ute just trying to avoid piling into it. Likely it was the ute, as being a dick seems to be the ute driver's default state IMO, but not in evidence, sadly.) And while the ute was blatantly breaking the law by passing in a turning lane, that's bit of scofflaw-ism isn't the actual cause of the accident, so while he could probably be ticketed for that, it likely won't be considered a direct cause of the accident - a contributing factor at best. Basically, the ute driver was a complete shithead with his passing maneuver, but that doesn't permit the cam car driver to then continue driving so close either.
And finally, you're hoping that a "sensible police department" actually exists in Arse-trailer. I'm not so optimistic, myself. :-P
The car in front looked like it was going significantly slower than both the ute and the dashcam car. Id say the ute driver simply estimated its speed poorly and had to brake hard.... And the cam driver was only watching the bonnet of his own car.
Ute driver was a dickhead, but the cam driver should already have been prepared to brake after observing the car ahead driving slow before the ute even passed.
Obviously brake checking, followed by middle finger out the driver’s window.

I was a very nervous new driver 5 years ago but I always dreaded roundabouts and they still seemed cursed. One I pass every day for work has given me 3 close encounters with people who absolutely have to get to work 30 seconds early.
Turn indicators and traffic lights are just that; indicators. Always look both ways at least twice every single time.

It's actually legal to change lanes on a roundabout, given it's safe to do so.
Tips on how to avoid the crashes in the video:
1: Drive with enough distance for you to stop between your car and the one in front.
2: If there is a multi lane road and one or more of the lanes is not moving while one of the others is, slow down in the lane that is moving and watch out for cars.
3: Use traffic lights properly.
4: watch where you are going.

The full acceleration in reverse scenario is almost always a senior citizen.

Some drivers think that by letting other cars in from side roads etc, are being courteous but actually they create a dangerous situation to other drivers. As soon as your car is stopped, you are blocking vision to other cars in other lanes including the car you are letting in. Only give way when you are required to, not to be nice. I see it everyday and avoided so many collisions.

I'm 22 and just got my learners because I was scared of driving (well specifically, dying while driving) and seeing this has really made me second guess going to my driving lesson. Anyone else that was scared of driving that got over their fear?
The scary thing is that there is probably 50x more avoidable stupid accidents with no dashcam footage
